This teaching encourages you to get where you want to get now and where God wants you to go.

The Lord plans your life, and God wants to take you. You must press on going forward regardless of what comes your way.

Can you press on regardless of what is happening around you? The enemy comes to discourage you and will use others to do so. Will you allow others to prevent your calling, purpose, and destiny?

Forgetting the Past and Moving Forward Verse - be encouraged to verse

Isaiah 43:19 - “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

There will be days you feel like you are going to drown or burn up. It is like the enemy is tying you down.

In Isaiah 43:1-3, it says, 43 But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Be encouraged and press on. The Lord gives a promise. 

In Isaiah 43:18-19, he says, 18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Are you ready for a new thing in your life? In the year ahead, the Lord aims to bring us new opportunities. He wants His children to walk free in an abundant life with Him.

It is walking free from the unencumbered by the strife past the disappointments. We all have had disappointments by the ties that bind us to our past. It is time to cut the past. Holding onto the past keeps a person from moving forward into all the Lord has for you. 

It is time to look forward. That means if you have bitterness from others who have hurt you, let go and forgive them. If you want things like they used to be, let it go. The Lord wants to do a new thing. His ways are much higher than ours. It is time to look ahead with fresh eyes, with a fresh anointing that comes with being willing to let go. That means letting go of offenses and being willing to walk through the new doors the Lord has for you.

You gotta let go of the issues in your mind, home, and heart that need to be dealt with and resolved quickly. The way of the Lord is running a race before you without the heavy weight and toxic trouble. Some of you have toxic friends you are hanging onto. It is time to cut. Some of you have nonbelievers in your life, and you run with them. Sometimes, it gets you to compromise your walk. Don't allow that. You want to be around others who can pull you up, challenge your walk, etc. 

It is time to choose this day to resolve, reconcile, and repent of the old ways so that you can move into the new thing.

Some of you have self-unforgiveness. You live with guilt and shame. It is time to reconcile with the Lord and see He has forgiven you. Then forgive yourself. Tear up the note you have against yourself. The Lord's mercy is new every morning. To receive it, move forward, and press on as a soldier regardless of how weary you are.

Many are in transition. You cannot get where God wants you to go if you are unwilling to let go of the past from others or yourself. You must press past your past. Your past can be like bondage holding you back from moving forward. For some of you, this has been a tough year. 2023 was a challenging year. I know it was a tough year for me. Don't give up. It is often testing to go to the next level in Him. 

Your trials may not be over yet. If I can continue to press through, you can too. Don't give up. That is what the enemy wants us to do, and so do our enemies. Some of you have great anointings, and others are jealous because they see it in you. You may not, but others see it. The enemy sees it as well and tries to stop you. 

We must do as Paul did: press on to the things that lie ahead. Press past what lies behind. They are weights that weigh you down. Cut the strings and ropes, but get free and move forward by pressing on. 

Again, the Lord says, "behold I do a new thing." We cry out for the new thing but don't want to press on. Sometimes, we cry out for a new opportunity. We often stand in the doorway but do not press through. I am not taking that step; I am moving to walk through. Maybe you are not willing to walk through. It is a new thing, and new things can be scary, but the Lord is in it. Perhaps you've had failures, and you are afraid of another failure. You gotta let go, totally surrender, trust God, and walk through that new door of opportunity He has for you.

You cannot walk through the open door with all that baggage from the past. The baggage is too big to fit through the door. You gotta let it go. Otherwise, you cannot fit through the door of new opportunities. 

The Bible says to keep asking and knocking on the door loudly. That is a form of warfare. We want to get things out of the way. Fight the good fight. Speak the the mountain to be removed. 

Sometimes, the door does not open because you are carrying so much of the past—baggage—that is weighing you down. The Lord knows better than to allow you to step into the new with the old baggage or self-implode. 

It is time to walk free from the wounds, hurts, and unforgiveness of others and get rid of toxic relationships that are pulling you down. Those things need to go. So, change your mindset. Don't get stuck in the mirry clay that is sucking you down in the mud. Let it go, forgive, and let the lord heal your broken heart. Cut off the past, and then prepare to enter a new destiny.

Is it worth holding onto the past? How about self-pity in what others have done to you. You can, as I said last week, we will be reproached by others who hurt us if we allow them to hurt and break us. Who is going to define you? God or man? Unencumbered by the strife of the past. Some of you are in relationships full of conflict. You keep hanging onto those relationships that are not cheering you on but jealous of you and would rather you not walk through the new door the Lord has for you.

