The Spiritual Deception Behind Mandalas: A Christian Warning

The Spiritual Deception Behind Mandalas: A Christian Warning

Mandalas have become increasingly popular in Western culture, often praised for their beauty, meditative qualities, and calming effects. They're found in adult coloring books, yoga studios, therapy offices, and even church "creative spaces." But where do mandalas come from, and what spiritual influence lies behind them?

As Christians, we are called to test every spiritual practice and symbol by the Word of God (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22). When we look at the origin and purpose of mandalas, it becomes clear they are not spiritually neutral. Instead, they stem from deeply rooted religious traditions that are incompatible with biblical Christianity.

What is a Mandala?

The word mandala comes from Sanskrit and means “circle.” It refers to a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the universe. Mandalas are often intricate circular designs with geometric patterns and symbolic imagery. While they may appear harmless or artistic on the surface, their origins reveal a deeper and more spiritually concerning foundation.

Origins: Who Created Mandalas?

Mandalas originated in ancient Hindu and Buddhist cultures. There is no singular founder of mandalas, as they developed over time through spiritual teachings in the East. These religious systems used mandalas as sacred art intended to reflect the spiritual structure of the cosmos.

Spiritual Roots

In Hinduism, mandalas are linked to gods such as Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, representing different aspects of creation, preservation, and destruction. They are used in Tantric rituals, which involve esoteric and occult practices.

In Buddhism, particularly Tibetan Buddhism, monks use mandalas in meditation to aid in visualizing spiritual deities and entering altered states of consciousness. The creation and deconstruction of mandalas, especially sand mandalas, is part of a ritual meant to reflect the impermanence of life.

What Were Their Beliefs?

These cultures believe in reincarnation, karma, spiritual enlightenment through self-effort, and communion with spirit beings—concepts that stand in stark opposition to the Christian faith.

Their gods are not the one true God revealed in the Bible, but false deities and demons masquerading as divine beings (1 Corinthians 10:20). Using tools connected to these practices opens the door to spiritual deception and potentially demonic influence.

Why Are Mandalas Used?

Mandalas serve as spiritual tools in Eastern religions. They are used for:

  • Meditation: To focus the mind and enter altered states.

  • Visualizations: Practitioners visualize deities or spiritual forces within the mandala.

  • Rituals: Especially in Tantric practices, mandalas are drawn, meditated upon, and destroyed to symbolize spiritual truths.

  • Healing and Enlightenment: Believed to balance energies and promote spiritual awakening.

In modern Western culture, mandalas are often used for therapeutic purposes, such as stress relief or mindfulness. But despite their new packaging, the spiritual roots remain the same.

Modern Deception: Mandalas in Western Culture

New Age spirituality has rebranded mandalas as tools for inner healing and balance. Therapists and life coaches might encourage clients to color mandalas as a way to reduce anxiety. Some Christian circles have even adopted them under the guise of “Christian meditation.”

But we must not be deceived. No matter how calming or pretty mandalas may seem, their spiritual DNA is occultic.

2 Corinthians 6:14-15 says, “What fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial?” Using spiritually charged symbols from pagan religions puts believers at risk of opening doors to demonic influence.

What Does the Bible Say?

The Bible warns us repeatedly about engaging in pagan practices and incorporating foreign spiritual tools into our lives:

  • “Do not learn the way of the nations…” (Jeremiah 10:2)

  • “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness…” (Ephesians 5:11)

  • “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too.” (1 Corinthians 10:21)

Though mandalas may not appear overtly evil, they are spiritual gateways that can subtly draw individuals into false doctrines and occultism.

The Danger of “Christian Mandalas”

Some churches or Christian groups attempt to redeem mandalas by replacing their images with Christian symbols. However, this is spiritual syncretism—a blending of Christianity with pagan elements. God does not ask us to “baptize” foreign practices. He calls us to be separate and holy (2 Corinthians 6:17).

Testimony: A Warning from Experience

One woman began using mandalas during guided meditation classes. Though she was a believer, she felt they helped her connect spiritually and experience peace. But over time, she began having dark dreams, confusion, and spiritual heaviness. When she received deliverance prayer, the root was traced back to occult meditation and the use of mandalas. Once she renounced it and removed mandala art from her home, the spiritual oppression lifted.

