What The Bible Says About Body Piercing?

✨ What Does the Bible Say About Body Piercing? The Truth Christians Must Know

✨ What Does the Bible Say About Body Piercing? The Truth Christians Must Know

“Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom.”Song of Solomon 2:15

In this Scripture, the “little foxes” represent seemingly harmless things that destroy fruitfulness. Today, one of the issues affecting our youth is body piercing. Although it’s often seen as trendy or harmless, its spiritual implications are far more profound and dangerous than most realize.

🔍 Are Body Piercings Really Harmless?

In today’s culture, body piercings are often celebrated as a form of self-expression. Multiple ear piercings, nose rings, tongue studs, navel jewelry, and even intimate piercings are flaunted as fashion. But are these practices biblically sound? Or are they rooted in rebellion and spiritual deception?

Many don’t realize that body modification, including piercings and tattoos, has deep roots in occultism, witchcraft, and pagan worship. The Bible offers several warnings that align directly with this modern practice.

📖 What the Bible Really Says About Piercings and Cuttings

Leviticus 19:28 (KJV) commands:

“Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.”

This was a direct prohibition of pagan mourning rituals involving cutting and marking the body—customs tied to witchcraft and idol worship.

🩸 Piercings and False Religion

In 1 Kings 18:28, the prophets of Baal, in demonic frenzy,

“...cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.”

This gruesome act was a spiritual ritual aimed at summoning demonic power. Likewise, Deuteronomy 14:1 (AMP) says:

“You shall not cut yourselves or make any baldness on your foreheads for the dead.”

Body piercings and tattooing often stem from similar occultic roots, even if done today without that intent. Spiritual doors can still open regardless of ignorance.

📜 Biblical Connections Between Jewelry, Idolatry, and Rebellion

Genesis 35:2-4 tells of Jacob commanding his household to put away strange gods and their earrings before worship:

“They gave unto Jacob all the strange gods… and all their earrings... and Jacob hid them…”

In Exodus 32:2-3, the Israelites used earrings to form the golden calf—an act of rebellion. These examples show a symbolic link between body adornment and idolatry.

Isaiah 3:16-24 further condemns the vanity and pride associated with jewelry and piercing, stating that God would strip away such ornaments as judgment.

⚠️ Piercings: An Open Door to Demonic Influence

In Isaiah 3:18-23, jewelry is listed alongside spiritual pride and is judged by God. Some of the terms used—like "lachash"—are Hebrew words connected with sorcery and incantations, showing that jewelry was not just decorative but used for spells and demonic practices.

When we willingly mark or pierce our bodies—especially for reasons rooted in rebellion, vanity, or identity confusion—we create spiritual vulnerabilities. Piercings can act as spiritual “marks” or gateways through which demonic oppression enters.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Rebellion and Parental Dishonor

Many young people choose body piercings as acts of rebellion against parents or Christian upbringing. Yet the Bible says:

“Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long…”Exodus 20:12
“Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.”Colossians 3:20

Whether it’s defiance or an attempt to fit in, the motive matters to God.

💡 Vanity, Pride, and a Warning to Women

While some Christian women wear pierced earrings as a cultural norm, the Bible warns of the danger when such adornments reflect vanity and pride. Isaiah 3:16 describes women of Zion:

“...flirting with their eyes... ornaments jingling on their ankles...”

God is more concerned with the heart attitude than the jewelry itself—but if pride or rebellion is behind it, He will judge it.

🔥 What Would Jesus Do?

Jesus bore nail-pierced hands and feet—wounds inflicted by others for our redemption. He did not pierce or mark His body to express Himself. Why would His followers do the same?

Ask yourself: Would Jesus wear a tongue stud or a nose ring to express Himself?

🙏 Redemption is Available

If you’ve been involved in body piercing, even ignorantly, Jesus does not condemn you. He offers forgiveness, cleansing, and renewal. Repent and renounce all ties to rebellion, vanity, or occultic practices. Ask Him to close any doors opened by these acts and to restore your purity in body and spirit.