There may be a lot of drama and chaos in your life. The enemy wants you stuck in drama, confusion, and strife. Cut all the strife and live peacefully with all men. Some people do not want to live in peace with you. They want to stab you in the back. They want to see you fall or fail. They will make up something to accuse you. We need to be like people who are walking in peace in love and in the anointing. Striving and defending yourself from others can steal the anointing. The enemy will waste your time with toxic relationships that do not want you to succeed in your walk. 

If you cannot reconcile it, it is time to let them go. I know I had to cut off five people in my life because they brought nothing but strife. There may be more this year I will need to let go. Why? Because they were weighing me down and only emotionally bogging me down with their issues. 

Try to reconcile. If you are not able to with certain relationships, then press on. Yes, you may leave them behind. What is greater? What God has for you, or someone holding you back to your full potential and anointing. Stop trying to make it happen. Sometimes, it takes the lord to deal with that person. Give them to the courts of God for the Lord to deal with them. Let them go; they may come back to you and repent, or maybe not. It is their choice. Forgive them, and pray for them, and bless them.

When walking with the Lord, the path becomes narrower. As the path narrows, it becomes less traveled. You may be alone for a season, but trust God to bring in the right relationships. Don't allow them to break you or wound you. Forgive quickly. God has a purpose for your life. 

Press towards the mark of the high calling.

God wants to reappoint you. Don't let disappointments get in the way. God is making divine reconnection in this season. Don't let past setbacks in the past to set you up for future failures. Focus on something other than past failures. Focus on the new thing that you may not be able to see yet. Give your disappointments to god. Otherwise, you set yourself up for self-sabotage. Don't allow fear to hold you back like Fear of failure. Move forward, trusting God in the walk he has laid out for you. Remember, setbacks are just setbacks. We can learn from setbacks so that we can press on to the new things the lord has. 

When you fear disappointment, you are looking backward. Stop looking in the past. Proclaim and decree positive things into your new future. Many times, when we are about to step into the new, somehow, they pop back in. They are assignments from the enemy to derail you, distract you, and try to haunt you of the past. Those so-called past friends remind you of your past failures. Don't allow it. 

There may be soul ties, word curses, and other things coming against you. You have to break those toxic ties of the past. They bind you to the past. 

It is time to look ahead with fresh eyes and new perspectives. Stop looking at things through lenses of the past. Throw them away. You gotta look through the eyes of Jesus. To do that, start standing on the Scriptures and seeing things as the Lord sees them. Take the time to praise the lord as often as you can. Start to thank Him for the new stuff. Praise him and shout for the victory as if it has already happened. Ask the Lord to feel what he feels about your future. You will get excited. 

See with fresh eyes to move with fresh energy. When around toxic relationships, it is draining. You felt the curses coming at you that made you feel exhausted. Cut them off, move forward with fresh eyes, and praise the Lord; you will have fresh energy. Sometimes, you get up in the morning and cannot get yourself going. The Lord wants to pour out fresh energy upon you. It is exhausting to hold onto the past. Looking at the past is hopeless. It does not energize you. 

It is energizing to get a fresh perspective through the Word of God, decreeing them, praising the Lord, and getting renewed hope again. A new anointing will come just for letting go of the past and getting rid of toxic relationships that pull you down. It is hard to let go of relationships, but when you cut the toxic ones, you will, in a little while, feel refreshed and see the truth. It is hard to see the absolute truth when you are in the thick of it. Get separated from it, then you can see the perspective and start getting the perspective of the Lord. You just got to put it in God's hands. Some relationships are complex to let go of. Some are worth holding onto, so rectify it. Some put on the altar. Trust God. 

When you put it on the alter, God can give it back to you with a new life, a new anointing, a fresh start. Walk through the doors he has for you. Now is the time to get your house in order. If you are sick in your body, take care of yourself. Do whatever you can to get well. Trust the Lord for your healing. He is a great healer. Take care of your temple. Get your finances in order. 

All of us have issues in our minds that need to be renewed. None of us have fully arrived at being completely renewed. It is a lifetime of renewal. We live in a broken world with broken people who will hurt you, but allow the Lord. How do we renew the mind? In areas that don't agree with God, find scriptures to replace the thinking. Memorize, meditate, and replace the lie with the truth. You are made in the image of God. 

You are His child. He created you. Get them removed that frustrate us, get us in knots or upset, unable to move forward because of insecurity or fear. We have a partner, Jesus, who came to set the captives free. Allow him to set you free. Some things make us feel depressed, angry, or even anxious. We gotta deal with those things. God wants to do a new thing. So, get busy renewing your mind that lines up with God. The sooner you align with God's truth, the sooner you can walk through those doors. 