How to Be Free

If you’ve engaged with mandalas—even innocently—repent and renounce them. Here’s a simple prayer:

Prayer of Repentance and Renunciation

Heavenly Father, I repent for participating in practices rooted in false religions. I renounce any involvement with mandalas, Eastern meditation, and New Age spirituality. I ask for Your forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. I close every door I’ve opened to the enemy and command all spirits attached to these practices to leave me now in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Conclusion

As believers, we are called to walk in truth, not trends. The enemy often disguises his tactics in appealing forms. Mandalas are not simply art—they are spiritual tools crafted for purposes that oppose the gospel.

Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world (Romans 12:2). Instead, fill your mind with the Word of God, worship in spirit and truth, and invite the Holy Spirit to be your source of peace—not pagan symbols.

When a Christian engages with mandalas

—whether through coloring books, meditation, or visual art—they may unknowingly open spiritual doors to demonic oppression. Mandalas are not just cultural art; they are spiritual tools used in Hinduism and Buddhism to invoke deities, aid in meditation, and reach altered states of consciousness. When a believer participates in these practices, even out of ignorance, they invite spiritual contamination.

Symptoms can include:

  • Confusion or foggy thinking

  • Nightmares or spiritual attacks in sleep

  • Anxiety, depression, or emotional heaviness

  • Disconnection from God’s presence

  • Compulsive or obsessive thoughts during prayer or worship

  • Loss of interest in spiritual disciplines

  • Increased attraction to New Age or mystical experiences

These manifestations are evidence of spiritual defilement. The believer’s spirit may be oppressed by unclean spirits due to alignment with occult practices. Scripture warns us not to adopt the spiritual practices of pagan nations (Deuteronomy 18:9-12).

Deliverance may be needed to break ungodly soul ties, renounce the spiritual agreements made through the use of mandalas, and cast out spirits of divination, deception, and false peace. True healing comes only through Jesus Christ, not mystical symbols rooted in false religion.

God’s Warning Against Inner Listening and Channeling Spirits

God’s Warning Against Inner Listening and Channeling Spirits

God’s Warning Against Inner Listening and Channeling Spirits

Inner Listening and Channeling: A Deceptive Door to Demonic Influence

In today’s age of spiritual experimentation and New Age teachings, many are drawn to practices like “inner listening” or channeling for personal guidance, emotional healing, or deeper enlightenment. These practices involve quieting the mind to receive supposed messages from spirit guides, ancestors, or other unseen entities. While these methods may appear harmless—or even beneficial—at first, they often open the door to dangerous spiritual influences that can lead to mental torment, confusion, and even death. As Christians, it is crucial to discern the spiritual roots of such practices and to understand why God strictly forbids them.

What Is Inner Listening?

Inner listening refers to the practice of stilling the mind to receive internal guidance, usually attributed to higher beings or universal consciousness. It's often promoted through meditation, channeling, automatic writing, or spiritual coaching. Many practitioners claim to hear messages from ascended masters, spirit guides, deceased loved ones, or extraterrestrial beings. These messages usually come in the form of thoughts, voices, visions, or inner impressions.

The intent behind this practice is often spiritual growth, emotional healing, or personal empowerment. However, it also reflects a deeper desire for secret knowledge and divine insight—outside of God.

Who Uses It and Why?

Those who engage in inner listening come from diverse backgrounds—psychics, mediums, spiritual healers, energy workers, and New Age seekers. Many are genuinely looking for answers, healing from trauma, or purpose in life. Some seek to awaken hidden abilities or establish a direct link to the spiritual world. However, the source of this “guidance” is not the Holy Spirit but unclean spirits that disguise themselves as beings of light.

2 Corinthians 11:14 warns, “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.”

Historical and Cultural Roots

Inner listening and channeling have deep roots in ancient pagan cultures. These practices are found in shamanism, Hinduism, spiritualism, Theosophy, and Eastern mysticism. One key figure in popularizing channeling was Alice Bailey, a Theosophist and medium who claimed to receive messages from a spirit named “Djwhal Khul.” Her writings laid the foundation for much of today’s New Age teachings.