🤝 A Final Word to the Church

As revival sweeps through the youth, many will come to Christ carrying the residue of worldly habits—tattoos, piercings, music, and attitudes. The Church must walk in grace and truth—loving them deeply while teaching them holiness without compromise.

Be spiritual mothers and fathers. Speak truth. Show love. Guide them in the ways of the Lord without judgment.

Easter’s Pagan Origin: Why Christians Must Break Free from Babylon’s Lies

Easter’s Pagan Origin: Why Christians Must Break Free from Babylon’s Lies

Easter’s Pagan Origin: Why Christians Must Break Free from Babylon’s Lies

✦ Easter: A Pagan Holiday Cloaked in Christianity

Many Christians today unknowingly celebrate a festival rooted not in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but in Babylonian idolatry and occult worship. Easter, as we know it, is not found in the Bible in connection with Christ’s resurrection. Instead, its origins trace back to the goddess Ishtar—pronounced just like “Easter.”

✦ The Pagan Story Behind Easter

Ishtar, also known as Semiramis, was the wife and mother of Nimrod, a mighty hunter mentioned in Genesis 10:8-10. After Nimrod’s death, Semiramis claimed he had become the sun god, Baal, and that she was miraculously impregnated by his rays. She gave birth to Tammuz, believed to be a god-reincarnate.

Tammuz was killed by a wild boar, and the mourning of his death led to forty days of fasting and sorrow, known today as Lent—a practice not found anywhere in Scripture.

📖 “The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven…”Jeremiah 7:18

This queen of heaven is the same Ishtar, and the sacred cakes made for her have evolved into hot cross buns, marked with a “T” for Tammuz.

✦ Rabbits and Eggs: Fertility Symbols

Ishtar was the goddess of fertility, hence the rabbit—known for rapid reproduction—and the egg, symbolizing new life and goddess rebirth. According to Babylonian myth, Ishtar’s egg landed in the Euphrates River during the first full moon after the spring equinox. This is why Easter’s date is determined not by Passover but by astrological timingpagan lunar cycles.

✦ Sunrise Services: Modern Sun Worship

What about sunrise services? These may seem like a beautiful way to honor the resurrection, but their true origin lies in sun worship.

📖 “...and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD... were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.”Ezekiel 8:16

God called these abominations. Churches holding Easter sunrise services are unknowingly engaging in a practice that mimics the ancient worship of Baal, the sun god.

✦ The Demonic Manifestation of Pagan Practices

Engaging in pagan-rooted traditions—especially knowingly—opens spiritual gateways for demonic influence.

  • Families who decorate eggs or tell rabbit stories unknowingly honor fertility gods and offer spiritual homage to Ishtar.

  • Sunrise services, if not carefully rooted in biblical truth, mirror Baal worship and can provoke spiritual confusion or oppression.

  • Ancestral participation in these rituals—like preparing cakes for the Queen of Heaven (Jer. 7)—can activate generational curses, emotional turmoil, spiritual apathy, and even mental torment or physical ailments, as seen in Deuteronomy 28:15-68.

✦ Jesus and the True Passover

The resurrection of Jesus Christ should be celebrated during Passover, as He is our Passover Lamb (1 Corinthians 5:7). The early Church did not observe Easter as we know it today. The term “Easter” in Acts 12:4 (KJV) is a mistranslation of the word Pascha, which refers to the Passover, not the pagan festival.

📖 “Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.”1 Corinthians 5:7

✦ The Danger of Mixing Holy with Profane

📖 “What concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?”2 Corinthians 6:15

By blending pagan rituals with the worship of Christ, we grieve the Holy Spirit and bring ourselves under spiritual oppression. Even well-meaning Christians who participate ignorantly can experience spiritual blockage, demonic torment, and confusion.

