The Dispensation of Consciousness: Understanding Man’s Test of Obedience

The Dispensation of Consciousness: Understanding Man’s Test of Obedience

The Dispensation of Consciousness: Understanding Man’s Test of Obedience

By Teresa Morin, President of Touch of God Int’l Ministries of Healing and Deliverance

Man’s journey on earth is fundamentally a test of obedience to his own conscience. We live in what is known as the Dispensation of Consciousness — a time when God allows man full freedom to obey or disobey the inner voice of conscience without fear of human law enforcement (Romans 2:12-16).

What Did Adam Really Break?

Many assume that Adam fell because he broke the Ten Commandments. However, the commandments were given much later through Moses. Adam’s sin was disobedience to a direct command from God not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16-17). This act opened man’s eyes to self-consciousness — an awareness of good and evil — which did not exist before the fall.

What is the Dispensation of Consciousness?

Conscience is defined as the moral faculty by which we discern right from wrong, approving or condemning our actions. Before the fall, Adam and Eve were “God-conscious” — fully aware and obedient to God’s will. After the fall, they became “self-conscious,” aware of sin and their own moral state.

This period, called the Dispensation of Consciousness, lasted approximately 1,656 years—from Adam’s creation to the time of Noah. During this time, man was tested to obey the inner voice of conscience and God’s revealed will without the external law written on stone tablets.

Types of Conscience in Scripture

The Bible references various states of conscience, including:

  • Seared conscience (1 Timothy 4:2): Hardened against conviction.

  • Awakened conscience (John 8:9): Sensitive to sin.

  • Pure conscience (Acts 24:16): Clear of guilt.

  • Weak conscience (1 Corinthians 8:7): Easily troubled.

  • Defiled conscience (Titus 1:15): Stained by sin.

  • Witnessing conscience (Romans 2:12-15): Bears testimony to right and wrong.

  • Good conscience (1 Timothy 1:5): Acts in love and truth.

  • Convicting conscience (Genesis 3:10; Matthew 27:3): Brings awareness of sin.

God’s Promise and Man’s Test

After the fall, God did not abandon mankind. In Genesis 3:15, God revealed His plan for redemption through the seed of the woman—Christ. Man was given a probation period to prove his faith and obedience. God clothed Adam and Eve with animal skins, symbolizing the blood of Christ that would one day cover all sin.

Man knew God was just and merciful. Though sin brought a curse upon the earth, God offered a way to be reconciled through faith and obedience. The tabernacle was established as a place where offerings and sacrifices could be made for sin, teaching man to come to God in repentance.

The Test of Man’s Conscience

Genesis 4:7 gives insight into man’s test: “If you do well, will you not be accepted?” God required man to refuse evil and trust in the coming Redeemer. Man lost the power to do good on his own but gained the ability to do evil. The early generations realized they needed God’s help to live righteously and reclaim dominion lost to evil spirits.

Today, the moment a person acknowledges their sin and calls on God for deliverance, they are heard. They become new creatures in Christ—born again and empowered to overcome flesh, world, and devil (Ephesians 2:1-19; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

God’s Purpose in the Dispensation of Consciousness

God’s goal was to teach man that true happiness, health, and prosperity come from obedience to Him. Man was given freedom of will to choose between serving God or Satan. This freedom tested the heart and revealed man’s true nature.

Man did not have laws yet but had an inner knowledge of righteousness, a conscience that pointed to what was good or evil. The test was voluntary service—a choice to conform to God’s principles or to live for self.

Why Free Will?

God allowed man to experience sin to teach vital lessons about the consequences of selfishness and rebellion. Evil spirits were permitted to operate to demonstrate man’s need for divine help and submission to God’s will.

Man’s conscience revealed the depths of sinfulness possible when choosing rebellion, showing how far man would go before God intervened for His eternal plan.

Biblical Examples and Present Day Relevance

Scripture shows God’s intervention in cases like Noah’s flood and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, which were responses to extreme rebellion and lawlessness.