Bailey’s spirituality was steeped in occultism, esoteric knowledge, and Luciferian principles. She saw Lucifer as a bringer of light and knowledge—a blatant contradiction to the truth of Scripture. Her god was not the God of the Bible, but the so-called "universal consciousness" or cosmic force—impersonal and morally neutral.

The Spiritual Danger: Demonic Influence

What many do not realize is that opening oneself to unknown spiritual voices is equivalent to giving demons legal access to torment the soul. These unseen beings do not come in peace. Once invited, they begin to influence the mind and emotions, often leading to mental health issues, hearing disturbing voices, seeing flashing lights or shadowy figures, sleep paralysis, depression, or suicidal thoughts.

While these manifestations are often dismissed as psychological, they are spiritual in origin. People inch closer to madness without realizing the enemy is using their desire for divine connection as a trap.

King Saul: A Biblical Warning

Scripture gives us sobering examples. In 1 Samuel 28, King Saul, after losing favor with God, turned to a medium to call up the spirit of the prophet Samuel. Though he once banished such practices, Saul's disobedience led him into direct contact with the occult. The result? He was told of his impending death. His descent into madness and death was the cost of consulting the dead.

This is not just an Old Testament story—it is a severe warning. When people reject God’s voice and instead turn to lesser spirits for answers, they are stepping into enemy territory.

What Does the Bible Say?

Deuteronomy 18:9–12 clearly forbids inner listening, channeling, and any form of occultism:

“When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord.”

Why does God forbid these things? Because they are not innocent. They involve communion with demons who offer counterfeit guidance that leads to bondage, deception, and spiritual death.

God desires His children to hear His voice—through His Word and the Holy Spirit—not from dark spirits masquerading as guides.

The Occult’s Empty Promises

The occult promises enlightenment, hidden knowledge, and healing. It tempts seekers with control, power, and deeper understanding of life’s mysteries. But in reality, these “gifts” are a baited hook. The knowledge they offer is counterfeit. The power they deliver is slavery. The enlightenment they claim is darkness disguised as light.

Many who enter into inner listening end up spiritually oppressed, emotionally unstable, and physically ill. Deliverance ministries around the world are full of testimonies from people who dabbled in these practices and paid a heavy price—until they turned to Jesus for freedom.

Jesus: The Only True Source of Light

The good news is that Jesus Christ is the only door to true peace, wisdom, and spiritual connection. He doesn’t speak in riddles or manipulate. He says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27).

Jesus demonstrates throughout the Gospels that His power and authority are far greater than the demonic realm. In Mark 1:23-27, Jesus casts out an unclean spirit simply with His word—no rituals, no incantations, no “inner listening.”

Unlike the spirits that demand submission through fear, Jesus brings love, truth, and deliverance.

God’s Invitation to Freedom

If you’ve been involved in inner listening or channeling, know this: You can be free. Repent, renounce the spirits you’ve listened to, and turn to the living God. He will not shame you—He will forgive and deliver you. He longs to speak with you through His Spirit and His Word. You don’t need a spirit guide. You need the Holy Spirit.

Jesus says in John 8:32, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Let His truth be your anchor. Reject the counterfeit. Receive the true and living God.

CONCLUSION

Inner listening and channeling may sound spiritual, but they are dangerous deceptions. Rooted in occultism and guided by demonic spirits, these practices open the door to torment and death. God's Word warns against them not to restrict us, but to protect us. Only in Jesus can we find truth, freedom, and true connection to the One who created us.

Choose the voice of God—not the voices of darkness.

Methods of discernment to not fall into these false demonic practices:

• Who was the founder of this modality?

• What was his/her spirituality?

• What culture did it come out of?

• What were their beliefs?

• Who is their God or gods?

Many occult practices within Christianity require discernment.  Another method of discernment is the Word of God. The word of God is our measuring stick. The more we read the word, know the word, and have a relationship with the Lord, the more we discern right and wrong. We perish from a lack of knowledge.

Hosea 4:6 declares, “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.”

The Founders of Findhorn and Spiritual Legacy

The Founders of Findhorn: A Christian Warning on Peter, Eileen Caddy & Dorothy Maclean’s Spiritual Legacy

Peter, Eileen Caddy & Dorothy Maclean: Findhorn’s Founders and the Dangerous Spirituality Behind the Movement

In the lush northern coast of Scotland lies a community known for gardens, sustainability, and spiritual harmony with nature. This is the Findhorn Community—founded in the 1960s by Peter and Eileen Caddy and Dorothy Maclean. While this group has been praised for its ecological innovation, its spiritual roots are far from biblical and steeped in New Age, occultic practices that contradict the Word of God.

