Wars and Rumors of Wars – The Beginning of Sorrows - Is it time yet?

Scripture:

“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”

Iran is a key player in the Middle East, and conflict involving it could be one of the many wars leading into the prophesied end times. This could escalate into a global war (WW3), fulfilling this warning by Jesus.

Scripture:

“Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets…”
—Ezekiel 38:5

• “Persia” is the ancient name for modern-day Iran.

• In Ezekiel 38–39, Persia is one of the nations allied with Gog, possibly a Russian leader or power, attacking Israel.

• This war occurs when Israel is dwelling securely.

• God Himself intervenes supernaturally.

📍Some scholars believe the Gog-Magog War is a pre-tribulation event or early in the Tribulation.

Daniel 7:5 (KJV):

“And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.”

🧩 Traditional Interpretation: The Medo-Persian Empire

Most conservative Bible scholars interpret this bear as symbolizing the Medo-Persian Empire, which succeeded the Babylonian Empire.

• The bear is a fitting image—slow but powerful and ferocious.

• The phrase “raised up on one side” reflects how Persia (modern Iran) became the dominant side over Media.

• The three ribs in its mouth are usually interpreted as three major conquests made by the Medo-Persian Empire:

  1. Lydia (Western Turkey)

  2. Babylon

  3. Egypt

These were major powers that fell to Medo-Persia.

🔁 Modern Prophetic Insight: Does the Bear Also Point to Iran Today?

While Daniel 7 primarily speaks of past empires, some scholars and watchmen believe these beasts may also represent end-time powers or spirits resurfacing in the last days.

If Interpreted Prophetically for Today:

• The bear could represent a resurging Persian spirit, or Iran as a modern-day power.

• Iran (Persia) is again aligning itself with Russia (another "bear" symbol) and hostile nations toward Israel, including alliances seen in Ezekiel 38.

• The three ribs may represent past enemies or regions targeted by Iran (e.g., Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the U.S. presence in the Middle East).

• The command “Arise, devour much flesh” hints at an aggressive, war-driven agenda—which fits Iran’s apocalyptic and expansionist ambitions.

• 🔥 Connection Between Daniel 7 & Ezekiel 38

  • Daniel 7:5 (Bear = Medo-Persia)

  • Ezekiel 38:5 (Persia = modern Iran, allied with Gog, potentially Russia)

  Together, they suggest that the spirit behind ancient Persia (hostile to God's people) is reawakening in modern Iran, playing a significant role in end-time conflict.

Daniel 7:6 (KJV):

“After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.”

Historically, this verse is widely interpreted as representing the Grecian Empire under Alexander the Great:

• Leopard: Represents speed and ferocity—Alexander conquered rapidly.

• Four wings: Accentuates the speed of conquest.

• Four heads: After Alexander’s death, his empire split into four kingdoms, ruled by his generals (Ptolemy, Seleucus, Cassander, and Lysimachus).

• Dominion given: The Greek Empire dominated much of the known world.

🔁 Possible End-Times Application — Turkey as the Leopard?

Some modern prophecy scholars believe that Daniel’s beasts may have dual meanings:

1. Historical empires, and

2. Future geopolitical powers active in the last days.

With that framework, Turkey is often proposed as the modern “leopard” power, and here’s why:

Why Turkey Could Be the Leopard in the End Times

1. Successor of the Ottoman Empire

• The Ottoman Empire (centered in modern-day Turkey) succeeded parts of the Greek Empire.

• It ruled over Jerusalem and much of the Middle East for centuries.

• Turkey is seeking to revive its Islamic and regional power, especially under Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has made neo-Ottomanism a public goal.

2. Fast Movement (Wings of a Fowl)

• The leopard with wings symbolizes swift conquest or influence.

• Turkey has rapidly expanded its military influence in Syria, Libya, Africa, and the Mediterranean.

• It uses both diplomacy and military aggression to reshape the Islamic world.

3. Four Heads = Four Divisions or Coalitions?

• This could symbolize a future alliance of Islamic nations led or coordinated by Turkey.

• Or possibly four key regions under Turkish influence: Europe (NATO), the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia.

4. Turkey’s End-Time Role in a Revived Islamic Caliphate

• Turkey may lead a revived caliphate — a coalition of Muslim nations — opposing Israel.

• Many speculate that the Antichrist could arise from a Middle Eastern or Turkish Islamic background (Daniel 8:9–11 suggests a “little horn” from the Seleucid region, which included modern Turkey and Syria).

