The Ankh: A Pagan Symbol Christians Must Reject

The Ankh: A Pagan Symbol Christians Must Reject

exposing ankh practices

Spiritual Symptoms:
Deep fear, tormenting dreams, or sleep paralysis (Job 4:13-16)
Hearing voices or seeing demonic figures
Resistance or hatred toward prayer, Scripture, or godly environments
Sudden unexplained sickness or prolonged misfortune
Involuntary involvement in occult rituals or blood covenants
Emotional/Mental Symptoms:
Severe depression, confusion, suicidal thoughts (Mark 5:1-5)
Compulsive thoughts and uncontrollable behavior

The Ankh is a popular symbol in jewelry, artwork, and spiritual circles today, but Christians need to understand its true meaning and origins before using or wearing it. Though it may appear as a harmless design, the Ankh is deeply rooted in paganism and occultism, and its use can have profound spiritual consequences.

What is the Ankh?

The Ankh is a cross with a looped top, often called the “key of life” or “crux ansata.” It originated in ancient Egypt and symbolizes eternal life, reincarnation, and the union of male and female energies. The Ankh was closely associated with the Egyptian gods, particularly Osiris, Isis, and Horus, the pagan trinity. These gods were worshipped alongside Amen-Ra, the sun god, as part of a broader polytheistic belief system condemned by the Bible.

Who Invented and Used the Ankh?

The Ankh was used by ancient Egyptian priests, pharaohs, and occult practitioners during religious rituals. Today, it is found in New Age spirituality, modern witchcraft, and even Satanic rites. Some occultists believe the Ankh holds spiritual power to channel energy or invoke protection, making it a functional talisman in magical practices.

Why Christians Must Avoid the Ankh

God commands His people to avoid paganism and anything associated with idol worship: “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3). Wearing or using symbols like the Ankh—no matter how fashionable or artistic—aligns Christians with spiritual forces that are not of God. Many deliverance ministers warn that such symbols can open doors to demonic oppression or manifestation, especially when worn or displayed in ignorance.

Conclusion

The Ankh is not just a historical relic or decorative item. It is a symbol steeped in pagan worship, occult meaning, and demonic influence. Christians are called to be set apart and walk in the light of Christ. Let us reject all forms of spiritual compromise and cling to the cross of Jesus, the only true source of eternal life, not a counterfeit from Egypt’s dark past.

Methods of discernment:

• Who was the founder of this modality?

• What was his/her spirituality?

• What culture did it come out of?

• What were their beliefs?

• Who is their God or gods?

Many occult practices in Christianity need to be discerned.  Another method of discernment is the word of God. The word of God is our measuring stick. The more we read the word, know the word, and have a relationship with the Lord, the more we discern right and wrong. We perish from a lack of knowledge.

Why Christians Should Avoid the Zodiac

Why Christians Should Avoid the Zodiac

why christians should avoid zodiac

Spiritual Symptoms:
Deep fear, tormenting dreams, or sleep paralysis (Job 4:13-16)

Resistance or hatred toward prayer, Scripture, or godly environments
Sudden unexplained sickness or prolonged misfortune
Involuntary involvement in occult rituals or blood covenants
Emotional/Mental Symptoms:
Severe depression, confusion, suicidal thoughts (Mark 5:1-5)
Compulsive thoughts and uncontrollable behavior

Birth signs, zodiac signs, and astrology have become mainstream, offering daily horoscopes and personality insights based on the alignment of celestial bodies at a person's birth. While these may seem like harmless entertainment or spiritual self-discovery, the origins and purpose of the zodiac are deeply rooted in paganism and occultism, making it spiritually dangerous for Christians.

Where Did Zodiac Signs Come From?

The zodiac system originated in ancient Babylonian astrology, later adopted and modified by the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, and other civilizations. These systems were based on the belief that the positions of stars and planets influence human destiny, personality, and events on earth—a belief that contradicts biblical teachings about God’s sovereignty.

Astrology is also closely linked with divination, where people seek spiritual knowledge or direction apart from God, often by interpreting signs or omens in creation rather than trusting the Creator.

“Do not practice divination or seek omens.” — Leviticus 19:26
“There shall not be found among you anyone... who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens… For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord.” — Deuteronomy 18:10-12

Why Christians Should Reject Astrology

  1. It replaces trust in God with trust in creation.
Astrology teaches that your personality and future are shaped by the stars, not by the God who made you.

