Deaf and Dumb Meaning

‭‭Mark‬ ‭9‬:‭17‬-‭25‬ ‭

”And one of the throng replied to Him, Teacher, I brought my son to You, for he has a dumb spirit. And wherever it lays hold of him [so as to make him its own], it dashes him down and convulses him, and he foams [at the mouth] and grinds his teeth, and he [falls into a motionless stupor and] is wasting away. And I asked Your disciples to drive it out, and they were not able [to do it]. And He answered them, O unbelieving generation [without any faith]! How long shall I [have to do] with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to Me. So they brought [the boy] to Him, and when the spirit saw Him, at once it completely convulsed the boy, and he fell to the ground and kept rolling about, foaming [at the mouth]. And [Jesus] asked his father, How long has he had this? And he answered, From the time he was a little boy. 

And it has often thrown him both into fire and into water, intending to kill him. But if You can do anything, do have pity on us and help us. And Jesus said, [You say to Me], If You can do anything? [Why,] all things can be (are possible) to him who believes! At once the father of the boy gave [an eager, piercing, inarticulate] cry with tears, and he said, Lord, I believe! [Constantly] help my weakness of faith! But when Jesus noticed that a crowd [of people] came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, You dumb and deaf spirit, I charge you to come out of him and never go into him again.“

What is the deaf and dumb spirit? It is a blockage of the spiritual ear of the believer. It is a spirit against the church attempting to justify and perpetuate a religious spirit. It cuts off faith so a religious spirit can begin to reign in this environment without faith. The deaf and dumb spirit cuts off the believer's hearing of the Word of God and stops their faith from growing. (Romans 10:17) This spirit desires to keep you where you are at and away from the revelation found in God's Word. It also seeks bondage rather than the freedom that is yours through Christ as a believer.

Six Characteristics of the Deaf and Dumb Spirit

From my experience and research, I have found there to be at least five distinct characteristics of this Deaf and Dumb demonic spirit.

1. Epilepsy - convulsions
2. Problems with Detachment – Matthew 17:15
   “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic and is very ill; for the often falls in to the fire and often into the water.”
3. Falls to Sleep – Luke 22:45
   “When He rose from prayer, He came to the disciples and found them sleeping from sorrow.”
4. Dull of Hearing – Hebrews 5:11-13
   “Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.”
5. Walks in a Stupor – Romans 11:8
   “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes to see not and ears to hear not, down to the very day.”
6. Consistent Struggle with Doubt and Unbelief – John 8:43, 47
   “Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word…He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.”

More Characteristics is: Accidents continuously- accident prone, accidents by burning, accidents by drowning, blindness, ear problems, emotionlessness, eye diseases, fear of fire, fear of water, grinding of teeth, infections (chronic), inner ear problems, insanity, madness, suicide thoughts, and attempts,

Epilepsy Symptoms

• uncontrollable jerking and shaking called a "fit"
• losing awareness and staring blankly into space.
• becoming stiff.
• strange sensations, such as a "rising" feeling in the tummy, unusual smells or tastes, and a tingling feeling in your arms or legs.
• collapsing.

Five Characteristics of the Deaf and Dumb Spirit in the Spiritual Realm

The Causes of Epilepsy in Adults and Children

Can you imagine a child living that way? The devil tries to kill him, and the attempts are genuine. The pain and the grief they feel. 

Why does a person get a deaf and dumb spirit? The open door is an occult spirit in the generations that lands on a child. 

It takes a seasoned deliverance minister to break the generational occult spirits (the sins and the inequities in the generations) that must be repented, renounced, and cast out of a person. Even though it is a person doing the deliverance, the credit is from God through Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

A child nashing at the teeth, falling on the ground, having fits, and hurting themselves is a deaf and dumb spirit is Epilepsy. It is not normal, but occultism can cause fits and Epileptic seizures.

A Closing Prayer of Exercising Authority

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I declare that Jesus has already defeated satan by His death, burial and resurrection and has stripped the devil of his powers.  Jesus gave His authority over all the powers of darkness to His disciples. I am a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, by the power of the name of Jesus and by His shed blood for me, I command that the entrenchment of the deaf and dumb spirit be dislodged. I command it to lift off of me and my household and leave now by the authority of the Word of God. I declare you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. I am free in Christ Jesus! Amen and Amen!
