What Does “Double-Minded” Mean in the Bible?

In James 1:8, the term "double-minded" is translated from the Greek word dipsuchos, meaning “two-souled.” It refers to a person torn between loyalty to God and loyalty to the world, between faith and fear, trust and control. This divided state leads to confusion, indecisiveness, and spiritual paralysis.

According to Strong's Concordance, “unbelief” implies wavering, halting between two opinions, or withdrawing from God. It is not just uncertainty—it is spiritual warfare. The root of this instability often includes a spirit of rejection, fear of man, fear of failure, and doubt.

The Fruits of a Double-Minded Spirit

Double-mindedness creates:

• Inconsistent prayer

• Weak or paralyzed faith

• Confusion about God’s will

• Performance-based identity

• People-pleasing tendencies

You may be reading your Bible, praying, and attending church, yet feel spiritually dry or disconnected. If you believe in God but don’t believe He’ll answer your prayers, you may be double-minded.

Questions to Discern Double-Mindedness

Before going to God in prayer, we must examine the posture of our heart. Ask yourself:

1. Am I praying according to God’s will?

“If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” — 1 John 5:14

2. Is my life aligned with God's Word?

“Whatever we ask we receive...because we keep His commandments.” — 1 John 3:22

3. Are my motives pure?

“You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss.” — James 4:3

We must recognize that true faith requires action. James warns that believing without works is dead (James 2:20). Even demons believe—but they tremble in fear rather than obey in love (James 2:19).

Old Testament Example: Israel’s Double Mind

When the Israelites saw God’s presence on Mount Sinai, they were overwhelmed with holy fear (Exodus 20:18-19). But later, when Moses delayed returning, they gave in to fear and built a golden calf (Exodus 32). One moment, they revered God. The next, they doubted Him.

This is the perfect example of double-mindedness: when visible signs fade, doubt takes over.

You’re not just dealing with a bad habit or weak personality trait. Double-mindedness often originates from demonic strongholds tied to the following:

1. Spirit of Rejection

Past hurts, abandonment, or criticism can cause deep insecurity, making us seek human approval instead of God’s truth.

2. Fear of Man

This fear makes us prioritize what others think over what God says. It causes compromise and silence when we should speak truth.

3. Fear of Failure

We shrink back from God-given assignments because we fear we won’t succeed—or worse, that we’ll be exposed as not good enough.

4. Generational Doubt and Unbelief

Sometimes, this spirit is passed through bloodlines, especially if your ancestors practiced humanism, intellectualism, or denied the supernatural.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I repent of double-mindedness in my life and in my generational line. I renounce every spirit of doubt, unbelief, fear of man, fear of failure, pride, and rejection. I repent for trusting in my own logic, intellectualism, humanism, and reasoning over Your truth.

I repent for caring more about the approval of man than the approval of God. I lay down my self-effort, control, and perfectionism at the foot of the Cross. Lord, I receive Your mercy and grace. I choose to be transformed by the renewing of my mind.

Wash my hands, purify my heart, and make me single-minded in devotion to You. I resist the devil and submit to You as my Lord. I declare I have the mind of Christ. I will walk in faith, in truth, and in obedience. I break every generational curse of double-mindedness off my bloodline.

Introduction: A Misunderstood Source of Sickness

Many Christians today are confused or misled about the origin of sickness and disease. Some believe God uses illness to teach lessons or test faith. Others suggest that suffering from disease may be a sign of divine punishment. But what does the Bible actually say? Is God the author of disease? Or is there another spiritual source?

Let’s examine the Word of God and uncover biblical truth, exposing the roots of illness—whether it comes through sin, demonic influence, or generational curses—and how Jesus Christ provides complete healing and deliverance.

Psalm 103: God Heals, Not Harms

Psalm 103:2-4 (KJV):

"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies."

This passage is clear: God forgives our sins and heals our diseases. If God were the one sending the disease, He would be contradicting His own Word. Verse 3 reveals that one of the benefits of walking with God is that He is our healer. Nowhere does it say God gives disease—rather, He heals and redeems us from destruction.

If God gave sickness and then healed it, His house would be divided. That would directly oppose the logic of Jesus in Mark 3:24-26:

"If a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand."

The Origin of Disease: Satan, Sin, and Demons

The Bible is clear about who brings destruction:

John 10:10 (KJV): "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

Jesus came to bring life, not disease. The thief—Satan—is the one who brings destruction, and this includes physical affliction.

Matthew 4:24 speaks of Jesus healing all manner of sickness and demon possession. Jesus cast out demons and healed diseases together, showing the strong link between demonic forces and infirmities.