Who Were Peter and Eileen Caddy?

Peter Caddy was a former Royal Air Force officer and hotelier. His wife, Eileen Caddy, claimed to receive divine messages from “the God Within,” which guided her decisions and spiritual insights. These “messages” later became foundational teachings for the Findhorn Community.

Peter was deeply influenced by the Rosicrucian teachings, a mystical blend of Gnosticism, alchemy, astrology, and other esoteric practices. This background paved the way for his acceptance of channeling, inner guidance, and other occult philosophies.

Dorothy Maclean: Communing with Nature Spirits

Dorothy Maclean brought a unique dimension to the group—claiming direct communication with “devas” or nature spirits that guided her in gardening and ecological balance. These beings, according to her writings, were intelligent spiritual entities tasked with overseeing different aspects of the natural world.

In reality, this is nothing short of divination and communication with spirits, both of which are forbidden in Scripture. Maclean taught that by aligning with these spirits, humans could co-create with nature to heal the planet and themselves.

What Did They Believe?

The founders of Findhorn believed in:

  • Channeling inner guidance: Eileen taught people to listen to the “voice within,” which she claimed was divine.

  • Nature spirit communication: Dorothy’s teachings encouraged aligning with spiritual entities in nature.

  • Global spiritual evolution: The community promoted the idea that human consciousness could evolve spiritually to bring peace and transformation to the Earth.

These teachings reflect a pantheistic worldview—the belief that God is in all things, including trees, rocks, and people—which directly contradicts the biblical view that God is distinct from His creation (Genesis 1:1; Romans 1:25).

What Is Their Religion and Culture of Origin?

The Findhorn spiritual model draws heavily from New Age and Theosophical traditions, blending Eastern mysticism, Western occultism, Gnosticism, and modern psychological spirituality. Their beliefs reflect a counterfeit Christianity, often using Christian terms like “God,” “light,” and “service,” but radically redefining them outside biblical truth.

Their spirituality emerged out of post-World War II Europe, a time when people were disillusioned and hungry for peace, purpose, and deeper meaning. This created fertile soil for spiritual deception cloaked in love, light, and unity.

Gods of Findhorn: Who Are They Really Listening To?

Despite their use of the word “God,” the founders did not worship the God of the Bible. Their “God within” was an impersonal force, and their guidance often came from disembodied entities—spirits the Bible clearly warns against.

"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God." (1 John 4:1)
"Let no one be found among you who…practices divination or interprets omens… anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord." (Deuteronomy 18:10-12)

The founders were not hearing from the Holy Spirit, but from demonic spirits masquerading as beings of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). Their “inner voice” was a false guide, luring people away from the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why Christians Must Reject This

Christians must not flirt with teachings that involve:

  • Channeling or spirit communication

  • Pantheistic worldviews

  • Divination and occult practices

  • Redefining God as an impersonal force

These practices open doors to demonic intrusion, confusion, torment, fear, and spiritual darkness. Even engaging with their writings or attending Findhorn-related events can invite demonic oppression.

"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers… what fellowship can light have with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14)

Final Thoughts

While the founders of Findhorn may have seemed peaceful and visionary, their spirituality is built on dangerous deception. Their teachings twist the truth, redefine God, and welcome spiritual forces that are not from heaven. Christians are called to discern the spirits and remain anchored in the unchanging truth of Scripture.

Jesus Christ is not a “light within”—He is the Light of the world (John 8:12), and He does not share His glory with nature spirits or channeled guides.

Exposing Alice Bailey

Exposing Alice Bailey: The Occult Roots of the New Age and Its Clash with Christianity

Alice Bailey and the New Age: A Christian Analysis of Her Teachings and Beliefs"

Alice Bailey is one of the most influential figures in the development of modern New Age spirituality. Her writings have shaped contemporary views on esoteric wisdom, spiritual evolution, and the concept of a coming "New World Order." However, while her teachings continue to inspire spiritual seekers around the world, they also pose a serious threat to biblical Christianity. This article will examine her background, belief system, spiritual influences, and why Christians must reject her teachings.