Today, we witness a world steeped in lawlessness and rebellion. The rising wickedness foretells the coming tribulation and the ultimate battle of Armageddon.

Why Is This Age Called the Dispensation of Conscience?

This age centers on man’s conscience—the inner voice guiding decisions. It is a period of testing, where man must choose obedience without the full external law of Moses, relying on faith and the inner conviction God has placed within.

Final Thoughts

God’s desire is for all to choose Him freely, embrace righteousness, and return to the original state of fellowship and dominion. This Dispensation of Consciousness reminds us that the battle is always within—between the flesh and spirit, good and evil.

If you feel weighed down by sin or spiritual oppression, know there is hope through Jesus Christ. Call upon God today to be delivered, healed, and restored.

Try These Uncommon Paths to Mental Clarity

Try These Uncommon Paths to Mental Clarity

Try These Uncommon Paths to Mental Clarity

Photo via Pexels

There’s no shortage of mental health advice floating around these days—hydrate, meditate, journal, repeat. And while the fundamentals matter, I’ve often found the more transformative shifts come from the least expected corners. As a writer navigating the overlapping chaos of deadlines, city life, and an occasionally overactive mind, I’ve tried just about every self-care strategy available. Some worked. Others felt like rebranded to-do lists. What I’ve uncovered, through trial, error, and many internal negotiations, are lesser-known ways to tend to the psyche.

Use Boredom as a Diagnostic Tool

Instead of reaching for your phone the next time you're bored, pay attention to what that silence stirs up. Boredom isn’t the enemy—it’s an X-ray. It reveals where your restlessness lives, what you’re avoiding, and what you’re craving. I've learned more about my mental patterns by sitting in quiet discomfort than I ever did through a 10-minute mindfulness app. Boredom stretches your internal landscape and makes space for suppressed thoughts to rise. Let them.

Make a Bold Move

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do for yourself is press pause, reroute, and choose a life that aligns more with who you are now than who you once were. By earning a degree in psychology, for instance, you can study the cognitive and affective processes that drive human behavior so you can support those in need of help; for more info, take a closer look at the programs designed for working adults and late bloomers alike. Online degrees make it possible to pivot without pressing stop on the rest of your life, offering flexibility without compromising on depth.

Curate Your “Emotional Contraband” Playlist

Everyone talks about happy playlists, but there’s a different kind of healing in giving yourself permission to feel it all. Make a playlist that houses every song you secretly love but pretend you don’t. Include those emotionally messy tracks—grief-soaked ballads, bittersweet anthems, even that embarrassing boy band hit from middle school. When you play it, let yourself go there. Embrace the cringe, the nostalgia, the ache. Emotion, when unbottled, metabolizes. Music is one of the safest catalysts for that process.

Redesign Your “Thinking Spots”

Your environment is a co-author in your mental health. Take a hard look at where you typically spiral—your bed, kitchen table, and your apartment's cursed corner. Reclaim one of those spots with new sensory associations. Light a different candle. Move the furniture. Paint a wall. The mind can be conditioned, but so can your surroundings. A visual shift often breaks repetitive internal loops.

Adopt a Tiny, Secret Ritual

Rituals aren’t just for religion or brunch. They’re anchors in the fog. Create a small, daily act that means something only to you. Maybe it’s stirring honey into your tea with a specific spoon. Maybe you whisper a nonsense phrase before locking your door. Whatever it is, don’t explain it to anyone. Private rituals provide structure without rigidity, and a sense of sacredness in the mundane. Your nervous system notices.

Learn to Crave Silence in Conversations A lot of our mental unrest comes from trying to fill silence too quickly—especially in conversation. Practice letting it linger. Count to four after someone finishes speaking before you respond. Let the quiet do some of the emotional heavy lifting. People often clarify themselves in that space or say what they meant. This skill makes you a better listener and teaches your brain to be less reactive and more contemplative. It’s powerful and disarming in the best way.