Matthew 10:1-8 shows Jesus empowering His disciples to heal the sick, cast out devils, and cleanse lepers. Why? Because sickness is not of God.

Luke 13:11-16 further confirms this. Jesus healed a woman who had been bent over for 18 years. He said she had a "spirit of infirmity" and clarified in verse 16:

“And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?”

Satan had bound her—not God. Her disease was directly caused by demonic bondage.

Isaiah 61: Jesus Was Sent to Heal and Deliver

Isaiah 61:1 (KJV):

"The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound."

Luke 4:18 echoes this same mission. Jesus came to:

1. Preach to the poor.

2. Heal the brokenhearted.

3. Proclaim deliverance to captives.

4. Recover sight to the blind.

5. Set at liberty those that are bruised.

These are not the works of someone who uses disease to punish. Jesus brought freedom—spiritual, emotional, and physical.

How Sin Opens the Door to Sickness

While all sickness is not caused by personal sin, sin is a legal open door for the enemy to afflict us.

Deuteronomy 28 outlines the blessings of obedience and the curses of disobedience. Disease is listed as one of the curses that come from turning away from God.

Deuteronomy 28:22 (KJV):

"The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation..."

But understand this: these were covenant consequences. In the New Covenant, Jesus became the curse for us (Galatians 3:13). He took the punishment upon Himself so we could walk in freedom.

That doesn’t mean sickness no longer exists. It means that the legal right for sickness has been broken through the cross. But many still suffer because they don’t know the truth, or because sin, trauma, or generational curses have allowed demonic spirits of infirmity to attack their bodies.

Generational Curses and Ancestral Iniquities

Exodus 20:5 (KJV): "...visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me."

If your ancestors practiced witchcraft, idolatry, Freemasonry, or sexual sin, those sins can result in curses that manifest as disease, mental illness, or torment.

Deliverance ministry frequently reveals patterns of inherited sicknesses that go back generations. These must be repented of, renounced, and broken in Jesus’ name.

Demonic Manifestation Through Illness

In many deliverance sessions, we see evil spirits manifest physically as pain, disease, or mental torment. A spirit of infirmity might produce chronic fatigue, arthritis, or even cancer. Others include spirits of cancer, lupus, barrenness, migraines, and more.

The good news? Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 3:8 (KJV):

"For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil."

Through repentance, renunciation, and command in Jesus’ name, these spirits can be cast out, and healing can follow.

Why We Must Reject the Lie That God Sends Sickness

To believe God sends sickness is to partner with a lie from the enemy. It robs believers of faith and opens the door to bondage.

God never contradicts Himself. He does not break His promises. If He says He forgives and heals (Psalm 103), that is what He does.

Walking in Healing and Freedom

So how can you or your loved ones experience healing?

1. Repent of sin (1 John 1:9).

2. Renounce any involvement in the occult, false religion, or ancestral sin.

3. Break generational curses in Jesus’ name (Gal. 3:13).

4. Cast out spirits of infirmity (Mark 16:17).

5. Stand on healing scriptures like Isaiah 53:5 and Psalm 103:3.

6. Use anointed oil and the laying on of hands (James 5:14).

7. Seek deliverance ministry if needed (Luke 10:19).

Healing is part of your covenant inheritance in Christ. Don’t settle for lies that keep you bound. Jesus paid the price for your full deliverance—body, soul, and spirit.

Conclusion: Jesus Is the Healer

Jesus never gave anyone a disease. He never told a person, “This is from My Father.” Instead, He healed all who came to Him in faith. As Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."

If He healed then, He heals now.

Reject the lie that God sends sickness. Break every agreement with disease, sin, or ancestral bondage. Walk in faith, healing, and victory through Jesus Christ.

These tormenting spirits don’t just show up randomly. There are spiritual doors that give them legal access to a person’s life. Here are the most common open doors:

1. Masturbation

Whether you're a child or adult, consistent masturbation—especially when rooted in trauma or perversion—opens the door to unclean spirits. Often, there is sexual sin or abuse in the family line.

2. Sexual Abuse

Victims of sexual abuse, especially in childhood, may become spiritually marked, creating a stronghold for these spirits. Even if the person was innocent, unclean spirits may still enter due to violation.

3. Pornography and Sexual Media

Watching sexual content, whether in movies, magazines, or online, invites these spirits into your soul. They feed off what you consume.

4. Generational Curses

You may be suffering due to the sins of ancestors who opened doors through lust, rape, incest, fornication, or witchcraft. These generational iniquities give demonic spirits the legal right to operate unless they are renounced.