📖 “Be not partakers with them... have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”Ephesians 5:7-11

✦ Come Out from Among Them

God calls His people to separate from Babylon and its seductive spiritual practices:

📖 “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”Revelation 18:4

This is a time of purification. God is calling His Church to repentance and truth.

✦ How to Be Free

If you or your ancestors have participated in Easter rituals—sunrise services, Lent fasting, Easter egg hunts, or cakes to the queen of heaven—you must repent and renounce these practices.

🔹 Break the generational curses.
🔹 Use anointed oil and speak deliverance prayers.
🔹 Pray the blood of Jesus over your household.
🔹 Remove all pagan items from your home.
🔹 Get deliverance ministry help if needed.

✦ Final Call to Action

✝️ Jesus came to set the captives free—not to blend with Babylonian mystery religions.

📖 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”John 4:24

The History of Halloween

The History of Halloween: Why Christians Should Not Participate

The History of Halloween: Why Christians Should Not Participate

“Mom, can I dress up like Casper this year?”
“Dad, can we carve a jack-o’-lantern for the porch?”

These innocent-sounding questions echo across homes every October. Children dressed as witches, superheroes, and ghosts excitedly run from house to house shouting “trick or treat!” Streets are adorned with cobwebs, skeletons, black cats, pumpkins, and eerie music. To most, it's just fun — harmless, silly, and all in good humor.

But is it?

For Christians striving to walk in truth, holiness, and spiritual discernment, Halloween poses deeper questions. Is it truly harmless? Or is there a spiritual cost hiding behind the costumes and candy?

To find the answer, we must examine the roots of Halloween, which reveal its deeply pagan and occult origins.

Halloween’s Pagan Foundation

Halloween finds its origins in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced “sow-in”), observed by the Druids, pagan priests of Ireland, Scotland, and Britain. October 31 marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of their spiritual new year.

Samhain was believed to be a time when the veil between the living and the dead was thinnest. The Celts believed that the lord of the dead, Samhain, released spirits to roam the earth. These spirits were thought to visit their former homes seeking hospitality. If ignored, they would bring curses or misfortune. To appease them, people left out food — the original “treat” — or else faced a “trick.”

Yes — the modern “trick or treat” is directly tied to this ancient occult ritual.

Jack-o’-Lanterns, Costumes, and Spirits

The jack-o'-lantern also originated from Celtic mythology. According to legend, a man named Jack was cursed to wander the earth with only a carved-out turnip and a burning coal inside. Eventually, this evolved into today's pumpkin lanterns, used to ward off spirits.

Costumes had a purpose too. People dressed as demons, witches, and animals to blend in with evil spirits, hoping to avoid attack or possession. Others wore masks to confuse wandering souls.

Decorations like witches, skeletons, and black cats stem from these occult practices. Black cats were especially feared because it was believed evildoers were reincarnated as cats — making them objects of suspicion and often harm.

Bonfires and Blood Sacrifices

On Halloween night, massive bonfires were lit atop hills to drive away evil. The Druids offered crops, animals, and even humans as sacrifices to their gods. These fire rituals were an attempt to gain favor and protection for the coming winter.

Though today’s Halloween may no longer include blood sacrifices, the spiritual roots remain unchanged. The symbols, customs, and spiritual themes are steeped in death, fear, darkness, and contact with the supernatural — all of which are forbidden in Scripture.

Ephesians 5:11 (KJV)“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

When Rome Mixed Paganism with Christianity

After the Roman conquest of the Celts around 43 A.D., the holiday was “Christianized” by merging it with All Saints’ Day (moved from May to November 1). The night before became All Hallows’ Eve, now known as Halloween.

Still, the traditions of honoring the dead, spiritual contact, and autumn rituals remained intact. Roman influences also introduced bobbing for apples, which honored Pomona, goddess of fruit and fertility.

Halloween, as we know it today, is a mixture of paganism, Roman mythology, and religious compromise — a counterfeit celebration dressed in fun.

