How to Overcome Guilt

How to Overcome Guilt?

Dealing with Guilt from Others

Many people today live in guilt for things that have happened in their past. Guilt is a spirit to keeps the believer in a defeated life instead of a victorious life.

or

A person could have lived with a controlling person who shamed them with guilt to control them.

Are you one of these people who immediately feel guilty even if it is not your fault when something goes wrong around you? Do you feel slimmed by this invisible force?

Did you know guilt keeps you from the Father and also causes you to run and hide instead of going to Jesus to deal with the issue?

Where does that feeling of guilt come from? It doesn't come from God, so it must come from the kingdom of Darkness. You see, Satan's job is to kill, steal and destroy. He wants to separate you from the love of God.

Jesus is slow to anger and is full of mercy. He loves you so much and does not put guilt on His children. He convicts in a very loving way. Satan slims us to feel yucky about ourselves. To stay in unforgiveness.

The enemy will lie and tell you that your sin is too big for God to forgive. That is the lie from the enemy and not from God. God loves you so much that he sent his son for your sins. We have access to the Father through Jesus. Jesus has His arms open to make the past right through his shed blood He did on the cross for you. God's Word also tells us of His loving kindness and merciful side towards those who turn to Him and who fear (respect & honor) Him.

Once a person is separated from God through guilt, they turn to other things, such as gambling, pornography, addictions, etc., to feel better. You see when you gamble or do pornography, it is a temporary feel-good stimulation. In your brain, your serotonin goes back up. It is a temporary rush to cover the pain of self-hatred, self-rejection, etc.

It is a temporary fix, but usually, guilt returns worse than before. It is a vicious cycle. The Bible tells us to draw near to God with assurance, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience!

Satan is the accuser of the brethren. He loves to accuse past failures. His job is to accuse you, but you have to discern good and evil, realize who is talking to you, and not receive it and believe God.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

What you need to do is your past is in the past if you have confessed your sins to the Lord. Remember, fiery darts are accusations from the enemy, and you put out the fiery darts with God's truth. You are a new creation in him, so believe it. Do your failures outweigh the Blood of Jesus, or does the Blood outweigh your failures?

How to Overcome Guilt

If you sin, go to the Lord Jesus Christ and confess your sins. Two, forgive yourself and see yourself washed by the Blood of the Lamb.

If a spirit is projecting guilt on you, recognize it and cast it down. 2 Cor. 10:5.

If someone deliberately puts guilt on you, resist that spirit of guilt and don't fall for the manipulation and control. You do not need to perform to that person to be accepted. You are already accepted by the Lord Jesus Christ.