Treat Your Curiosity Like a Garden, Not a Firehose

Most of us are chronically over-informed and under-inspired. Instead of chasing every news alert or podcast, nurture one slow-growing interest. That might mean reading one book deeply over a month instead of a dozen headlines. Or explore a single topic—like mushrooms, old postcards, or 1970s architecture—just because it lights something up in you. Curiosity for its own sake is wildly restorative. It returns you to a childlike mindset, where exploration isn’t outcome-driven. That’s medicine for the modern brain.

Improving your mental health isn’t a checkbox—it’s an evolving creative act. It requires experimentation, humor, and a willingness to look a little weird now and then. You don’t need to burn sage or quit caffeine (unless you want to). You need to get curious about the small decisions shaping your inner world. The most lasting changes often come from the least conventional moves. Discover the path to healing and spiritual freedom with Healing and Deliverance Ministry, where personalized prayer and faith-based guidance await to transform your life.

What you need to know about Familar Spirits

Familiar Spirit: What You Need to Know

Familiar Spirit: What You Need to Know

Have you ever heard the term "familiar spirit" and wondered what it actually means? In the Strong's Concordance, a familiar spirit is referred to as Hebrew #178, which is associated with prattling, mumbling, and necromancy. This term is used to describe an object that is identified by the sound it produces. However, in the context of spirituality and the supernatural, familiar spirits take on a whole different meaning.

Understanding Familiar Spirits in Scripture

In Dake's Bible, it is mentioned that familiar spirits are actually demon spirits that possess mediums. These mediums willingly give their will to these spirits, allowing them to imitate dead human beings, make predictions, and promote various doctrines. One clear biblical example of this can be found in the books of 1 Samuel and 1 Chronicles. In 1 Samuel 28, it appears that Samuel actually appears to Saul. Still, in 1 Chronicles 10:13, it is clarified that it was, in fact, a familiar spirit impersonating Samuel.
So, in essence, familiar spirits are deceptive entities that can mimic deceased individuals or even angels to deceive people seeking guidance or information from the spiritual realm. This deception can lead individuals down dangerous and dark paths if they are not careful.

Familiar Spirits in Modern Context

In modern times, the term familiar spirit is often used to describe evil spirits shared among a group of people, such as within a family or close friends. These spirits are seen as familiar because they are known and recognized by all group members. They can influence the thoughts, actions, and behaviors of individuals, leading them astray from their true spiritual path.

It is crucial to be aware of the presence of familiar spirits and guard against their influence. By staying grounded in your faith and seeking guidance from trusted spiritual advisors, you can protect yourself from falling victim to these deceptive entities.

How to Guard Against Familiar Spirits

One way to protect yourself from the influence of familiar spirits is to cultivate a strong spiritual foundation. This can be done through prayer, meditation, and seeking guidance from reputable spiritual leaders. By maintaining a close connection to your faith and staying vigilant against deceptive spirits, you can safeguard your soul and avoid falling into darkness.

Additionally, being mindful of the company you keep and the environments you expose yourself to can also help ward off familiar spirits. Surround yourself with positive, uplifting influences and steer clear of individuals or situations that may invite negative spiritual energies into your life.

In conclusion, familiar spirits are real entities that can profoundly impact an individual's spiritual journey. By understanding their nature and being proactive in guarding against their influence, you can stay on the path of light and truth. Stay vigilant, stay grounded in your faith, and remember that you have the power to protect yourself from the deceptive schemes of familiar spirits.

The Truth Behind Yoga

Yoga: The Truth Behind the Practice

Yoga: The Truth Behind the Practice

Introduction:
In recent years, yoga has gained immense popularity as a form of exercise and relaxation. Many people turn to yoga to improve their physical and mental well-being. However, there is a darker side to this seemingly harmless practice that often goes unnoticed. Let's delve into the truth behind yoga and its potential dangers.

Is Yoga Really Harmless?