  2. It opens the door to deception and demonic influence.
Many who follow horoscopes become spiritually entangled, experiencing anxiety, confusion, and even torment.

“They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator.” — Romans 1:25

  1. It invites demonic infestation.
When we seek spiritual direction outside of God’s Word, we invite demonic spirits to influence our lives, even unknowingly.

Freedom Is Found in Christ

If you’ve practiced astrology or followed horoscopes, repent, renounce those practices, and turn to Jesus Christ, who alone is the author of your identity and future.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

Why Christians Must Reject Automatic Writing: A Biblical Warning Against Psychography

Why Christians Must Reject Automatic Writing: A Biblical Warning Against Psychography

Why Christians Must Reject Automatic Writing: A Biblical Warning Against Psychography

In an age where spiritual experiences are increasingly sought outside the Bible, automatic writingpsychography—has grown in popularity. This practice involves entering a meditative or trance-like state and allowing a spiritual entity to write messages through the person’s hand, often without their conscious control. While it is usually marketed as a method of channeling divine guidance, creativity, or communication from the dead, automatic writing is deeply occult in nature and forbidden by God.

What Is Automatic Writing?

Automatic writing occurs without the writer's conscious will, often while in a trance or altered state. Practitioners believe that spirits—whether "angels," "ascended masters," or deceased individuals—guide the hand to deliver messages from the spiritual realm.

This practice has become popular in New Age circles, spiritualist movements, and even some forms of psychology and “inner healing.” But no matter how it is presented, the source of the messages is not the Holy Spirit, and the activity is not biblically sound.

The Spiritual Origins of Psychography

Automatic writing has deep roots in spiritism, which emerged prominently in the 19th century through mediums such as the Fox Sisters, Allan Kardec, and other Spiritualist leaders. These individuals openly claimed to receive messages from spirits of the dead, a practice strictly forbidden in Scripture.

Spiritualism borrows heavily from Eastern religions, occult traditions, and mediumistic practices that rely on entering altered states of consciousness, often under demonic influence.

“When they say to you, ‘Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter,’ should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?” — Isaiah 8:19

The spirits involved in automatic writing are not the departed souls of loved ones or angels from God—they are deceiving spirits that masquerade as messengers of light to lead people into spiritual bondage.

“For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” — 2 Corinthians 11:14

Why Automatic Writing Is Not Christian

  1. It bypasses the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.
Automatic writing assumes that the writer needs direct spiritual revelation outside the Bible. This is dangerous, as Scripture is the believers' complete and final authority.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16

  2. It involves surrendering your will to unknown spiritual entities.
True Christian communication with God is intentional, conscious, and led by the Holy Spirit, not done through trance or unconscious activity. Any spirit that takes control of your body or mind is not from God.

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons.” — 1 Timothy 4:1

  3. It opens the door to demonic infestation.
The practice of automatic writing creates a spiritual invitation to demons by giving them access to the human vessel. Many who engage in psychography experience nightmares, anxiety, voices, personality changes, and spiritual torment—signs of demonic oppression.

“Give no opportunity to the devil.” — Ephesians 4:27

  4. It violates God’s commands about divination and mediumship.
Automatic writing is a form of divination, attempting to gain supernatural knowledge through means God has forbidden.

“Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.” — Leviticus 19:31

The Deception of False Revelation

Many automatic writing practitioners claim that the messages they receive are “positive,” “loving,” or “wise.” But this is how deception works. Demons do not immediately reveal their evil—they imitate goodness to gain trust.

Some of the most well-known channeled texts (like A Course in Miracles) were received through automatic writing and contain teachings that directly contradict Scripture, denying sin, the deity of Christ, and the cross.

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God…” — 1 John 4:1

What Should Christians Do?

If you have ever engaged in automatic writing or related practices:

  • Repent and turn back to Jesus Christ.

  • Renounce all involvement in the occult and reject any messages received.

  • Destroy any notebooks, journals, or texts produced through automatic writing.

  • Ask God for cleansing and deliverance from any demonic attachments.

  • Seek help from mature Christian counselors or pastors if needed.