Who Was Alice Bailey?

Alice Ann Bailey (1880–1949) was a British writer and occultist who became a key figure in the Theosophical and New Age movements. She originally followed the teachings of Helena Blavatsky, the founder of Theosophy, but later developed her own body of esoteric writings through what she described as telepathic dictation from a spiritual being known as "The Tibetan" or Djwhal Khul"—a so-called “Ascended Master.”

Her Modalities and Teachings

Bailey's works span over 20 volumes and include subjects such as esoteric healing, astrology, meditation, initiation, karma, and the spiritual hierarchy of the universe. Some of the most prominent modalities she promoted include:

  • Esoteric Psychology – Teaching that humanity evolves through stages of consciousness and is guided by spiritual masters.

  • Rays and Initiations – Describing spiritual "rays" that influence human development and the path to becoming a divine being.

  • The Reappearance of the Christ – Not referring to Jesus Christ, but to a universal Christ consciousness that will return through a world teacher.

  • The Externalization of the Hierarchy – Preparing the world to accept the rule of spiritual beings over humanity.

Bailey was also the founder of the Lucis Trust, which publishes her work and is deeply involved in promoting United Nations spirituality and global cooperation based on esoteric principles.

Religious Roots and Cultural Origins

Alice Bailey's spiritual framework blends Eastern mysticismWestern occultism, and Theosophy. Theosophy emerged in the late 19th century as an attempt to synthesize all world religions, particularly focusing on Hindu and Buddhist cosmologies.

This belief system promotes reincarnation, karma, the divinity of man, and the existence of hidden masters or spirit guides who direct humanity's spiritual evolution. It is heavily influenced by Eastern spiritual traditions and repackaged in a Westernized, esoteric context.

What She Promoted

Bailey was a key architect of the New Age movement. She popularized the idea of a coming "Age of Aquarius", where mankind would enter a time of peace and enlightenment under the guidance of spirit beings. Her teachings promoted:

  • Globalism and a one-world religion

  • Meditation as a path to divinity

  • Spiritual evolution through esoteric knowledge

  • The "Plan" of spiritual beings to prepare Earth for their rule

In her book The Externalization of the Hierarchy, Bailey outlined a blueprint for preparing humanity to accept the spiritual rule of "Masters of Wisdom."

Gods and Belief System

Bailey did not promote worship of the God of the Bible. Instead, she referred to a "divine Plan" administered by an unseen spiritual hierarchy. Her concept of “God” was impersonal, often equated with universal energy or consciousness. She also promoted Lucifer as a misunderstood symbol of enlightenment, aligning with Blavatsky’s infamous claim that “Lucifer is the light-bearer.”

This directly contradicts the Christian belief that God is personal, holy, sovereign, and revealed uniquely through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). The Bible makes clear that Satan is a deceiver, not a liberator (2 Corinthians 11:14, Revelation 12:9).

Why Her Teachings Negate Scripture

Alice Bailey’s teachings are deeply antithetical to the gospel:

  • She promotes salvation through knowledge and spiritual evolution, whereas the Bible teaches that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8–9).

  • She encourages contact with spirit guides, which is strictly forbidden in Scripture (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).

  • Her idea of a universal Christ consciousness is a counterfeit of the true Christ, who is not an impersonal force but the Son of God, crucified for sin and risen again (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

  • Her global religion and hierarchy sound eerily similar to the one-world religion and government described in Revelation 13, which will be empowered by demonic forces in the last days.

Conclusion: A Call for Discernment

Alice Bailey’s teachings may sound spiritual, inclusive, and enlightening, but they are demonic counterfeits of the truth. As Christians, we are warned not to be deceived by doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4:1) or by “another gospel” (Galatians 1:6-9). Engaging with or embracing these ideas opens the door to spiritual deception, confusion, and even demonic torment.

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God...” —1 John 4:1

May we cling to the truth found in Christ and reject every philosophy that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Many occult practices in Christianity need to be discerned.  Another method of discernment is the Word of God. The word of God is our measuring stick. The more we read the word, know the word, and have a relationship with the Lord, the more we discern right and wrong. We perish from a lack of knowledge.