We gotta press past the issues. Get your mind in order. 

Then, there are the heart issues. Heart issues manifest as bad attitudes. We must guard our hearts with all diligence because the issues of life flow out of them. Some people have fear issues; they are issues of the heart. Some people are bitter and resentful; they are issues of the heart. We must cleanse our hearts to move forward through those doors. 

God has an excellent plan for you. For example, I know my thoughts for you, sayeth the Lord, plans to prosper you to give you a future and hope. We need to look up where redemption draws from. He wants you to run the race he has for you without the weights of the past. Choose this day to resolve. Choose this day who you will serve. Are you going to serve the spirit of God or serve your flesh? Choose this day who you will serve. REsolve, reconcile, and repent of the old ways. 

The sinful nature is still in your flesh. Sometimes, during heavy trials, the enemy puts so much pressure on you that your flesh rises, and you return to your old ways. We can't do that. We must resist the temptation. Lot's wife, when turned back, turned into salt. Looking at the past can paralyze you. God has a new thing for you.

So repent and resolve so you can move into a new season that He has prepared for you. Keep preparing for something new that the Lord has for you. Resist the temptation and press on to the Lord's prize for you. So press on, and don't let the past pull you back to something familiar. It is up to you. God will give you the grace to do it.

Praying to the Dead is Considered Necromancy

Praying to the saints or to anyone dead is a form of necromancy. It is oftentimes also a form of idolatry. Canon law, the rules and regulations of the church, decided men could not marry to have them be fully available to serve God and the church. This is not in the bible. Canon law is an ecclesiastical law or code of laws established by a church council. The practice of praying to 'make something happen' because someone is trying to control a situation, in any religion or in a non-denominational setting, is a form of witchcraft, whether rosary beads are used or not.

I would encourage you to look at the various practices within the Catholic church that don't match the Word of God, see if you are out of agreement with them yourself, and if so, repent and renounce them in your generations and repent for your participation with them.

1 Timothy 2:5 =

For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

John 14:6 

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

1 Timothy 4:1 

Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,

Part 2 - 

Overcoming Trials and Tribulations

I once was a partner of another ministry, and the Lord called me out of the partnership. Unfortunately, the partner was upset with me. She thought we were to serve together forever. In my heart, I would have liked to have served together in our calling. God's plans are higher than ours. She felt betrayed by me. She didn't understand or believe the Lord was calling me in another direction.

In this life, you will have trials and tribulations. The pain is deep by losing reputation, betrayal by another, misunderstandings, or the other person believing you are betraying them. Even if they think you made a promise but the other person did not hear the other part, I said many years ago that when I got too busy for God, I was going to lay it down, and man, God made me live up to that.

I knew I had to obey Him. Many times He takes partnerships and pulls them apart. Sometimes it is a test to serve Him and man. I was trying to figure out why or what, but he was taking us differently. Did Abraham understand when the Lord told him to leave and go to a strange land? I don't think so. 

Anyway, in the relationship, with my best friend previously, I was the betrayer. I was leaving her. Unfortunately, it got ugly. No matter what I did, the friendship was under the test. I was under the test of following Jesus over my best friend. Was I willing to lose a long friendship? It was not easy. 

Triumphs and Tribulations

Going through the trials and tribulations of pain, hurt, and loss, I had to see what Jesus went through when He hung on the cross to give us life spiritually and physically.  He came to overcome, and I can overcome, according to John 16:33.

"I have said these things to you, that you may have peace in me. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

Not only that, but the Lord is producing perseverance in me in accordance with Romans 5:3.

"More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,..." To overcome trials, we must see Him in a greater light that He truly is in control of our lives. To overcome the hurt, pain, and loss, is through praising Him by trusting Him. 

When you are in a place of preparation and healing and restoration and waiting, you cannot be anxious, but the Lord will guard your heart and mind against the attacks of the enemy or temptations, according to Philippians 4:6-7.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

We serve such an awesome God of the Lord most high, and we can count those trials and tribulations as joy, according to James 1:2. It is not easy. How to overcome? Praying, fasting, staying in His Word, and standing on His promises of truth. It feels dark, like the dark night of the soul or a deep valley experience. 