5. Spiritual Disorder in the Home

If your home is out of God’s divine order—chaos, rebellion, or sin—it can create an entryway for tormenting spirits.

🛡️ How to Get Free from Incubus and Succubus Spirits

Deliverance is possible! Here's how to break free:

✅ 1. Repent and Renounce

• Repent for any sexual sin in your life.

• Renounce all unclean spirits—lust, masturbation, perversion.

• Renounce the sins of your ancestors (back 4 generations on both sides).

• Break soul ties with any past sexual partners, even in dreams.

✅ 2. Cast Out the Spirits

Command the spirits of Incubus, Succubus, lust, shame, and torment to leave in Jesus’ name. Use spiritual authority. Speak boldly and take control.

✅ 5. Use the Word of God and Declare It

Stand on Proverbs 26:2 – "A curse causeless shall not come." This means if the doors are closed, the demons have no right to stay.

Incest and Rape – What Kind of Spirits Attach Itself to You Through Traumatic Molestation?

Understanding the Spiritual Impact of Sexual Abuse

Sexual abuse, whether through incest, rape, or molestation, is one of the most traumatic experiences a person can endure. It not only wounds the soul but also opens dangerous spiritual doors that can torment the victim long after the event has passed. These doors can lead to bitterness, fear, shame, guilt, rejection, unclean spirits, and a wounded spirit that affects every area of life—relationships, mental health, and even physical well-being.

Victims often find themselves tormented mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Unless these open doors are closed through deliverance and inner healing, the enemy will continue to use those traumatic memories to harass, oppress, and torment.

What Comes In Through Sexual Abuse

When a person is sexually violated, especially in cases of incest or rape, the following demonic strongholds are often transferred or activated:

• Fear and trauma

• Bitterness toward self and perpetrator

• Self-hatred, shame, and guilt

• Unloving spirits (spirit of self-pity, rejection)

• Unclean spirits associated with sexual sin

• Occult influences in cases tied to witchcraft, ritual abuse, or generational perversion

These spiritual consequences are not random—they’re legal ground for the enemy unless closed through the cross of Jesus Christ. Matthew 18:34 tells us that unforgiveness keeps a person imprisoned in torment. If a victim holds bitterness and rage, they remain vulnerable to harassment by tormenting spirits.

Shame and Guilt: The Lying Spirits of False Responsibility

One of the greatest lies victims believe is that they were somehow responsible for the abuse. This false responsibility breeds self-accusation, self-bitterness, and shame. Even though the victim was forced into an unclean sexual act, the enemy uses the memory to continue accusing them long after the act is over.

But God knows the truth—you were a victim, not a participant by choice. However, to legally close the door on Satan’s accusations, you must repent for the act itself, not because you were responsible, but to revoke the enemy’s access. This is not about guilt—it’s about spiritual legality.

Once this repentance is made, any attempt by the devil to stir up shame, guilt, or self-hatred can be met with: “It’s under the Blood. I’ve already repented. I am forgiven and free.”

Dealing with Generational Sexual Sin and Incest

Sexual abuse in families often has generational roots. The Bible speaks about generational curses passed down through bloodlines due to the sins of the forefathers (Exodus 20:5). The abuser may have been a victim themselves or may be operating under unbroken curses of perversion.

If the perpetrator is a family member, it is essential to deal with the family’s sexual sin, not just the act of abuse itself. The victim should:

1. Forgive the perpetrator, releasing them into God's hands.

2. Repent on behalf of the family bloodline, asking God to break generational sexual sin and perversion.

3. Renounce all ties to the abuse and unclean spirits attached to it.

4. Break soul ties and spiritual bonds with the perpetrator.

Inner Healing for the Wounded Spirit

Rape and incest cause a deep wound in the soul and spirit. Many victims cannot receive God’s love or feel clean again because of the inner torment. But Father God wants to heal your heart. According to Luke 4:18, Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free.

The enemy wants to keep you in shame and guilt—but Jesus wants you whole.

You may need to go through a process of:

• Forgiveness (Matthew 6:14-15)

• Deliverance from spirits of fear, shame, and self-hatred

• Breaking word curses and inner vows such as “I’ll never trust again” or “I hate myself”

• Receiving God’s truth and love to replace the lies

Breaking the Power of Flashbacks and Programming

One common torment for abuse victims is recurring flashbacks, nightmares, or mental “replays” of the event. These are spiritual mimes or programmed memories—demonic assignments that keep the person reliving the trauma.