Fire-Walking: Demonic Power Disguised as Empowerment

Fire-Walking: Demonic Power Disguised as Empowerment

Fire-Walking: Demonic Power Disguised as Empowerment

🔥 Fire-Walking: A Deceptive Spiritual Practice with Demonic Roots

Fire-walking—the practice of walking barefoot over a bed of burning hot coals without physical harm—is often touted as a mental, emotional, or spiritual breakthrough. But beneath the seemingly miraculous feat lies a dark and deceptive power that Christians must be wary of. This ancient ritual is far from a harmless team-building exercise or self-empowerment tool. It is rooted in spiritual deception and occult power.

🔍 Origins of Fire-Walking

Fire-walking has been practiced for thousands of years in various parts of the world, including Fiji, Polynesia, Greece, India, Sri Lanka, and Japan. In many of these cultures, it was (and still is) tied to religious or spiritual rituals. For example, in Hinduism and certain Polynesian traditions, fire-walking is a religious rite performed to honor gods or to prove one’s faith and connection to divine forces.

In some tribal practices, it was believed that only those protected by the spirits could walk across fire unharmed. This concept connects fire-walking to spiritual entities—not the Holy Spirit, but to other deities and spiritual forces which the Bible clearly identifies as demonic. “The things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.” (1 Corinthians 10:20)

👁️ Is It Divination, Energy, or Something Else?

Some modern coaches, motivational speakers, and New Age practitioners claim that fire-walking is a demonstration of "mind over matter" or "energy alignment." Others say it’s about breaking through fear or achieving personal transformation. But let’s be clear—fire-walking is not a mental trick. It's not just physics or psychological manipulation. There is a spiritual element at work, and it is not from God.

When someone walks on fire and comes out unscathed, they are either being manipulated through sleight of hand, or worse—they are being protected by demonic power, which mimics miracles. Satan often performs counterfeit signs and wonders to deceive. “For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:14)

Fire-walking aligns with occult practices and rituals that invoke energy, power, and transformation from sources other than Jesus Christ. This makes it a form of divination or occult manipulation, depending on how it's practiced. Either way, it's opening a door to spiritual forces that are not of God.

📖 Why Fire-Walking Contradicts the Word of God

The Bible is clear that seeking power, transformation, or enlightenment outside of God is sin and dangerous. “There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, or practices witchcraft… or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer…” (Deuteronomy 18:10). While this verse refers to child sacrifice and other demonic rituals, the key principle is: Do not pass through fire or engage in mystical rites that are outside of God's ordained ways.

Participating in fire-walking ceremonies—even if they’re marketed as “motivational” or “empowering”—is participating in a ritual that draws from the same spiritual well as witchcraft and divination.

Jesus never called us to test ourselves through occult practices or physical feats to prove our faith. Instead, we are called to surrender, obey, and walk in the Spirit. Real transformation comes from God through Christ alone, not fire-walking.

⚠️ Consequences of Involvement

Engaging in fire-walking, especially as part of a spiritual or energy-healing exercise, can have serious consequences. Many people who have participated in these rituals report emotional distress, tormenting thoughts, nightmares, increased anxiety, and a loss of peace. These are not random side effects—they are spiritual consequences.

Opening your heart to a demonic realm, even unknowingly, gives the enemy legal ground to torment your mind and emotions. This is not just symbolic—it’s spiritual reality.

If you’ve participated in fire-walking, it's important to repent, renounce the practice, and seek deliverance in Jesus Christ. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9). We perish from lack of knowledge.

✝️ The True Power Comes from Jesus

Only Jesus Christ has the power to truly transform a life. “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32) You don’t need fire, rituals, or mystical experiences to overcome fear or grow spiritually. The Holy Spirit is the one who empowers us, comforts us, and transforms us from the inside out.

Methods of discernment:

• Who was the founder of this modality?

• What was his/her spirituality?

• What culture did it come out of?

• What were their beliefs?

• Who is their God or gods?