All we can do is "Count it all joy, my brothers when you meet trials of various kinds,"

It is not easy to give up something you love, birthed, and give your heart to and then have to lay it all down.  Also, give all the money, equipment, and everything else over and walk away. It feels like your heart is tearing to pieces.  I gave it all up according to the Lord Most High.  Some of the ministries have opinions of me that are not true.  Unfortunately, when your trials involve the other, rumors and gossip, accusations from many, and abandonment and loneliness. So, protect your heart. They don't know what took place, but that is part of God has to be your all so that you are not concerned about what others think.  My reputation is in the Lord and not man. 

I would fix things in the past to only make it worse.  It is better to leave it alone and trust God.  God knows the truth, and that should count.  We get in trouble when we try to fix our reputation with men.  Could it be an idol - loved by all man?

Man always ruins others' reputations, and mine certainly was through several avenues of people - fiery darts. Praise the Lord! We do not fight flesh and blood. 

I had to see these were fiery darts of testing according to 1 Peter 4:12.

"Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you as though something strange were happening to you."

Fiery darts come from people closest to you - friends, family, ministries, etc.  Again I had to remember Jesus on the cross saying Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.  I look that God is testing my heart and my reactions.  I can genuinely say I care for all these people regardless of what they think of me on Earth.  Their opinions do not matter. 

These trials and tribulations, it is God's way to make you more like Him. I came to the place of laying down my reputation and realized I only serve the Lord and not man. No way can you make people happy all the time. People are not consistent, but God is. 

The enemy wants to stop you and keep you in the past, so don't allow the storm around you to keep you from moving forward. Don't allow any person to steal your inheritance. Ensure you keep your heart correct and forgive continuously for what is happening around you. Do not be surprised. I would have to say these trials have given me a more profound love for people in God's way of love - not mine. 

Isaiah 43:19 is what the Lord gave me:

¹⁹ Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. "

I love people, not what they can do for me or fulfill anything in me, but because my Lord Jesus Christ also loves them.

Even though I felt weak and broken, I knew I could do everything according to 2 Corinthians 12:9.

But he said to me,

"My grace is sufficient for you; my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."  What promises of the Lord when we feel weak, broken, and bleeding inside. We are made perfect in weakness because it is more of God and me out of the way.  That is how we are supposed to look at the weakest point.

I would have to say my faith was being tested, and many times just wanted to give up. Part of me just wanted to disappear or be absorbed by the air and not exist.  But, I knew that is what the Lord did not wish to do but for me to get back up, go forward even in my weakness, and count it all joy according to James 1:2-8.

"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. ... "

My faith has been strengthened.  I'm not the same person.  It now takes a lot to take me down.  I see God in all situations and that he is working it out regardless if I can see it or not, like Heb. 11:1 - I cannot go by what I see but what I cannot see and trust God's word and praise him for the excellent result even though it is not happening.

That means standing firm and not being frightened.  You cannot be afraid of your enemies.  When you have a ministry, you have enemies.  Just like Joshua, I was going into new territory and could not be afraid, according to Joshua 1:9

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

I hope this helps someone in the ministry and being attacked with fiery darts to not give up.  Because all these things are tests of faith, according to 1 Peter 1:7.

"So that the tested genuineness of your faith more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ."

In conclusion, it was the best thing I ever did. The Lord took me to many countries, ministering healing and deliverance in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Following the Lord is sweet - the Greater the trial, the greater the victory. I've had opportunities to see people get free and move forward. 

Steps:

• Continuously forgive others - we do not fight flesh and blood
• Keep your eyes on the Lord. Stand on the promises of the Lord and don't waiver.
• Fast and pray frequently to hear the Lord clearly in those hard dark hours.
• Remember, the Lord is for you and not against you, and He never changes but is consistent.
• Keep your eyes on Him and not the circumstances happening around you.
• Determine to stay on course.

How to Meditate on the Word of God for Beginners? 

When you meditate on God's Word on something, you think about it over and over and over again. You begin to chew it like a cow chews curd. This way, you get the Word into your heart from your mind to become part of you.

You say God's not given me a ... God God God God God God Hm. God, yes, God, God, God, eh God? Who's God? God, God, God has not given me a spirit, spirit, spirit... Spirit? Hm. God has not given me a spirit of fear. Hm. Fear is a spirit. Ooh. That's terrible. Ooh. Where is it? I can't see it. God has not given me a spirit of fear but power Power. Power, I like that. Love, love, hmm. I like that too. Sound mind Ooh. Sound mind, sound mind, sound mind. I like that too. Power, love, and a sound mind. That's what God has already given me.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, life, and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

As you continue to meditate, you begin to see the truth. All of a sudden, when you're finished and doing something else, fear comes. You say, "Ah Ha! I see you! That's not my thought! Who told me I was afraid? I didn't tell myself I was afraid!" So you begin to wield your sword by saying, God, God, God has not, God has not given me a spirit of fear! Where'd you come from? I don't want it! God has not given me the spirit of fear but power, love, and a sound mind. So, all of a sudden, fear comes to you and says, "You need to be afraid of tomorrow. You need to take thought for tomorrow. You need to stew in your stuff about what could go wrong tomorrow."