To break these:

1. Take authority over the programming in Jesus’ name.

2. Renounce and break the power of mental torment and visual replay.

3. Speak healing and cleansing over your mind, imagination, and memories.

4. Ask the Holy Spirit to erase the sting of those memories.

Use scriptures like 2 Corinthians 10:5 to cast down imaginations and bring every thought captive to Christ.

• Matthew 18:6-7 (NIV) – “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble...”

• Luke 4:18 – “He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted…”

• 2 Corinthians 10:5 – “Casting down imaginations…”

• Isaiah 61:1-3 – “Beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning…”

How to Deal with a Controlling Person Biblically

The Jezebel spirit is born of witchcraft and rebellion. They have controlling spirit characteristics in them. It is an occultist spirit operating in someone's life since they need to know and need to be in control of themselves and others instead of trusting God. They manipulate through guilt. 

Some Jezebels I've met will flatter you. Many of these Jezebels proclaim prophetic gifts and will use flattery with words that sound like prophetic words. Learn to discern the difference. God's word says to run from those who use flattery to trick you.

When someone gets involved in occultism, such as divination, the need is to be in the know and want to control their destiny. This Jezebel spirit is pervasive in operation today and is a powerful enemy of the body of Christ. It brings destruction and death to people as well as division. Not a physical death, but also death to vision, death to purpose, death to God's calling, etc.

Jezebel is a person who has to be on top, and when someone has gifts, it becomes jealous and will do anything to shut you down. If it can, this person, operating in Jezebel, will even control who can be in your life and the friends you are allowed to have but most likely none. They want you to meet their need and are not in your life to meet your needs. It might seem that way at first, but they are genuinely selfish and very jealous people who are looking for an identity of power.

Any behavior of control is not of Christ's Character - negative and destructive to self or others, then there is an Antichrist spirit operating in a person's life. They want 

Jezebel masquerades as a "protector" spirit to gain access, using the inroads already made by spirits of rejection and fear. When a person is rejected with fear, they will try to control their lives and control others to be in control. The person with matriarchal witchcraft has a fear of being out of control. Fear drives this spirit into manipulation and control of others or self! They usually have high goals that are unreachable, and they are hard on themselves or others if the goals are not reached.

If you work for a Jezebel-type person, they are impossible to please. Everything you do, even in excellence, will not satisfy them. It is never enough or good enough in their eyes.

Religious Spirit Characteristics

A person with a Jezebel Spirit has religious spirit characteristics in them. They come across as very religious but with no grace. They will whip you with the Word instead of giving you life with the Word. What I call, bring death through the Word. God's word is alive and should edify. Not destroy a person with it. A person with Jezebel spirit characteristics. I've met some who believe they can curse and pray for witchcraft prayers if they are hurt by them. They may seem religious, but some can operate in divination instead of the true gift of prophecy because they are power-hungry for that anointing. They want that power for themselves instead of giving glory to the Lord. Why is that? They lack an identity and love in their hearts. They are broken people.

Confronting Jezebel Discerning and Defeating the Spirit of Control From Your Life

Why do you think people fall into occult practices or modalities? They need to control their destination. They need to be in the know, which is the same reason Eve feels that Satan provided her something to give her more knowledge. The story of Adam and Eve is the first example of matriarchal witchcraft in the Bible. Adam listened to his wife and did what she wanted instead of obeying God. It is not a godly order. And God gave out punishment for their behavior. Because of Christ, we can now break the curse off. Thank you, Lord, for grace and mercy.

As I said earlier, there is a broken spirit deeply rooted in rejection operating in them. People, who are Jezebel's, have this spirit, but they are not this person. They are fortified and trapped in their own rejection of pain. They have too much pride to admit they need help. 

Because of that deep-rooted rejection in their lives, many times, a person (man or female) will try to gain identity, glory, recognition, power, and satisfy the need for acknowledgment of worth from others (in other words, the "praises of men" Matt. 6:2,5,16). Our identity comes from the Lord but they look to people to meet their needs by controlling to get their importance to create an identity.

This is an outgrowth of the desire for love and self-worth we all have - with the wrong focus - self. So, there is an unloving spirit operating as well. An Unloving spirit is an Antichrist spirit to put yourself on the throne.

Second, the Jezebel spirit seeks to emasculate all men or divest them of their authority and power over others. It fosters a distrust and/or hatred of men in general. It nurtures motives of vengeance on the victim toward some men in particular - usually as a result of abuse or neglect by a significant male in the victim's life. Most of the time, because of their strong personality, will become Ahab to have peace with them.

Jezebel has a hard time trusting any person or anyone (even God), and so they feel they have to control others and their destiny. They are threatened when someone shows independence from them. Fear rises up, and the spirit of the Antichrist tells them they are losing control. When that happens, the abuse comes into play.