Many occult practices in Christianity need to be discerned.  Another method of discernment is the Word of God. The word of God is our measuring stick. From Ecstasy to Oppression: How Feri Witchcraft Pulls You from Christ

From Ecstasy to Oppression: How Feri Witchcraft Pulls You from Christ

From Ecstasy to Oppression: How Feri Witchcraft Pulls You from Christ

The Feri Tradition: A Seductive Trap into Spiritual Darkness

The Feri Tradition is a form of modern pagan witchcraft that emerged in the mid-20th century. Unlike other Wiccan or fertility-based traditions, Feri is considered an “ecstatic” practice, focusing heavily on personal spiritual experience, sensual awareness, and sexual mysticism. It embraces all forms of sexuality and includes ritualistic practices designed to awaken energy and deepen spiritual experiences. While it claims to offer empowerment and freedom, the truth is far darker—and dangerous for the soul.

Feri was developed by Victor and Cora Anderson, who were deeply involved in occult, Gnostic, and spiritualist teachings. Their background was steeped in esoteric mysticism, and Victor Anderson even referred to himself as a "shaman." This tradition blends elements from multiple religions, including African diasporic practices, Kabbalah, and tantric philosophies. From its roots, it is spiritually syncretic and opposes the exclusive truth of Christianity.

The Feri Tradition invites practitioners to engage with spirits, gods, and elemental forces, often through visualization, trance work, and energy manipulation. It focuses on personal gnosis—direct spiritual knowledge—as the highest form of truth. The problem? That “truth” comes from sources entirely outside of Jesus Christ.

The Bible warns strongly against seeking knowledge or power apart from God. “Let no one be found among you… who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft” (Deuteronomy 18:10). These are not just neutral activities—they are spiritually dangerous. What the Feri Tradition calls "ecstatic connection" is often communion with demonic forces masquerading as light. “And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:14)

Christians should not dabble in Feri or any other occult tradition. Even brief involvement can open the door to spiritual oppression, confusion, torment, and fear. Those who have practiced these rituals often report mental and emotional disturbances—nightmares, depression, anxiety, and even voices. These aren’t just psychological phenomena; they are spiritual consequences.

The sensual emphasis of Feri is also deeply concerning. It encourages sexual mysticism without moral boundaries, which completely contradicts God’s design for sexuality in Scripture. “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body...” (1 Corinthians 6:18). Sensual experiences become gateways to spiritual deception, and over time, participants can become numb to conviction and resistant to the truth of the Gospel.

One of the subtle but powerful dangers of Feri is that it offers a sense of personal power and liberation. This appeal to the flesh is what makes it so seductive. People are drawn to the idea of being their own gods—of crafting their own truths. But in doing so, they reject the authority of Jesus Christ. Feri practitioners are often encouraged to deconstruct religious boundaries and embrace spiritual fluidity, which is directly opposed to Christ’s declaration, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

Involvement in Feri can gradually pull someone away from Jesus. At first, it may seem like harmless spiritual exploration. Over time, however, it subtly replaces God’s Word with personal experience and sensual ecstasy. A person’s heart grows cold to the Gospel, their mind becomes darkened, and spiritual bondage can take hold.

If you've dabbled in the Feri Tradition or any New Age spiritual practice, know there is hope and freedom in Jesus Christ. “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36) Repent, renounce the practice, and ask the Holy Spirit to cleanse your heart, soul, and home. Remove any objects, books, or symbols connected to it. God is faithful to forgive and restore.

Ultimately, the Feri Tradition is not just another harmless spiritual path—it is a gateway to spiritual bondage. Christians must discern the spirits and reject anything that draws them away from the truth of God's Word. “Test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1)

The Hidden Dangers of Drumming Circles for Christians

The Hidden Dangers of Drumming Circles for Christians

The Hidden Dangers of Drumming Circles for Christians

Drumming Circles: Spiritual Experience or Deceptive Practice? A Christian Perspective

In recent decades, drumming circles have become increasingly popular in the West, particularly among New Age practitioners and holistic wellness communities. Promoted as a tool for healing, connection, and spiritual awakening, these rhythmic gatherings draw participants into a communal drumming rhythm often under the moon's light. But behind the surface-level appeal of cultural exploration and inner peace lies a deeper spiritual danger that Christians must not ignore.

What Are Drumming Circles?

Drumming circles are ceremonial gatherings in which individuals—often sitting in a circle—play hand drums or percussion instruments together. These gatherings frequently occur outdoors and are particularly popular during new moon or full moon phases, when participants believe they are harnessing cosmic energy for healing or manifestation.