If you accept that thought, you will start thinking today about what could go wrong tomorrow, and tomorrow, you will continue thinking about what could go wrong tomorrow. Then, every day, you're thinking about what could go wrong tomorrow, going into long-term memory. There is an aspect of biology called protein synthesis. Protein synthesis uses an element of RNA and DNA, specifically RNA. When you begin to meditate on thought, day after day, it's no longer electrochemical, like flash shots going off. That thought becomes permanently part of your biology.

Learn some key scriptures that will help you in areas you struggle with daily, and add other scriptures as you go along. If you have trouble memorizing scriptures, put a sticky note (with the written scripture) on your fridge, bathroom mirror, etc.

Ley lines, also known as silver cords, are a grid system of underground geodesic force lines on the earth that witches, wizards, or demonic spirits travel - like an invisible highway.  Witches, when wanting to attack ministers, will draw a line for demons to come to your house.  It is like a marking.  They pop in on you to spy on you or cause you harm - visibly or invisibly.  Ley lines are also like Portals, Vortexes, or entries.

Father God of Israel, in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Your Son I, together with other intercessors in South Africa, petition You for the following about survivors of ritual abuse (SRAs) and carriers of cult programming (CCPs):

1. Protection for myself as an intercessor, my family, my relationships, my possessions, my finances, etc. (name specific things of importance). I petition You to protect me through the spiritual armor according to Eph 6; through the power of Your Name according to Matt 12:21, Matt 18:55, and Ps 144: 1-2; through Your angels that will form a hedge around me (Ps 91; Heb 1:14); through the Blood of Jesus Christ Your Son, and through Your Holy Fire. I petition that You protect me, and everything mentioned is linked to me against principalities, powers, wicked spirits in the air, human spirits, worldly systems, and organizations, any form of energy sent against me, light waves, sound waves, cosmic energy, powers from the earth, powers from the planets, stars, moon and sun, of other galaxies, powers from the waters, powers from under the earth, powers from the realms of the dead or from hell or any other form of power not mentioned but applicable (Rom 8: 34-39; Ps 140; Ps 148).

2. Protection for my church, the pastors leaders, and members of the church. I petition that You protect my church against the same powers mentioned above. I petition that You protect my church against the plans of Satan that he wants to orchestrate through SRAs and CCPs.

I petition You Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ Your Son, that SRAs and CCPs can not be used as weapons by Satan and his servants against my church. I petition You that SRAs and CCPs be delivered and healed by Your power and grace.

3. I petition for the rebirth of every SRA according to Eze 36:26-27 (spiritual rebirth). I petition that the true identity of these people, as designed by You, Our Father, will be reborn and will be able to grow and mature ("psychological rebirth") as part of the restoration of the soul of the person. Many rituals and mind-control techniques include psychological death - the true identity of the person must die.] I petition that the true identity will be protected by Your Presence, Love, Mercy, and Divine Healing Power (Ps 18: 2).

4. I petition that every SRA and CCP that is part of my church, my city, my country, or in the world, be delivered from the power of Satan, Lucifer, the beast, the anti-Christ, and the false prophet. I petition that they will be delivered from cosmic powers (sun, moon, stars, planets, galaxies, heavenly, and any other cosmic power not mentioned but applicable), territorial spirits, water spirits (the sea, the rivers, etc.), powers from the earth, powers from the mountains, powers from the realms of the dead, powers from hell, and the specific demons assigned to keep their programming in place. I petition that all other demons or human spirits that are part of their systems be expelled or dealt with by You at the right time and in the right manner (Eccl 8: 5-6). I petition that their demonic armor will be penetrated by Your Power and Love and be removed at the right time and in the right manner and be replaced by Your spiritual armour.

5. I petition that all things that are written up with regard to the SRA and CCP in my church, city, country, and world in the heavens, between the stars, on the earth, under the earth, in the waters and the waters under the earth - every place of secrets - be wiped out and deleted by the power of the Blood of Jesus and the power of Your Word - be it covenants, plans, oaths, vows or any other kinds of secret.