If you are around them long enough, it is all about them. They are very self-centered. If they feel you are pulling away, they will sugarcoat words to pull you back. Then, wham, you are hit between the eyes. 

Household Out of Order

They represent the ungodly order that Satan has set up in mankind. We have also learned that this is occultism because it obscures the real thing the Godhead established and declared to be in the creation of all things, including governmental and familial. Ahab represents the passive male rebelling or refusing to take his place as the king or ruler and abdicating it to his wife. Within this occultist framework is a lot of manipulation. Just a lot of rotten fruit.

The Jezebel Spirits that manifest?

Leviathan: Demonic Ruling Prince promoting Luciferian Rulership through Arrogance, Pride, and Ungodly Authority.......

Behemoth: Religious Principality that takes truth and changes it....the Principality behind all Legalism, False Religions, and Deception of Truth. Also, these Principalities work with lesser evil spirits to cause even Christians to be the "knowing ones".....found deeply rooted in the misuse of the prophetic movement and can be seen in rigid legalistic movements...typically...a spirit of religion...and error ...also can be found operating in people who try to control others in the name of truth, as opposed to proper ecclesiastical leadership.

Scriptures about Godly Order

1 Cor 11:3 "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." (KJV)

The head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God. Three headships in 1 Cor. 11:3:

1. God is the head of Christ.

2. Christ is the head of man.

3. Man is head of woman -- husband is the head of the wife.

The head of Christ is God. God and Christ are separate and distinct persons (1 Tim. 2:5).

1 Tim 2:5 "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (KJV)

Three main personality types of the Jezebel Spirit:

Looking at the controlling spirit characteristics of Jezebel spirit is the high-profile type is generally gregarious, outspoken, and highly visible. She or he is often seen as the one who wears the pants in the family.

The low-profile type is just that--generally soft-spoken, giving the illusion of being solicitous, protective, even very submissive. The low-profile type may be the most dangerous, as is the most difficult to discern. Jezebel relies heavily on manipulation for her power, but it is extremely subtle.

This can be a husband that believes he has control through violence, screaming to get others to submit to their authority. They use intimidation and intimidation to get their way or to control others. As you can see this spirit is very self-centered because it is all about him. There is usually self-hatred operating. If they hate themselves, how can they love their wives?

Within these three types are two manifestations: the SEDUCER and the FRIGID. The SEDUCER uses any type of seduction available to gain control and power as a method of manipulation. There is a tri-angling of alignment with one person to control another person and/or build your own power through a spirit of seduction to seduce others to get their way – to gain control, to climb up the ladder for their importance, and to gain an identity.

The FRIGID Jezebel personality can frequently be seen as the efficient (and often plain) executive assistant at the side of a powerful businessman or church leader. This Jezebel often lacks a gregarious personality but may be outspoken and aggressive.

Manifestations of Jezebel:

Usually, a person with a Jezebel spirit has several spirits operating in them - read the characteristics and how they work:

Insecurity (Unloving and Rejection Principalities)– They are very insecure, but their demeanor will show they are confident and powerful.

Fear (there are about 4000 different types of fears) – A Jezebel has a fear of losing control, fear of being controlled by others but also has a fear of man, fear of failure, fear of rejection (even though the enemy sets them up to be rejected over and over again). They are fearful of being out of control. This might have come from abuse when they were young when they suffered abuse and felt out of control and made a judgment that they would never be out of control. Fear is a very big issue with manipulative and controlling people. Out of fear can come many different manifestations of control. Fear is the opposite of faith and both demand to be fulfilled.

Self Idolatry (out of occultism) - Jezebel worships herself (keeps the focus on herself, except where a false attitude of compassion or humility serves her purposes). She has herself on the throne. Like I said earlier there is an Unloving Antichrist Spirit operating that causes her to self focus on herself. This spirit cares nothing about you but will use you for their importance. They truly do not love themselves and are very driven people. Jezebel demands worship from others ("queen-bee" syndrome). She must have dominance and control in her home. Other family members must exist to please her.

A spirit of Jealousy that comes out of the principality of Envy/Jealousy. They are jealous of anyone who receives recognition. They are on the throne and desire all recognition to go to them. She will stand in the way of anyone else receiving attention or recognition, if possible. This is one of the biggest dangers to the Body of Christ, according to James 3:16, because it opens the door to "every evil thing" to enter in - not just to the Jezebel, but to the entire congregation.