Many believe yoga is simply a series of physical exercises to improve flexibility and strength. However, most people don't realize that yoga is deeply rooted in Hindu spirituality. The word "yoga" itself means "to yoke" or "to unite," referring to the union of the individual soul with the universal soul. This spiritual aspect of yoga is often overlooked by practitioners who view it as simply a form of exercise.

The Hidden Dangers of Yoga

While yoga poses like downward dog and warrior pose may seem innocent enough, they are actually designed to open up the chakras in the body. According to some religious scholars, these chakras are channels that can be gateways for demonic possession or spiritual influences. The chanting and breathing exercises often incorporated into yoga practices are believed to further open up these channels, making practitioners vulnerable to negative spiritual entities.

Christian Perspective on Yoga

From a Christian standpoint, the practice of yoga is seen as incompatible with Christian beliefs. The act of emptying the mind during meditation, a standard yoga practice, goes against the biblical teaching of meditating on the word of God. Opening oneself up to spiritual influences through yoga can lead to attachment by demonic forces, resulting in spiritual torment.

Conclusion

While yoga may offer physical benefits, it is essential to know the spiritual dangers associated with the practice. Christians and those of faith should exercise caution when engaging in yoga and seek alternative forms of exercise that do not compromise their spiritual beliefs. Remember, true peace and well-being can only be found through a relationship with God, not through yoga.

Remember, prioritizing your spiritual well-being is essential above all else. Don't let the allure of yoga cloud your judgment and lead you down a dangerous path. Stay strong in your faith and seek guidance from trusted spiritual leaders if you have doubts about engaging in yoga. Yoga may promise physical benefits, but at what cost to your soul? Choose wisely and prioritize your spiritual health above all else.

kundalini spirit vs holy spirit videos

 Kundalini spirit vs. Holy spirit

Watch the videos and learn about the Kundalini Spirit Symptoms that is demonic in nature.

Deliverance From Kundalini

Breaking the Kundalini spirit takes work. It requires multiple sessions to achieve success. Like Luke 11:21-22, which deals with the strongman, it holds in lesser demons. The Kundalini spirit pushes up the less-powerful Kundalini spirit first before eventually getting to the leading Kundalini spirit. In that order, you also deal with Leviathan, Python, cockatrice, Behemoth, and Jezebel. First, working with unforgiveness, self-unforgiveness, and breaking word curses spoken by the enemy and people. Then, we break curses or spells executed by witches, warlocks, root workers, or any practitioner of witchcraft. You also have to deal with vows and judgments made. Many other areas we look at to get the person free.

It involves repentance by casting out false religion, occult activities, and more that may have come in through your ancestors.

Being involved with New Age, Eastern religions, false religions (Jehovah's Witness, Muslim, Mormons, Cabala) occult activities, witchcraft, and sexual perversion can open the door to Kundalini.

Overcoming Trials and Tribulations of Life

  trials and tribulations

Part 2 -

Overcoming Trials and Tribulations

I once was a partner of another ministry, and the Lord called me out of the partnership. Unfortunately, the partner was upset with me. She thought we were to serve together forever. In my heart, I would have liked to have served together in our calling. God's plans are higher than ours. She felt betrayed by me. She didn't understand or believe the Lord was calling me in another direction.

In this life, you will have trials and tribulations. The pain is deep by losing reputation, betrayal by another, misunderstandings, or the other person believing you are betraying them. Even if they think you made a promise but the other person did not hear the other part, I said many years ago that when I got too busy for God, I was going to lay it down, and man, God made me live up to that.

I knew I had to obey Him. Many times He takes partnerships and pulls them apart. Sometimes it is a test to serve Him and man. I was trying to figure out why or what, but he was taking us differently. Did Abraham understand when the Lord told him to leave and go to a strange land? I don't think so.