6. I petition that every SRA and CCP's mind will be filled with Your light; that Your Truth will set them free; and that the wrong beliefs will be exposed, deleted, and replaced by Your Truth; and that their hurt, fear, and anger will be resolved so that they can become whole. I petition that the delivery and healing process will occur at the proper time and according to the procedure (Eccl 8: 5-6).

7. I petition to establish Godly spiritual structures of protection for every SRA in my city, country, and the world. I petition that these structures will come into place through the Body of Christ, that laborers for this harvest will be raised, and that Your Name will be Glorified through this.

I counter-petition every hex, curse, spell, and any form of magic (white, black, red, green, etc.), incantation, ritual, or any other kind of activity from Satan, his demons, or his servants in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

( WE HAVE THE POWER OF HEAVEN AND SAMPSON IN US) Psa 91:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high because he knows my name. Who Invested Reflexology?

Reflexology originated at about the same time as acupuncture, which was enjoying a period of prosperity in China. As in the case of Acupuncture, Reflexology is a plant that has sprung up from the breeding ground of Taoism and Buddhism. (Read the article on Acupuncture). It is thus not surprising to find the elements of these Eastern Religions evident in Reflexology.

Who Invested Reflexology?

Reflexology lly foreign to the West until an American ear, nose, and throat specialist, a Dr William H. Fitzgerald, introduced this 3000-year-old practice to the West at the beginning of this century. He put this philosophy to the test and discovered that by applying pressure on one part of the body, a corresponding part would be numbed or anesthetized. Following the example of the Easterners. he took the first step towards dividing the body into ten reflex zones. After him, others like Dr Edwin Bowers and J.S. Riley expanded on this principle.

It was however a masseur Eunice Ingham who since 1930 refined the "zone therapy" to what today is known as Reflexol ogy (also known as the Ingham technique). She chartered the sole of the feet to indicate in detail, which part of the sole corresponded to which part of the body. Each of the ten toes is the terminal (end) of one of ten different zones which are situated lengthwise down the body. The application of pressure on any part of a zone influences that whole zone. Famous names such as Prince Charles, Princess Diana, and Margaret Thatcher are coupled to this form of holistic treatment.

ORIGIN OF SICKNESS

In order to understand Reflexology a brief explanation of Taoism is necessary as it is the source from which Reflexology has originated. Taoism is a pantheistic religion, which means a non-belief in the person of God. The way, Tao Radiates cosmic (universal) vibrations that filter onto everything and everyone and which infiltrate and preserve everything. Tao radiates a spirit known as "chi" or "ki" (energy vibrations). They say 'God" is not confined to heaven but is in everything, and this 'god' Tao, and his spirit, the chi energy, permeate everything, as well as the human body.

The chi energy moves in 12 meridians much like rivers on a world map. Six meridians run down the left side of the body and six on the right, just beneath the surface of the skin. Six meridians are YIN (passive, female, dark), and six are YANG (energy, male, light). Each of the YIN meridians is coupled to the YANG channel in the hand or the foot. Fitzgerald mentioned earlier that, changed the number of Meridians to ten to coincide with the ten toes of the foot.

Sickness is caused by a disturbance or blockage in these channels. This results in an organ receiving too little YIN or YANG. Tao's preserving strength, his spirit, namely chi energy, cannot reach a particular organ as a result of the blockage. Remove this blockage and the balance between the YIN and YANG is restored.

Reflexology is based on this Taoistic theory, that there are energy currents or meridians (known as chi\ ki) running down the length of the body. As a result of stress, ill-fitting shoes, lack of exercise and other reasons, the circulation in your feet slows down and this may lead to crystals forming and blocking the energy terminals in the feet.

According to some Reflexologists, there are 3200 nerve endings in each foot. (Who counted them, no one knows). These nerve endings are all connected to some or other body part. This connection (link) between the foot and a specific part of the body is called a reflex as a result of these blockages in the terminal endings of the energy channels, sickness results. Reflexology treatment has the same effect as Acupuncture needles - it removes blockages that form when organs are under stress. (Huisgenoot 18/10/1990)

DIAGNOSIS OF SICKNESS

An experienced Reflexologist can "read" the feet like the blind can read braille. The feet, according to Reflexology, don't only reflect or expose the condition of the body but represent the body on a smaller scale. "Your whole body is represented in your feet", states a Reflexologist.

The spot where the problem is located is usually sensitive. In order to establish where the affected area lies, the fingers with or without the aid of an instrument, are used to place pressure on the foot. The sensitive spot will reflect which body part is in poor health.