Division – A Jezebel will bring division and destruction when things do not go their way. If someone does not follow her plan, she becomes hazardous. They will gossip lies and deceit to others to bring destruction and can bring division within the camp, which destroys an entity such as a church.

Unrealistic expectations of others (perfection, performance, and drivenness) - Her expectations from others are always unrealistic because others cannot meet her demand for complete submission. If they do try, she despises them and casts them aside when she has what she wants out of them. Anyone attempting to relate to someone with this spirit is in a no-win situation. Nothing pleases this spirit. She is not spirit-led but is driven by fear of perfection and expects everyone else to be perfect.

Perfection, Performance, and Drivenness are more on this subject. Perfectionism is a common characteristic of Jezebel - generating self-hatred in the victim and despising others around her who fail to meet her exaggerated standards. This is part of her "unrealistic expectations" toward herself and others and an excuse for disrespect toward others, especially those in authority - they don't "measure up," so she doesn't have to show respect.

Control and manipulation – This is the most vital nature of a Jezebel spirit. Nearly everything Jezebel does utilizes one or both spirits to attain her goal. Focuses on weaknesses of others - She uses faults or weaknesses she perceives in the person she is attempting to control to create feelings of shame or guilt and, therefore, submission to her will. If you are an influential person, most likely, she will not like you and come against you and/or set you up for destruction in front of others. A Jezebel with butt heads with other strong personalities to weaken you down.

A spirit of Self-pity (bitterness or unloving spirit) – She or he will use self-pity (her own weaknesses) to manipulate another into submitting to her out of pity to manipulate your emotions to get you to feel bad about yourself - it is a tactic. How?

a. Jezebels frequently ENJOY poor health, especially the "low-profile" type. For them, it is a tool for attention, sympathy, and other forms of manipulation. It usually has one of two purposes - to manipulate others into serving them, to feel loved and attention from others because they genuinely do not love themselves because of the rejection they have received as a young person, or to avoid doing something they do not wish to do.

b. she will tell you stories of victimization to get you to have compassion on her to do what she wants you to do. For example, she will tell you how much pressure she is under and that she works an ungodly number of hours to complete a project. She will contact you to become compassionate and ask you to give up your evening to meet her needs or tasks. She gets all the credit for the project but got you to help her meet her task.

Although this manifestation is not limited to the Jezebel personality, it is often a strong trait displayed. As each complaint is discovered by those around her not to be as severe as she claims, she must develop other infirmities, more serious and/or more bizarre than the previous ones, to maintain her control or attention.

These afflictions are not limited to the Jezebel spirit's victim; they may be manifestations of the self-pitying rejection attempting to garner attention and other spiritual influences utilizing this form of manipulation, or they may be unrelated to a demonic stronghold altogether.

False Burden Bearing - Being someone else's Holy Spirit. Here's a little amplification of false burden bearing as it relates to control. Again, fear is what is behind most control. Protection control." This comes out of fear of the consequences of someone else's behavior, choices, or lack of action. You may fear for what will happen to the other person but usually, you also fear for yourself and what will happen to you as a result of the other's choices. This is the feeling that you know what's best for another and exert efforts to make it happen. So out of this comes many aspects of control and it links up with fear, false burden-bearing, false compassion, enabling, co-dependency, and sometimes pride. There is a good chance that God would like each one of us to experience the consequences of our choices. If we are protecting people from the consequences of their choices, we block God's activity in their life and make ourselves a God in their life

A spirit of Murmuring and Complaining, and criticism - which are "servant spirits" in her stronghold. She uses criticism of perceived faults in others to build up her self-esteem and justify her disobedience of, or lack of respect for, others. Men can do this that do not love their wives like the church. As said earlier, Jezebel tends to be driven by perfectionism. She will find fault in others' grounds for disobeying their authority. She uses criticism to manipulate those around her and murmuring and complaint causes divisiveness to weaken her opposition and thereby gain control over or destroy them.

A spirit of Lust – She has a spirit of lust for control and power (home, work, or church). It can manifest as sexual lust to manipulate the boss, the minister, or anyone in leadership to get their way. It can be used to hold back on the husband to control him or get him to do what she needs, like repairs around the house, etc. She uses a withdrawal from sex from her husband to get what she wants from him.