Anyway, in the relationship, with my best friend previously, I was the betrayer. I was leaving her. Unfortunately, it got ugly. No matter what I did, the friendship was under the test. I was under the test of following Jesus over my best friend. Was I willing to lose a long friendship? It was not easy.

Triumphs and Tribulations

Going through the trials and tribulations of pain, hurt, and loss, I had to see what Jesus went through when He hung on the cross to give us life spiritually and physically.  He came to overcome, and I can overcome, according to John 16:33.

"I have said these things to you, that you may have peace in me. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

Not only that, but the Lord is producing perseverance in me in accordance with Romans 5:3.

"More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,..." To overcome trials, we must see Him in a greater light that He truly is in control of our lives. To overcome the hurt, pain, and loss, is through praising Him by trusting Him.

When you are in a place of preparation and healing and restoration and waiting, you cannot be anxious, but the Lord will guard your heart and mind against the attacks of the enemy or temptations, according to Philippians 4:6-7.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

We serve such an awesome God of the Lord most high, and we can count those trials and tribulations as joy, according to James 1:2. It is not easy. How to overcome? Praying, fasting, staying in His Word, and standing on His promises of truth. It feels dark, like the dark night of the soul or a deep valley experience.

All we can do is "Count it all joy, my brothers when you meet trials of various kinds,"

It is not easy to give up something you love, birthed, and give your heart to and then have to lay it all down.  Also, give all the money, equipment, and everything else over and walk away. It feels like your heart is tearing to pieces.  I gave it all up according to the Lord Most High.  Some of the ministries have opinions of me that are not true.  Unfortunately, when your trials involve the other, rumors and gossip, accusations from many, and abandonment and loneliness. So, protect your heart. They don't know what took place, but that is part of God has to be your all so that you are not concerned about what others think.  My reputation is in the Lord and not man.

I would fix things in the past to only make it worse.  It is better to leave it alone and trust God.  God knows the truth, and that should count.  We get in trouble when we try to fix our reputation with men.  Could it be an idol - loved by all man?

Man always ruins others' reputations, and mine certainly was through several avenues of people - fiery darts. Praise the Lord! We do not fight flesh and blood.

I had to see these were fiery darts of testing according to 1 Peter 4:12.

"Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you as though something strange were happening to you."

Fiery darts come from people closest to you - friends, family, ministries, etc.  Again I had to remember Jesus on the cross saying Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.  I look that God is testing my heart and my reactions.  I can genuinely say I care for all these people regardless of what they think of me on Earth.  Their opinions do not matter.

These trials and tribulations, it is God's way to make you more like Him. I came to the place of laying down my reputation and realized I only serve the Lord and not man. No way can you make people happy all the time. People are not consistent, but God is.

The enemy wants to stop you and keep you in the past, so don't allow the storm around you to keep you from moving forward. Don't allow any person to steal your inheritance. Ensure you keep your heart correct and forgive continuously for what is happening around you. Do not be surprised. I would have to say these trials have given me a more profound love for people in God's way of love - not mine.

Isaiah 43:19 is what the Lord gave me:

19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. "

I love people, not what they can do for me or fulfill anything in me, but because my Lord Jesus Christ also loves them.

Even though I felt weak and broken, I knew I could do everything according to 2 Corinthians 12:9.

But he said to me,

"My grace is sufficient for you; my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."  What promises of the Lord when we feel weak, broken, and bleeding inside. We are made perfect in weakness because it is more of God and me out of the way.  That is how we are supposed to look at the weakest point.

I would have to say my faith was being tested, and many times just wanted to give up. Part of me just wanted to disappear or be absorbed by the air and not exist.  But, I knew that is what the Lord did not wish to do but for me to get back up, go forward even in my weakness, and count it all joy according to James 1:2-8.

"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. ... "

My faith has been strengthened.  I'm not the same person.  It now takes a lot to take me down.  I see God in all situations and that he is working it out regardless if I can see it or not, like Heb. 11:1 - I cannot go by what I see but what I cannot see and trust God's word and praise him for the excellent result even though it is not happening.