Should Christians Celebrate Halloween?

Many well-meaning believers feel torn. They don't want their children left out. They argue that Halloween is just fun or that participating with a “lighthearted” spirit doesn’t mean endorsing evil.

But Scripture warns us not to mix holy with unholy:

2 Corinthians 6:14-15 (KJV)“What communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial?”

Whether we recognize it or not, the symbols, decorations, and traditions of Halloween glorify fear, death, darkness, and sorcery — the very things God commands us to avoid.

Final Thoughts

Halloween is not just a holiday — it's a deeply spiritual celebration rooted in darkness, death, and deception. As Christians, we are called to be set apart, living as light in a dark world.

Let us not entertain what God calls evil. Let us teach our children truth and stand firm in love and conviction.

The Satanic Roots of Rock and Roll: A Biblical Warning

The Satanic Roots of Rock and Roll: A Biblical Warning

The Satanic Roots of Rock and Roll: A Biblical Warning

🎸 The Dangerous Beat of Rebellion: Why Christians Should Not Listen to Rock Music

Music is one of the most powerful tools in the spiritual realm. It has the ability to stir emotions, influence behavior, and—when misused—open demonic doors. Rock music, in particular, has a long-standing history rooted in rebellion, sensuality, and even occult symbolism. For Christians, it’s not just about “preference”—it’s a matter of spiritual life or death.

🛑 Satan’s Role in Music

Scripture reveals that Satan was once a beautiful, musical being before his fall:

“The workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.”
Ezekiel 28:13

Music was literally built into Lucifer’s very being, which means he knows how to use it as a deceptive tool. When he was cast out of heaven, he didn't lose his musical influence—he twisted it. Today, he manipulates it to seduce, distract, and destroy.

The New Testament identifies Satan as:

  • “The prince of the power of the air” (Eph 2:2) — the ruler over the airwaves and communication

  • The tempter (1 Thess 3:5)

  • The deceiver of the whole world (Rev 12:9)

Could this "power of the air" include the music industry and its global reach? Absolutely.

🎶 What Does the Bible Say About Music?

Music in Scripture is holy, purposeful, and God-glorifying:

  • Praise & deliverancePaul and Silas sang and were delivered (Acts 16:25)

  • Teaching“Let the word of Christ dwell in you… singing psalms…” (Col 3:16)

  • Thanksgiving“Give thanks… with spiritual songs” (Eph 5:19)

  • Repentance & sorrow for sin – (Isaiah 16:10)

Biblical music always honors God, promotes holiness, and builds up the soul. Rock music, with its chaotic rhythms, sexual undertones, and rebellious lyrics, does the opposite.

🎧 The History of Rock: Born in Rebellion

Rock and roll emerged in the 1950s with a surge of rebellion, sexual freedom, and drug culture. As time progressed, lyrics became darker, and the occult influence more blatant. Artists like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Black Sabbath all openly expressed interest in the occult, Eastern mysticism, or drug-induced spiritual experiences.

Even secular musicians admit the spiritual dimension of their craft. Some claim to have received their music through spirit guides or altered states—clearly not the Holy Spirit.

👿 Demonic Manifestations from Listening to Rock

Christians who listen to rock music may experience:

  • Nightmares or sleep disturbances

  • Lust, rebellion, or suicidal thoughts

  • Spiritual numbness or disconnection from God

  • Demonic oppression or torment

  • Addiction to music, concerts, or worldly entertainment

  • Anger, violence, or identity confusion

Many believers unknowingly bring a spirit of rebellion, witchcraft, or perversion into their homes through music. If your ancestors were involved in occult music, secular entertainment industries, or rebellious music movements, this could also be a generational curse.

“Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft…”
1 Samuel 15:23

🙏 Break the Bondage Through Deliverance

Repentance is your doorway to freedom. Pray this aloud:

“Lord Jesus, I repent for listening to rock music and opening doors to demonic spirits. I renounce all rebellion, perversion, idolatry, and witchcraft in music. I break every soul tie with ungodly songs and artists. I cancel all generational curses related to music and entertainment. Cleanse me with Your blood. Fill me with Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Why We Are Not to Participate in Dungeons and Dragons! - move to wix

WHY NOT PARTICIPATE IN DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS OR OTHER FANTASY GAMES?

WHY NOT PARTICIPATE IN DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS OR OTHER FANTASY GAMES?

Dungeons and Dragons may seem to be harmless and very entertaining, but it is fun, but far from harmless. I have had friends who have experienced the game, and they now know its effects. It becomes a way to escape reality for most of those who play it. It is a way of letting tension and anxieties loose. And that is good. But subjecting the mind to the amount of violence involved isn't. It is far more alarming than good, especially to a young mind. And an 18 or 20-year-old still has a young mind. Its effects are both mental and physical. It is in comparison to drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. It is very possessive, addictive, and evil. Evil may sound wrong or peculiar to explain a game, but there is no other way to describe it. It is a device of Satan to lure us away from God. It is an occult.

Dungeons and Dragons and an Occult Practice

An occult, you say? What is an occult? Defined in the American Family and School Dictionary, a publication based on the American College Dictionary, prepared by Random House, Inc., it is beyond the bounds of ordinary knowledge, magical, supernatural, and mystical. Staying on the same subject, let's define occultism: the doctrine or study of the paranormal, magical, imaginary, etc. It is stated concisely that it is the participation or involvement in any way with fortune telling, magic practices, spiritism, or false religions, cults, and teachings.

Within that category is using an Ouija board, ESP, telepathy, horoscope, a seance, yoga, remote influence of the subconscious mind of others, self-hypnosis, following astrology, and Dungeons and Dragons. They are all connected with an occult or are considered an occult practice. All such occults are condemned by God in the Scriptures, being an abomination to Him, and are under His curse. To quote a passage from an article written by Dr. Hobart E. Freeman, I write the following:

Scriptures Condemn Occultism

"The Scriptures condemn all forms of occultism as sorcery and warn that.... they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God" (Gal. 5:19-21), but ".....are an abomination unto the Lord" (Deut. 18:12), and ".... shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone" (Rev. 21:8).
From earliest times, God forbade occultism as spiritually defiling (Lev. 19:31) and made participation in it punishable by death (Ex. 22:18; Lev. 20:27) and cause for rejection of that soul by God (Lev. 20:6).

Dungeons and Dragons are based on magic and the supernatural. There is, in fact, a hard-bound book entitled "Deities and DemiGods" to inform you of the "gods" involved in the game. It gives complete details of the "gods," and it expects you as a player character to pick a "god" to worship him/her. To pray to, to sacrifice to, to obey. And to die for if necessary.

Dungeons and Dragons is based on Supernatural and Magic.

Not only is the game based on the supernatural and magic, but it involves violence. Serious violence! This type of violence is not allowed on TV. There is hack-and-slash murder, rape, thievery, pillaging and terrorism. And in the game, it is natural and expected for a character to do those things. A character must, at least, murder and rob to survive. And it is the object of the game to survive. Do whatever you must, to anybody or anything, to survive and become more powerful and wealthy. The more you do those things, the longer you live. The longer you live, the more powerful you become, and usually, with power comes wealth.

You may be saying, "All of that may be true, but what does that have to do with me (or my children)? It has everything to do with you (or your children) if you (or they) are involved in the game. As I have repeated several times, the game is played or imagined entirely in the mind. Totally and only in the mind. The conscious mind experiences these visions as reality while playing. And if it is played, let's say, 3-5 times a week, 4-8 hours each time, the conscious mind becomes accustomed to such acts of violence.