They have bitterness and/or self-bitterness – if they do not get their way, they will display angry, vicious, and sometimes violent behavior when opposed. Bitterness and resentment against past hurts and offenses are nurtured in the victim by the Jezebel spirit because she knows the root of bitterness will grow like cancer and manifest itself in all sorts of physical ailments, which she can use as tools of manipulation. Symptoms of Bitterness and self-bitterness:

a. Un-forgiveness: having a hard heart; not obeying the word; being rebellious; keeping a record of wrongs. Hebrews 12.15 Looking diligently lest any man fails of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; they also have unforgiveness towards self. They hold a record of failures against themselves. The enemy continually accuses them of their failures and manipulates them to strive more toward the impossible perfection to succeed.

b. Resentment: a record of wrongs fueled by feelings of holding on to it; starting to meditate; a foundation for spirits of fear

i. Fear of man

ii. Fear of rejection

iii. Fear of failure

iv. Fear of abandonment

A Jezebel is eaten up by self-resentment - they resent their past, failures, and who they are.

c. Retaliation: We want to make the person pay; find ways to get even; Romans 12:17-21 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. V 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. v19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. v20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. v21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

A Jezebel will have self-retaliation. They will punish themselves if a task or goal is unmet and drive themselves or others to complete it.

d. Anger: unforgiveness, resentment, and retaliation have been building, and then along comes a strong feeling of anger. This can be generational.

A Jezebel will have self-anger toward self. They have exploding episodes over themselves when things do not go right and will curse themselves.

e. Hatred: There’s not enough room on this planet for you and me to be in the same place at the same time. Can this happen in our churches?

A Jezebel will have a deep-seated hatred for self. They push themselves to no end because they do not have a true identity in Christ and think that works will give them an identity in the things they do but can never meet up to their own expectations so they have a hatred of self and believe they are failures but you will never know it and you will hear them brag on their accomplishments hoping you will reciprocate back.

f. Violence: Before I eliminate you, you’re going to feel my pain; you’re going to know my hatred; you are going to experience it. Can you begin to see the personality of bitterness?

A Jezebel will have self-violence toward self. They have a punishment-type mentality by not sleeping or taking care of themselves to get the task or get others to meet their need because of the self-hatred operating. They will have violence through anger toward others or themselves.

g. Murder: The unlawful killing of one human being by another, especially with premeditation. What about murder with the tongue or gossip?

Spirit of Rebellion (coming out of occultism)– Jezebel hates authority over her since there is a fear of authority put over her (especially since men are frequently the authority figures who initially hurt them or women who originally hurt the man). Anyone who displays authority over her will seek to destroy them and take their power. An early manifestation in childhood is a lack of respect for self or others and no respect for possessions, either theirs or others.

They Have To Be Right in all Conversations (they mimic narcissism) - The enemy makes them believe if they are wrong, it is a failure on their part. They have very little room for themselves to make mistakes or for others to make mistakes. They think they are right and will get angry if you feel otherwise. They expect you to believe they are right. If you try to show them they are wrong, they twist the situation so that you cannot even recognize it.

Cursing - Jezebels curse everyone, bringing a curse upon themselves, most of the time unwittingly. Criticism is a form of cursing, both of the person being criticized and of God their Maker. Murmuring and complaint are cursing of circumstances, which also curses God for allowing them. Jezebel is a master of criticism, murmuring, and complaint, as mentioned previously.

Superiority Complex (really, they are insecure) – They see themselves as superior and will talk down to others. You will rarely see a Jezebel give compliments to others. Again, they are on the throne and expect you to compliment them.

A spirit of religion – A Jezebel has a genuine heart to serve the Lord, but they can be very legalistic and religious because of fear and rejection. What I mean is they have a spirit of religion that takes away life instead of giving life. They will beat you up with the word instead of sharing life with the word.

A profound lack of self-worth (insecurity) and understanding of God's love for them personally, regardless of the amount of knowledge of the Word. They have a hard time understanding unconditional love. Most likely, a Jezebel grew up in a conditionally loved home where you had to perform to receive love. There is such a desperate need for self-worth that they are ruthless to gain any recognition, even if they already have it. A Jezebel will believe they have to work to receive God's love.

Because of their insecurity, they will come across as very confident, but it is only a mask to cover up.

Lack of Identity in Christ – Because of deep-seeding rejection, they lack identity and do not understand their identity in Christ and know how to trust and let go. They have to be in control and so it is very hard for them to trust in God for their lives and others. They think they need to make it happen. This is a very big snare of the enemy. Because of the spirit of Fear, it is hard for them to just “BE” in the Lord without works, manipulation, or making things happen in their own strength. Their identity will be in the things such as a club event, job, or even ministry and no one can get in their way.

Lack of Trust in God – Again, they have a hard time trusting God. They truly believe they have to make things happen and cannot wait on the Lord for him to make things happen. There is an extreme fear of failure operating in their lives that they truly cannot rest in the Lord and allow Him to make things happen for them.