Conclusion: Reject the Counterfeit, Embrace the Truth

Automatic writing may seem like a mystical gateway to wisdom or connection, but it is a dangerous counterfeit that leads to spiritual bondage. God does not speak through altered states or disembodied spirits. He speaks clearly and powerfully through His Word and His Spirit.

Do not open the door to darkness disguised as light. Choose instead to trust in the voice of your Shepherd, Jesus Christ, who alone leads to life, peace, and truth.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” — John 10:27

Methods of discernment:

• Who was the founder of this modality?

• What culture did it come out of?

• What were their beliefs?

Why Christians Should Reject Aura Reading: Exposing the Spiritual Dangers Behind the Glow

Why Christians Should Reject Aura Reading: Exposing the Spiritual Dangers Behind the Glow

Why Christians Should Reject Aura Reading: Exposing the Spiritual Dangers Behind the Glow

In an increasingly spiritual but not biblical world, practices like aura reading are gaining popularity. Often marketed as energy insight or emotional awareness, aura reading claims to reveal your spiritual health by analyzing the "glow" or energy field around your body. But behind the soft colors and mystical language lies a much darker reality that Christians must avoid at all costs.

What Is Aura Reading?

Aura reading involves perceiving and interpreting a colored glow or energy field surrounding a person. Some practitioners claim to see these auras with their physical eyes, while others claim to use spiritual sensitivity or even photography to detect them. Each color in the aura represents a specific aspect of your emotional, physical, or spiritual state.

The practice is often tied to other New Age and occult concepts such as chakras, energy channels, Reiki, crystal healing, and psychic intuition. Readers examine the different layers of your aura and claim to offer healing or balance by clearing energy blockages.

At first glance, it may seem like a harmless or helpful tool for self-understanding, but its roots and spiritual implications are innocent.

The Occult Roots of Aura Reading

Aura reading has no biblical foundation and originates in Eastern mysticism, theosophy, and occultism. Concepts like energy fields, spiritual vibrations, and chakras come from Hinduism, Buddhism, and other non-Christian spiritual systems that deny the exclusive lordship of Jesus Christ.

The Bible warns us clearly about engaging in practices rooted in divination, sorcery, or consulting spiritual forces apart from God:

"Let no one be found among you... who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft... Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord." — Deuteronomy 18:10-12

Aura reading, by definition, involves tapping into a spiritual realm that is not under the authority of Jesus Christ. This is not a neutral activity—it is a form of divination, and Scripture consistently warns against it.

The Danger of Demonic Influence

What many don’t realize is that engaging in aura readings, even out of curiosity, can open the door to demonic influence and spiritual deception. The moment you seek spiritual insight or healing from a source other than the Holy Spirit, you step outside the covering of God’s protection.

“For Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” — 2 Corinthians 11:14

While aura readers may appear peaceful or kind, their spiritual realm is often a false light, rooted in deception. Many believers who have dabbled in aura readings or similar New Age practices later report experiences of spiritual confusion, tormenting thoughts, nightmares, anxiety, oppression, or even full-blown demonic infestation.

Satan does not care whether you directly worship him—he only wants to draw you away from worshiping the one true God.

The Lie of Energy Healing

Aura reading often goes hand in hand with energy healing, which suggests that you can be healed by aligning your energy field, balancing your chakras, or removing negative vibrations. This false healing bypasses the biblical requirement of repentance, faith in Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

True healing comes from God:

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3

When people place their trust in aura healing rather than Christ, they are not only being deceived—they are participating in a counterfeit form of spiritual care that can block them from experiencing the real power and presence of God.

What Should Christians Do?

If you have participated in aura reading—whether receiving or giving—you need to:

  1. Repent before God for opening spiritual doors outside of His will.

  2. Renounce the practice in the name of Jesus.

  3. Break all spiritual ties to aura reading, energy healing, and related New Age practices.

  4. Destroy any objects (books, crystals, aura photography) connected to this practice.

  5. Pray for deliverance, asking the Holy Spirit to cleanse and protect your life.

“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” — Ephesians 5:11

Conclusion: Choose Light Over False Light

Aura reading may appear gentle and spiritual, but it is a dangerous counterfeit of true spiritual discernment and healing. It directs people away from Jesus, invites demonic influence, and promotes doctrines that contradict the Bible.