THERAPY OR TREATMENT OF ILLNESSES

"The assumption is that everyone is naturally healthy and that the body can heal itself if given the chance." After diagnosis is made through the feet, therapy commences by massaging specific points on the foot. Pressure is applied to the trouble spot, and in so doing, the blockage is relieved. When the energy channels start opening after 10 - 30 minutes of massage, the body's healing power is activated. Wherever the pain or sensitivity is felt, indicates where the blockage is located. A Reflexologist commented as follows on the massaging process: "It detoxifies and stimulates the removal of toxic waste, helps correct imbalances and malfunctions, revitalizes and rejuvenates, and improves circulation.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF REFLEXOLOGY

1. Reflexology is an off-shoot of acupuncture as it has the same philosophical and religious source. "Reflexology is a unique method of acupressure on the reflex points of the feet, relieving stress....." says one Reflexologist.

Acupuncture uses needles and Aromatherapy oils, which are massaged into the acupuncture points. Reflexology differs from these as it only uses the acupressure points of the foot soles. All these quasi-healing techniques lie on the same plain and deserve the same judgment:

(a) Both in the application of Acupuncture and Reflexology it depends on keeping the YIN - YANG balance. The first technique uses needles and the second massage. Practically all New-Age therapies such as Homeopathy, Yoga, Acupuncture, Hypnotherapy, Acupressure, Chiropractics, Therapeutic Touch, Macrobiotics (an Eastern diet that teaches that the correct energy-laden food must be eaten to maintain a balance) are based on the idea that sickness is caused by an imbalance, a blockage of energy.

(b) The traditional twelve meridians are adapted to ten ZONES to correspond with the number of toes. This Modification of an age-old Chinese healing art was introduced by Dr Fitzgerald.

(c) The macro-micro cosmos principle, namely that the eyes (iridology), hands, feet, and ears are a tiny screen or monitor of what is happening in the body as a whole, is a TAOISTIC - BUDDHISTIC philosophy and a fortuneteller technique which dates back to I CHING the Chinese / Buddhist bible.

(d) In order to make these heathen, demonic healing practices acceptable to Christians and Westerners, the CHI or KI powers are described as magnetic rays or cosmic energy These innocent-sounding terms describe the wolf parading in sheep's clothing. The 'spirit' involved in Reflexology, although given attractive sounding names e.g. "energy emanations from the earth," "magnetic rays", or "energy", is demonic. Reflexology is white magic, and those who consult Reflexologists allow these Taoistic demons to influence their lives. The Bible opposes this in Ephesians 4:27:

"Do not give the Devil a foothold."

(e) As in the case of Acupuncture, anesthesia (numbing) can also be obtained by massaging the foot to make it possible to operate on a specific part of the body.

2. There is no scientific proof for the existence of energy channels and the crystals that supposedly cause the blockages. "We in Scientific medicine are unaware of any nervous connections between the soles of the feet, and all the areas said to be linked in this way by Reflexologist," says Andrew Stanway in his book: "Alternative Medicine (1979)". Roy Livesey, in his book: "Understanding Alternative Medicine" and others confirm the above statement.

According to Dr W.J Ouweneel, the ancient Chinese knew drugs but none of the nerve channels. The existence of meridians or channels has never been proved physiologically. The Reflexologists Kevin and Barbara Kuns confess in the book, "Any Reflexologist will tell you that it is not clear why or how it works, it just works." It cannot be denied that people may be helped by applying Reflexology, but the question is what god and spirit are involved? It is definitely not the God of the Bible.

3. MASSAGE BOARDS, HEALTH SHOES

These items are marketed country-wide. The fiberglass boards and shoes are covered with knobs. As prescribed, a patient is to spend 10-15 minutes per day walking on the boards - the effect being the same as when walking barefoot on pebbles as they do in some parts of the world. The shoes work on the same principle. The expectation is the alleviation of tension and pain, and it promises weight loss, calmness, an improvement in sexual performance, removal of kidney stones, relief from constipation, and so forth. The board is supposed to be scientifically designed to massage 650 pressure points under the feet. Superstition states that walking on these boards stimulates and massages the whole body.

(a) Medical service has become expensive. Purchasing a board that supposedly heals all your ailments is far cheaper. You simply massage your feet to clear up your headache.

(b) Many people have become disillusioned by conventional medicine's negative results and reflexology side effects.

(c) Eastern superstitions are sold under the pretense that they are a scientific and natural solution to illness.

(d) As people are desperate to become well, they will turn to anything that promises healing.

4. Can the rapid growth of interest in Reflexology not be attributed to the above reasons? A few years ago, it was known to very few. In 1966 the American Medical Association (AMA) still referred to it as yet another 'unscientific cult." Today it receives recognition as a prevalent healing practice.