Paranoid - Jezebel's are very paranoid individuals and if they believe you are against them, they will turn on you in a heartbeat and bring destruction to your life. It is because of fear they operate in this arena. They grew up in a household where they could not trust their caretakers. If you have mutual friends, they have to know what you talked with them about. They have to know. They cannot stand it if you have conversations with mutual friends if they are not around.

Denial - Jezebel usually cannot see they have a Jezebel Spirit. The victims must first recognize deliverance is needed. If directly confronted and told Jezebel is the problem, it is rare that a person will believe and accept it. Denial is routine because of a spirit of deception. There is always some other reason for their behavior, and other spiritual influences may be actively in operation. The best way is to teach and give an understanding of what fear looks like and its manifestations. Teach until they can see the truth and lead them into repentance.

When a man does not know how to be the spiritual leader, it forces the woman to pick it up and be the spiritual leader of a home. Many women do not want this role, but because the man did not have a good upbringing, he did not know how. At times, some men are very Patriarchal and abuse the word of God to make their wives and children submit to him through manipulation and controlling through intimidation; it is an indication he has self-hatred toward themselves and truly do not have a magnificent view of God's love for him. A man is to love his wife as he loves himself. Scripture references:

Love their wives as Christ loved the Church (Eph. 5:25).

Eph 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; (KJV)

To love their wives as their own bodies (Eph. 5:28,33). Eph 5:28 "So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself." (KJV)

Eph 5:33 "Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband." (KJV)

To nourish (Greek: ektrepho (GSN-), bring up, care for, protect, Eph. 5:29; 6:4; Rev. 12:6)

Eph 5:29 "For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:"

(KJV)

Eph 6:4 "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."

(KJV)

To cherish (Greek: thalpo (GSN-), to foster, warm in one's bosom, Eph. 5:29; 1Th. 2:7)

Eph 5:29 "For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:"

(KJV)

1 Thes 2:7 "But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:" (KJV)

To be joined as one flesh (Eph. 5:30-31)

Eph 5:30-31 "30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. (KJV)

To leave their parents for their wives (Eph. 5:31)

Eph 5:31 "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh." (KJV)

To cleave to their wives (Eph. 5:31; Mt. 19:5)

Eph: 31 "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. (KJV)

Matt 19:5 "And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?" (KJV)

Even church leaders will control their sheep through manipulation and control. You can see this if there is a religious spirit and the gifts are not moving in the church. You will see manipulation through guilt and shame on his sheep.

Diseases on children from a household out of God’s order and the wife wearing the pants:

• Dyslexia

• Hyperactivity

• Learning disabilities

• Autism (this could be generational)

• Homosexuality

Often, when a matriarchal person repents and starts trusting their husband and God, the children straighten up, and their sickness and disease disappear.

Conclusion:

A woman must understand that if she has no man or a hurting man in her life, she must look to God as her covering in the areas where the man is falling short.

A man needs to seek God as to why he is not being the loving leader of his family. The roots can be varied, but they all can be dealt with through confession, repentance, and deliverance.

The ministry involves repenting for not trusting God and walking in the plans and purposes that He has created for each person.

Father, I admit my wrong attitude toward the authority figures You have placed in my life, Your Word first, and my husband second. I confess that I have rebelled against Your Word through my behavior. Please, show me how my need to control and manipulate others came into my life so that I may close the door to this forever. I choose now to forgive everyone who has ever hurt or abused me in any way. I now forgive the following people by name (call them aloud). I confess my lifestyle has been sinful and abusive and ask Your forgiveness and cleansing. I humble myself before You and offer no excuses for my actions. Right now, in the name of Jesus, I renounce the evil work of all witchcraft, control, domination, and manipulation and turn away from all such activity in my life.

I choose to break all ungodly soul-ties with those I have sought to control, dominate, or manipulate. In the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord, I break the ungodly soul-ties with and release the following people by name (those you have manipulated). By an act of my will, I submit to all authority You have placed in my life. I trust my submission and obedience to Your Word to keep, protect, and bless me.
Open my eyes, Heavenly Father, to honestly and clearly see Your Word, and grant me the strength of will to walk in it. In the name of Jesus Christ and through the power of His shed blood, I bind the strong man of Jezebel, part of the Queen of Heaven, and command her and all associated unclean spirits to leave me.

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I command the following demonic spirits to leave me now in Jesus name; I repent and renounce participating with ____________ the following spirits and ask for your forgiveness.

I break and lose myself from all agreement with these demons and call on You, Lord Jesus, to set me completely free. Thank You, Lord. I am set free and receive my deliverance from Jezebel now in Jesus' name. Amen.