Then, when the person is finished playing for that day, it is all pushed back to the subconscious supposedly. But it is known that the mind is mighty and unexplainable. It is very possible for the subconscious mind to "overpower" the conscious mind. Suddenly, you are no longer in total control of your mind. The "fantasy game" becomes a "reality game." You begin to live it for real. Everything you do or say involves or associates with the game itself. You no longer play the game for enjoyment; you play it because you must. You must have it (play it) just like a person on drugs, alcohol, or tobacco must have it. It is an addiction. And your mind is under the control of the game. It is possessed by the game.

Now, you're probably saying that won't happen to me (or my children) because I won't let it happen or I'm too bright for that to happen. Believe me, it happens! And it happens to anyone. Being a deliverance minister, I have done deliverance on people who have participated in D&G. It has occurred to my friends. It has happened to many college students who have committed suicide or have done some serious bodily harm to themselves and or others. It has happened to many younger teenagers, 13 and 14. The destruction it can cause to the mind and soul is incredible. It's somewhat unexplainable. I and many others have had some horrible experiences because of the game, and I am writing on their behalf to warn or make you aware of the game. It is dangerous and against God's command.

As I've said, there are numerous recorded accounts of teenagers 13 to 19 and some older persons who have had some troublesome experiences. Many have committed suicide due to the game. Many have caused severe harm to themselves or other individuals. Some have caused the death of a friend or family member by accident, but because of the "game," they took the "game" one step too far. "Playing" it for real one time too many. For some, it was the last time they played it or any other game. Many were lucky, but you may not be.

And the fact is that you don't even have to be playing the game at the time. The mind is continuously "playing" the game. You could have played it 2 or 3 days prior, but your mind is still playing.

So, please, for your own safety and salvation and the safety of others, don't play the game anymore. If you don't play it now, don't even start. It is more dangerous than I can fully explain. Don't play with your physical life that way, and don't condemn your soul to hell by participating in the game.

I know you said you are not a Christian. I’m surprised you are on this board asking such a question. You must have experienced something very negative, or maybe you have had Christians telling you it is wrong. I’m telling you what I know cause it can lead to problems. I hope this helps answer some of your questions. Cause the more you play, the more you become a SLAVE to it. It is very addictive.

I hope to hear your feelings about what I’ve written. The Lord loves you and died for you. He became a curse for the world so we could be His children and rescued from darkness. Brother/sister, you are in darkness. The end times are about to start, and there are two places people will go when it is all said and done. Either heaven or hell. Think about what I said. The Lord Jesus died for you so that you could have eternal life of peace and not eternal life of torment and hell. I thank you for becoming vulnerable to ask such a question.

At war manual is a spiritual warfare manual teaching others how to have victory over witchcraft and evilness

This is the experience of one family:

"Our firsthand experience with 'Pokemon', specifically the 'Red' and 'Blue' Gameboy Versions, involved William, our 8-year-old. A Christian friend gave William the video game for his birthday. Our review of the packaging and the very scanty instructions provided with the game did not raise any red flags, so William began to play the game. The game involves a very intricate journey, with fights between little creatures at each step, to capture all of the Pokemon. The game created an addiction and anxiety in the child, which made me uncomfortable, but as we had only just purchased the 'Game Boy' toy itself, I figured it was just the nature of video games in general.

Two months into playing the game (it takes about four months to finish), William came to me one morning asking what 'channeling' was. He emotionally spilled out that there were evil spirits and ghosts in his Pokemon game, that channelers were calling forth the spirit of a dead Pokemon's mother, that it was terrifying, and that he thought it was terrible. He should get rid of the game. All of Pokemon is evil, said one child.

What Does Pokemon Represent?

William also brought to my attention:

• Sabrina, a character who bends a spoon with her mind
• Leader Koga, who William says is a warlock
• A girl who roams around asking players if ghosts are real. If the player answers "No," the girl replies, "Oh, I guess that white glove you're wearing isn't real." If the player answers "Yes", the girl 'freaked out' according to William.
• The way to increase your 'power' in the game is to drain the life of another 'Clefairy' character who bows down to worship a moonstone.