Inge Dougans. director of the International School of Reflexology and Meridian Therapy, reports in an article in the

Huisgenoot issue of 18 October 1990 that approximately 1000 Sooth Africans have qualified as Reflexologists over the past seven years. What is the reason?

(a) The training involved in Reflexology is of shorter duration, cheaper, and more accessible than Medical training.

(b) A common complaint is that the patient-doctor relationship is often business-like as opposed to that of the practitioners of alternate medicine, such as Homeopaths and Reflexologists. They have a more intimate, physical, relaxed relationship with their patients. They often spend more time with the patient and appear to be less stressed and pressurized. Psychologically, the patient receives more satisfaction from the personal contact (massage) and attention than from the more formal attitude of the medical doctor.

5. Dr Samuel Pfeifer gives his opinion of Christians who see no harm in the philosophical background of Reflexology and, therefore see no wrong in the appreciation of this therapy:

"There are certainly reflex zone therapists who want nothing to do with its philosophical background. Or the frequently involved occult practices. Among them are sincere Christians who even try to provide counseling during therapy if the opportunity arises."

"Nonetheless, they cannot be spared the reproach of indirectly promoting a philosophy that has its origin in

Eastern mysticism has already led many away from the Gospel. Moreover, the medical value of Reflexologists is minimal. Even when the therapist is a Christian."

6. Reflexology is a part of the New Age movement. 7. Old superstitions regarding the spilling of salt, walking under a ladder, the number 13, and others are now only sometimes accepted by those in civilized Western Society. Instead, they have been replaced by superstitions from the East, such as Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Homoeopathy, power generated by crystals, hypnotherapy and pyramidology, etc. Reflexology is, however, more than just an Eastern superstition .... it is a therapy based on occultism.

8. The traditional black witch doctor uses a bag of bones to forecast an illness. Others use iridology (eyes) or palm reading, and Reflexologists use the feet to diagnose an illness. All these diagnostic methods are variations of witchcraft and come under the judgment of GOD (Deuteronomy 18:9-12). According to Dr. Kurt Koch and Dr. W.J Ouweneel, Reflexologists use an extrasensory power of a touch, a variation of the occultic power to see (clairvoyance). A person's health no longer depends on God but on how you treat your feet. As someone once said: "my badly treated feet influence my daily well-being." Man, it is incredibly naive to believe this superstition and hogwash.

9. Sin may play a role in sickness, the Bible tells us, but Reflexologists, however, make no allowance for this Biblical principle.

10. For the Christian, the Bible is the yardstick for healing and tells you what to do when sick (James 5:14-16). If only people would examine their hearts for sin (rather than their feet), they would receive more than physical healing. But the devil's strategy is to keep man's eyes off the real cause of illness.

Reflexology cannot be reconciled with Science or the Bible and is a demonically inspired prescription for healing based on the health principles of Taoism. Whoever uses Reflexology rejects the God of the Bible and turns to an idol for healing.

11. Establish beforehand that the physiotherapist or masseur who treats you does not use Acupuncture points on the body or the principles of Reflexology. Ask him/her to be very clear about this. Don't let the fact that he/she may confess to being a Christian deceive you.

12. Dr Samuel Pfeifer warns in his book: "Healing at any Price," that many Reflexologists seem to use powers in their therapy which does not originate in God. The experience of counselors has shown repeatedly that physical contact can be a bridge for demonic powers to enter another person. Spiritistic books recommend holding hands during a seance for every participant to experience the energy of the spirit. The dangers of undiscerning submission to the laying on of hands should not be underestimated, even in a religious gathering.

In the Huisgenoot issue of 19 May 1983, a Reflexologist is quoted as saying: "Personal touch is important. It was possible to transfer my healthy energy to the patient." This confirms what Koch and Pfeifer said - that demons are transmitted to the patient by consulting these healers. The DEVIL is behind the 'success' of Reflexology.

Dr Samuel Pfeifer relates the testimony of Mrs Black in his book: "When he rubbed the headache zone on my big toe, I suddenly saw this absent-minded expression on his face, as if he were in a trance. I asked him, 'What are you doing?' He replied: 'I am concentrating on channeling vital energy into your body.' The next day, when I tried to have my quiet time as usual, I felt no more joy in Bible reading and prayer. I realized what I had dabbled in and asked Jesus Christ to forgive me."

See to it that no one makes a prey of you by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the universe, and not according to Christ. Col 2:8
