The Egyptian Sun God Ra: A False Light That Leads to Darkness

The Egyptian Sun God Ra: A False Light That Leads to Darkness

Throughout history, ancient Egypt stood as a hub of spiritual power and idolatry. Among all the gods worshiped, none were as exalted as Ra, the so-called sun god. Egyptians believed Ra created himself out of chaos and brought forth the light of the world. But according to the Word of God, this “light” was a counterfeit illumination — a demonic deception meant to turn hearts away from the Creator of heaven and earth, Yahweh.

Who Was Ra in Egyptian Belief?

Ra was believed to be the god of the sun, the creator of all life, and the ruler of heaven. Ancient Egyptians depicted him with a falcon head crowned by a solar disk, symbolizing his supposed dominion over light and life. They worshiped him through daily rituals, incantations, and offerings, believing he traveled across the sky in his solar boat during the day and battled the forces of chaos each night.

Over time, Ra merged with other Egyptian gods like Amun (Amun-Ra) and Osiris (Ra-Osiris), blending their myths into one supreme deity of creation, death, and rebirth. This concept directly mirrors the false trinity found in many pagan systems — a satanic counterfeit of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Who Created the Idea of Ra?

The worship of Ra originated in Heliopolis, one of Egypt’s oldest cities, around 2400 B.C. Priests there established a complex theology to exalt Ra above all other gods, claiming that he created himself out of the watery abyss called Nun. But this belief reflects Satan’s prideful rebellion — wanting to be like God, self-existent and all-powerful (Isaiah 14:12–14).

The priests of Ra were not merely religious leaders; they acted as occult intermediaries between the spirit world and the people, performing rituals of invocation and power. These practices invited demonic entities masquerading as “gods,” deceiving Egypt into deep spiritual bondage.

What Was the Purpose of Ra Worship?

Ra worship aimed to gain spiritual enlightenment, fertility, health, and eternal life. Egyptians sought his “light” to bless their crops, protect their Pharaohs, and ensure safe passage into the afterlife. But this so-called “light” was spiritual darkness disguised as illumination (2 Corinthians 11:14).

Today, similar beliefs resurface in New Age teachings, solar worship, and even Luciferian symbolism, where “light” represents knowledge and self-deification apart from God. This is the same lie whispered in the Garden of Eden — “You shall be as gods.” (Genesis 3:5)

Why Do People Still Get Involved Today?

Modern spiritual seekers are drawn to ancient Egyptian spirituality because it appears mystical, powerful, and enlightening. Many New Age teachers invoke the energy of Ra or the “sun consciousness” in meditation, yoga, and energy healing practices. Some even channel “Ra entities” claiming to bring wisdom from higher dimensions — but these are familiar spirits, not divine beings.

These practices open spiritual gateways for demonic possession or oppression, allowing entities of false light to control minds, emotions, and even physical health. Scripture warns, “They sacrificed to demons, not to God—to gods they did not know” (Deuteronomy 32:17).

Is Ra Worship Divination?

Yes. Any practice that seeks supernatural knowledge, power, or healing from a spiritual source other than the Holy Spirit is divination. The priests of Ra engaged in rituals, astrology, and channeling, all forms of occultism condemned by God (Deuteronomy 18:10–12).

Even studying Ra with fascination or invoking Egyptian symbols for “energy” or “light” can open a person’s spiritual gates to demonic influence. Remember, the enemy disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).

Why People Need Deliverance from Ra and Egyptian Deities

Many believers unknowingly carry spiritual attachments from ancestral worship or fascination with Egyptian culture, pyramids, or occult practices. These spirits of idolatry, pride, and false illumination can cause confusion, fear, nightmares, and even physical infirmities.

Deliverance begins with repentance and renunciation:

  1. Recognize any past involvement in Egyptian or New Age beliefs.

  2. Repent before God for participating in false worship.

  3. Renounce all spiritual ties to Ra or Egyptian gods.

  4. Remove idols, jewelry, or art connected to Egypt.

  5. Resist demonic oppression by speaking Scripture and using the name of Jesus.

Jesus Christ is the true Light of the world (John 8:12). Only His light exposes darkness and sets captives free. If you have felt drawn to “sun energy” or “Egyptian power,” turn away today and invite the Holy Spirit to cleanse your heart and fill your life with His light.

Narrator (you):
Did you know the Egyptian sun god Ra was never a true god of light—but a counterfeit spirit of deception? Ancient priests of Ra claimed he created himself, but the Bible says there is only one Creator—the Lord God Almighty.

Today, Ra’s influence lives on in New Age “light” practices, sun meditation, and channeling “Ra entities.” These open doors to demonic control disguised as enlightenment.