Christians are called to walk in the light of God’s truth, not spiritual shadows that come dressed in colors. There is only one trustworthy source of healing, insight, and protection, and His name is Jesus Christ.

Why Christians Should Reject Attitudinal Healing: A Biblical Response to New Age Philosophy

Why Christians Should Reject Attitudinal Healing: A Biblical Response to New Age Philosophy

Why Christians Should Reject Attitudinal Healing: A Biblical Response to New Age Philosophy

In a culture fascinated with holistic wellness and self-help spirituality, Attitudinal Healing has emerged as a popular practice. It claims to foster physical, mental, and spiritual health by restructuring one’s mindset and adopting "proper" attitudes. While this may sound appealing, Christians must examine this method's origins and spiritual implications.

At its core, Attitudinal Healing teaches that we can transform our health and inner world by changing our thoughts and attitudes. The spirit, mind, and body are believed to be interconnected, and mental attitudes are treated as the key to healing and achieving life goals—emotional, physical, or spiritual. While Christians agree that mindset can impact behavior and health (Proverbs 23:7), the foundation of Attitudinal Healing is steeped in New Age and spiritistic beliefs that directly oppose the Word of God.

1. Self as the Source of Healing

Attitudinal Healing promotes the idea that you are the source of your own healing. It often emphasizes phrases like “inner truth,” “universal love,” or “divine self.” This approach subtly or overtly removes the need for Jesus Christ as the ultimate Healer and Savior. But Scripture is clear: God alone is our Healer.

“I am the Lord who heals you.” — Exodus 15:26

The Bible teaches that all true physical, emotional, or spiritual healing comes from God through Jesus Christ. Placing faith in one’s thoughts, mental states, or "inner divinity" leads to idolatry of self rather than worship of the Creator.

2. Spiritual Roots Contrary to Scripture

The philosophy behind Attitudinal Healing often includes New Age ideologies, such as reincarnation, universal consciousness, and spiritual relativism. These beliefs deny core Christian doctrines like sin, repentance, the exclusivity of Christ, and the authority of Scripture.

“See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition… and not according to Christ.” — Colossians 2:8

These practices reframe sin as merely a negative thought pattern, rather than rebellion against a holy God. In this view, healing becomes a process of self-actualization rather than restoration through Jesus. That is a dangerous spiritual counterfeit.

3. Mind Over God

While Scripture does emphasize renewing the mind (Romans 12:2), this renewal is through God’s Word and the Holy Spirit, not self-directed affirmations rooted in unbiblical worldviews. Attitudinal Healing teaches that if you align your mind correctly, your reality—including health and destiny—will follow. This places the power of healing and transformation in human willpower, not divine grace.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

Rather than submitting our thoughts to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5), Attitudinal Healing elevates human reasoning as the supreme guide. This leads people to trust in created things (thoughts, attitudes, energy) over the Creator.

4. Replacing Biblical Repentance with Emotional Positivity

Attitudinal Healing often encourages users to dismiss negative emotions, suppress guilt, and embrace a detached form of “forgiveness” that has no grounding in justice, truth, or repentance. Biblical healing begins with repentance (Acts 3:19), humility, and acknowledgment of sin. Simply shifting to a more "positive" attitude does not cleanse the soul—only the blood of Jesus can do that (1 John 1:7).

5. Healing Through Jesus, Not Techniques

Jesus never taught us to heal ourselves through mental reprogramming. While we are called to take thoughts captive and renew our minds, the Holy Spirit works in us to transform our hearts and minds. The healing that Jesus brings is holistic, but it flows from surrender, not self-sufficiency.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3

Conclusion: A Counterfeit of True Healing

Attitudinal Healing may look appealing, offering peace, control, and healing. But it is a subtle counterfeit of the true healing provided only through Jesus Christ. It redirects trust away from God and onto the self, promoting philosophies rooted in spiritual deception.

Christians are called to reject any practice that exalts man over God or replaces the gospel with human-centered methods. Healing is not about managing attitudes; it is about being transformed by the power and presence of Christ.

Let us not be deceived by ideas that promise wellness while denying the cross. Instead, let us hold fast to the truth that only Jesus saves, restores, and heals—completely and eternally.

Methods of discernment:

• Who was the founder of this modality?