That means standing firm and not being frightened.  You cannot be afraid of your enemies.  When you have a ministry, you have enemies.  Just like Joshua, I was going into new territory and could not be afraid, according to Joshua 1:9

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

I hope this helps someone in the ministry and being attacked with fiery darts to not give up.  Because all these things are tests of faith, according to 1 Peter 1:7.

"So that the tested genuineness of your faith more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ."

In conclusion, it was the best thing I ever did. The Lord took me to many countries, ministering healing and deliverance in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Following the Lord is sweet - the Greater the trial, the greater the victory. I've had opportunities to see people get free and move forward.

Steps:

  • Continuously forgive others - we do not fight flesh and blood
  • Keep your eyes on the Lord. Stand on the promises of the Lord and don't waiver.
  • Fast and pray frequently to hear the Lord clearly in those hard dark hours.
  • Remember, the Lord is for you and not against you, and He never changes but is consistent.
  • Keep your eyes on Him and not the circumstances happening around you.
  • Determine to stay on course.

Jesus Came to Set the Captives free - W11723

Jesus Came to Set the Captives free. Shouldn't We Do the Same?

Deliverance Ministry Article

Jesus Came to Set the Captives Free

A deliverance minister is a person God has specially prepared for this work: teaching, ministry, and biblical counseling. As Christians, we should all be setting the captives free.

There are special situations where it takes more experience than the ordinary Christian would have to deal with someone coming out of witchcraft, deep into the cult, a new age where a person experiences demonic attacks, etc.

The work of the Gospel is supposed to be done as a team (1 Cor 3:5-15). Some ministers are experts at teaching, preaching, pastoring, administering, organizing, counseling, praying, etc.

set the captives free scriptures

It was a big part of Jesus' ministry. He brought deliverance to many people such as Matt 18:18-20 - bind, loose, and agree; Mark 16:15-20 - Go ye into all the world (the church), cast out demons; Luke 4:18-20 - preach deliverance to the captives - sets at liberty them that are bruised; Luke 7:21-23 - Minister to the "blind, lame, lepers, deaf, dead, and the poor;" Acts 8:5-7 Preaching the Word - unclean spirits came out - healing by deliverance.

If you are in bondage and cannot get free, you can try other things that could help you get free:

  1. Repent for your sins, receive the Lord's forgiveness, and forgive yourself. Don't allow the enemy to condemn you when you have repented to the Lord.
  2. Fasting is a great way to break bondages from the enemy. God's word says in Isaiah 58:6-7 “Is this not the fast which I chose, to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and break every yoke?"
  3. Be in the Word every day. Start reading and memorizing the Word. The Word is like water that washes you clean. It also renews your mind
Home Security - Overcome Overwhelmed Emotions

4. Watch your thoughts when tempted to sin. It takes seven steps to sin James 1:13-15

13 "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death."
What causes a person to sin? Entertaining the thought that gets conceived. The trick is to stop the thought and cast it down by 2 Cor. 10:5. Change your thought. That leads us to Step 5.
Live Oder free spray

5. Thanksgiving and Worship: Start remembering the good things the Lord has done for you. Give Him praise and thanksgiving. That will get your mind off the sin issue and refocus on the goodness of the Lord. Then, you will not want to sin.

One thing to remember is you may fall again. Dash to the Lord, repent, so when guilt, shame, or accusation comes your way, you can tell the enemy you are forgiven. Don't receive the guilt. Second, forgive yourself.

The entire bible is based on these three things: 1. Love God, 2. Love Others, 3. Love yourself. That means forgiving yourself.

If you are still in bondage, stuck, tormented, or broken, you may need some help and receive deliverance.
Salad Power

Whenever there is any breach in these three areas, a feeling of separation from God happens. The bible is all about love. We are His creation. I've seen too many people who cannot forgive themselves for their past sins. We must appropriate the Word of God of truth to break free from bondages of self-hatred.