I learned that William had been having a recurring bad dream. The morning he came to me, he said he had woken up from his dream, knowing that he had to tell me about what was in the game and that he had to get rid of the game. He never had the dream again. I later studied the official Pokemon Guide, a $12 magazine purchased at video stores. I found that in the "Pokemon Tower" portion of the game, the Pokemon creatures cannot 'fight' with the game's characters because they are possessed by evil spirits. In fact, the text "I can't right now, I'm possessed" actually appears on the Game Boy screen. We thank God that he made up for our sloppy parenting! We also thank Him for giving William a heart for what is right and the ability to discern when power is not coming from the One True God."

This article talks about the occult and many Pagan philosophies and practices - please do not read if this type of discussion scares you - and please pray about what you let your children play with and watch.

Truth About Pokemon

What is Pokemon? Sometimes, cute little creatures battle each other. My son and I were trading the cards and playing the game - I observed groups of children role-playing the Pokemon characters for a period of four months. I watched the anime (cartoons or Japanimation) and extensively researched the subtle influences on the Pokemon world before writing this paper. Out of much prompting, I finished this and I pray it helps many of you make an informed decision about whether or not Pokemon is a game that you want your children to play with.

All of the Pokemon is the result of entirely mystical influences. These are just to name a few:

Buddhist Mysticism, Hinduism meditation rituals, the Egyptian Book of the Dead, the Book of Tao, the Analects of Confucius, the Gita, the I Ching, and the Tibetian Book of the Dead: All these philosophies influenced Pokemon!

C.G. Jung summarizes all these philosophies in his theory of 'collective unconsciousness and assures his followers of the congeniality with occultic energy sciences and the evolutionary sciences with the occultic practices and tapping into the water energy, fire energy, leaf energy, and wind energy you can achieve spiritual enlightenment and success - all of which are incorporated in Pokemon. Jung draws upon Oriental conceptions of consciousness to broaden the concept of 'projection': Not only the 'wrathful' demons/monster (pocket monsters) but also the 'peaceful' deities/spirits (pikachu's) are conceived as animal projections of the human psyche - the fundamental religious teaching and gameplay in Pokemon!

Color energy cards:

In the Tibetan tradition, life is a 'game', and they state that each level of game existence is associated with a particular color and certain geographical symbols. Note the energy cards in Pokemon have colors and elements that also refer to powers and positions. In Tibetan teaching, each person (trainer of projections) has to learn to decode his own internal road map. The Tibetian indicators may be used as a starting point. The purpose is clear: one should follow the signs of the three higher types and shun those of the three lower. One should follow the light and pleasant visions and shun dark and dreary ones. Look at the Pokemon cards - both are represented and role-played by our children.

Recently, I observed a group of children who were role-playing Pokemon. They were making evil faces and chanting their Pokemon character names repeatedly! One three-year-old was chasing another boy, almost trance-like in expression, saying in a deep raspy voice, "Bulbasore attack, Bulbasore, Bulbasore".

Shinto teaches that all such natural features were felt to have a god behind their power. Many Shinto beliefs were incorporated into Japanese Buddhist practices after its introduction in the 6th century. Just as they believe in evolution and reincarnation, these ideas are manifest in all of the Pokemon. Some of the cards show creatures associated with Satan (dragons, ghosts, wizards, etc.) and are typical examples of the dark side of Pokemon. Haunter, an evolved spirit, can hypnotize and has 'dream eater' power (powered by the purple Pokemon energy cards, the psychic energy). This power lets him drain the energy from his opponents. Some Eastern and New Age philosophies teach this principle and call spirits that can do 'energy vampires'. This is just the tip of the iceberg! The Pokemon game contains many typologies manifest in the cards that reflect the philosophies of Shinto with mystic Buddhism and many other beliefs.