Practices vary, but often include:

  • Rhythmic drumming to induce altered states of consciousness.

  • Chanting or vocalizing prayers to the earth, the moon, or spirit guides.

  • Meditation or trance-like states, where participants feel they have spiritual encounters.

  • Ceremonial elements borrowed from Native American, African, or other indigenous traditions.

Though modern advocates see it as harmless community building or self-exploration, the roots and intent of these practices tell a very different story.

Where Did Drumming Circles Come From?

While drums have been used for centuries in nearly every culture, the ceremonial drumming circle in its modern form is largely a New Age invention. It borrows from a blend of tribal rituals without genuine understanding or respect for their sacred origins.

This blending often includes:

  • Native American powwow rhythms (intended for cultural rituals).

  • West African healing drum traditions (involving ancestral worship).

  • Shamanic drumming used to communicate with spirit worlds.

In other words, modern drumming circles often imitate pagan and animistic rituals, rebranded as wellness tools without confronting their spiritual implications.

How Does It Work?

The mechanism behind drumming circles is based on rhythm and repetition. Steady beats—especially those around 4 to 7 beats per second—can affect brainwave patterns, leading to theta brainwave activity, the same state experienced during deep meditation or hypnosis.

This creates:

  • A trance-like state.

  • A lowered mental guard.

  • Heightened suggestibility and emotional openness.

Proponents argue that this opens a door to higher consciousness. But from a biblical standpoint, this opens spiritual doors that should remain closed.

Why Christians Should Stay Away

Scripture consistently warns against practices that mimic pagan rituals or worship created things instead of the Creator. Drumming circles often:

  • Call on the moon, spirits, ancestors, or earth—blatant violations of God’s commandment.

  • Induce altered states of consciousness, leaving individuals vulnerable to demonic suggestion.

  • Promote a worldview based in pantheism and self-deification, rather than the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:22 says, "Abstain from all appearance of evil." That alone is enough to caution Christians from participating in these events. Romans 1:25 also rebukes those who “worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator.”

Spiritual Consequences of Participation

Engaging in spiritual activities outside of God’s design is not neutral—it is dangerous. Just as Saul experienced torment after seeking a medium (1 Samuel 28), Christians who step outside of God’s boundaries risk spiritual consequences:

  • Mental torment: Confusion, anxiety, and intrusive thoughts.

  • Emotional instability: Heightened emotional sensitivity or depression.

  • Spiritual oppression: Increased spiritual warfare, including tormenting dreams, fear, and a sense of distance from God.

What seems like a “healing experience” can instead open the door to demonic intrusion. Participating in spiritual practices rooted in paganism—even unknowingly—can lead to bondage and oppression.

The Illusion of Healing

New Age practices, like drumming circles, mimic the form of healing but not the power. They offer temporary emotional release or a false sense of peace but fail to bring true freedom.

John 14:6 says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

No ritual, moon phase, or rhythmic beat can replace the redemptive, life-transforming work of Jesus Christ. True healing—spiritual, emotional, and mental—comes only through repentance, faith, and communion with the Holy Spirit.

How to Respond as a Christian

If you’ve participated in drumming circles, either knowingly or unknowingly, there is hope and freedom in Christ.

Steps to take:

  1. Repent: Acknowledge the sin of participating in forbidden spiritual practices.

  2. Renounce: Verbally renounce any ties to the rituals or spirits involved.

  3. Break agreement: Pray for God to sever any spiritual influence that entered through that doorway.

  4. Seek deliverance: Ask the Lord to heal and deliver you from any spiritual oppression.

  5. Replace lies with truth: Fill your mind with the Word of God and align your practices with Scripture.

Conclusion: Worship the Creator, Not the Creation

Drumming circles may seem like harmless fun or a spiritual journey, but beneath the surface lies a deceptive trap that can pull Christians away from Christ and into spiritual bondage.

We were made to worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24), not through rituals that mimic paganism or entertain the enemy’s counterfeits. Stay alert. Stay sober. The enemy prowls like a lion (1 Peter 5:8), looking for any door left open.

Let us close the doors to deception and walk only in the light and freedom of Jesus Christ.
