From a Christian perspective, that opens the door to spiritual deception: when something uses “energy fields,” subtle spiritual/psychic ideas, or belief in an unseen force, there is risk of aligning with powers which are not of God. While Rolfing is usually something a person voluntarily seeks, one could be influenced or pressured by a practitioner suggesting deep emotional/energetic effect, or by culture, peers, or wellness communities to try it. If someone is vulnerable—emotionally, spiritually—they may be led to believe that this modality is essential for healing or spiritual well‑being.