Pokemon Evolving

In Pokemon, the monsters die to their old self and evolve into the new, more powerful Pokemon. This is the teaching of Eastern mystery religions, spelled out in the Egyptian Book of the Deed and other occult religions.

All the Pokemon evolve and take on new characteristics, and one (Evee) can evolve into one of two completely different Pokemon. Children are subtly indoctrinated in the Pokemon game's theory of evolution and mysticism. What other influences are evident in Pokemon? It gets more unbelievable and shocking as you read on! Wicca, Witchcraft, Paganism, Satanism, 'New Age', and other occultic influences influence Pokemon. Wicca, or Witchcraft, is today's popular and fast-growing religious practice. Most witches/warlocks consider their practice something learned by experience, not books. They undergo many incredible rituals to become influential in the 'craft.' Pokemon trainers must undergo a lot of training and ritual-type actions to become 'Master Trainers,' with the ability to control the Pokemon and their powers.

In Pokemon, trainers summon one of their Pokemon to battle other monsters and use them as guardians. In Wicca, guardians known as Watchtowers are called. These spirits (and sometimes animals) are called by them to protect them from 'evil' spirits while they open themselves up to them during rituals - the circle, the pentagram, etc.- all provide a 'safe' area to practice. (In Pokemon, the monsters are held in a Pokeball until the master summons them).

In witchcraft, these spirits are summoned and called to stay in the circle until needed to fight off evil spirits. These guardians in Pagan practice are often the spirits with whom a person feels comfortable and has developed some form of a relationship (in Pokemon, the trainers befriend their 'pocket monsters' and develop trusting and advice-seeking relationships with them). Possible guardians might be one of the Ancestors, a "spirit guide!' or other spiritual entity (including animal spirits and even real animals - like typical witches' black cat) with which the person is familiar.

This occurs in Pokemon play - the pocket monsters are captured, trained, and summoned as needed.

Most Pagan and earth-based religions and philosophies find power in the Four Elements - Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind. These are the energy cards in the Pokemon game!

What are we allowing to come into our homes? The elements in Pokemon are foundational to many earth religions and mystic rituals. We draw our power from God, not the earth!

One last example of occultic practices and Pokemon.
In Paganism and the Occult, there are spirit guides, messengers, and elementals or artificial elementals. They can be summoned to do things for the 'trainer' or practitioner'.

They can:
1. Watch and tell the trainer what he sees
2. Guard the trainer
3. Fight with other spirits or elementals
4. Carry out assignments given by the trainers.

Pagans can capture free elementals (like Pokemon trainers capture pocket monsters) and build relationships with them for use like Pokemon trainers). Witches, shamans, etc., recommend only master practitioners do this because you are not masters of the elementals, just like Pokemon trainers are not masters of the pocket monster - and they warn that they can be hard to get rid of and may require an exorcism to become free of a bad one.

Anti Anti Pokemon

Please pray and do what the Lord instructs you to do - it is time to take a stand for God and protect our children from the influences of the enemy! My son is six and we had a whole book of Pokemon cards - after praying about it he made the decision to get rid of his cards because he could see they were evil!

I am not about to 'abolish the wickedness of Pokemon' - God had me write this paper to alert individuals to the occultic influences and the potential for instilling false beliefs.

My son and I both enjoyed collecting the cards. I made an excellent binder, and it was fun trading the Pokemon. Every time he asked me about the occultic powers, I shrugged and said, "As long as you know that it is from the enemy, God's power is better and different."

Then they began saying something close to the terminology used in occultic rituals - and they somehow got it from Pokemon. So, I only researched the game and compared it to various religions. There are, as you read, some apparent connections.

In gameplay, you can open yourself up to an authentic power that has one goal - your emotional instability, self-seeking powers, the occult, and eventual death.

Yes, Pokemon is cute fun, and the anime cartoon is refreshingly simple - but it is also subtly occultic and can influence young people to follow the wrong path. Anything that has this potential should not be part of a Christian home.