🧩 Comparing Daniel 7 to Revelation 13

Revelation 13:2:

“And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion...”

• In Revelation, the end-time beast is a composite of the lion (Babylon), bear (Persia), and leopard (Greece).

• This supports the idea that all these past empires will have their spirits revived or geopolitical successors in the last days.

• The leopard element in Revelation suggests a resurgence of the Grecian-Turkish sphere of influence, possibly through Turkey.

⚠️ Final Thoughts: Turkey’s Strategic Importance

• Geopolitical power between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East

• Islamic leadership aspirations

• Growing hostility toward Israel

• Strong ties to NATO and Russia, making it a dangerous swing power

• Could play a major role in Ezekiel 38–39 (Gomer and Togarmah, ancient names for Turkey, are allies of Gog)

✝️ What Should Believers Do?

• Watch Turkey's role in the Middle East and global politics.

• Be spiritually discerning and rooted in Scripture (Matthew 24:4).

• Pray for Turkey—many Christians are persecuted there.

• Stay ready for the return of Christ!

3. Rise of the Antichrist and a False Peace Treaty

Scripture:

“He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering…”
—Daniel 9:27

• A charismatic world leader (Antichrist) emerges.

• He brokers a peace treaty with Israel and possibly Islamic nations after major wars.

• This begins the 7-year Tribulation.

4. The Great Tribulation and Global Chaos

Scripture:

“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world...”
—Matthew 24:21

• Widespread persecution, economic collapse, plagues, and more wars.

• Iran and its allies may be involved in ongoing Middle East turmoil.

• Revelation 6–18 outlines seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments.

• WW3 could unfold during this period.

Megaliths and the Occult: What Christians Need to Know

From the towering stones of Stonehenge to the enigmatic dolmens of Europe and Asia, megaliths—massive stone structures arranged in deliberate patterns—dot the Earth like markers from a bygone era. Some of these ancient sites are aligned with celestial bodies, suggesting possible astrological or spiritual purposes, while others served as ceremonial or burial grounds. Though their original function remains uncertain, they continue to draw interest from spiritual seekers, pagans, and tourists alike.

But as believers in Christ, we must ask: What spirit empowered these structures? Were they simply expressions of early culture and ingenuity, or is there something more spiritually deceptive behind them?

Let’s take a closer look through biblical discernment, asking vital questions to ensure we don't unknowingly engage with spiritual counterfeits rooted in paganism or the occult.

What Are Megaliths?

The term megalith comes from the Greek words mega (great) and lithos (stone). These structures often consist of large upright stones, sometimes capped by horizontal stones, arranged in circles, rows, or burial chambers. Stonehenge is perhaps the most famous example, believed to have been constructed over 4,000 years ago. Some megalithic sites also feature ceremonial roadways that align with solstices or equinoxes, hinting at astrological observance.

While modern archaeologists debate the exact purposes of these structures—be they religious, social, or astronomical—many scholars agree they were places of spiritual significance to the cultures that built them. And herein lies the concern: What spirits were they honoring?

How to Discern Megaliths Through a Biblical Lens

As Christians, we're instructed to "test the spirits" (1 John 4:1) and examine everything by the Word of God. Before accepting any ancient practice or site as benign or a historical curiosity, we must ask key questions rooted in Scripture:

1. Who Founded These Modalities or Structures?

Megaliths were typically constructed by prehistoric or early pagan cultures. These were not God-fearing civilizations, but rather polytheistic or animistic societies that worshipped creation rather than the Creator. There is no record of these builders following the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In fact, Scripture warns us not to adopt the practices of nations that served other gods (Deuteronomy 18:9-12).

2. What Was Their Spirituality?

The spirituality behind these structures was not neutral. Archaeological findings suggest sun worship, moon observances, and seasonal fertility rites. In other words, many megaliths functioned as temples of idolatry or portals for communing with false gods. This is strictly forbidden in Scripture.

“They sacrificed to demons, not to God… gods they had not known…” – Deuteronomy 32:17

We must recognize that spiritual power exists in such places, but not the power of God. Instead, these stones became altars to principalities and demonic forces that have masqueraded as deities throughout history.

3. What Culture Did It Come Out Of?

Most megaliths originated from Celtic, Druidic, or Neolithic cultures—none of which honored the God of the Bible. Druids, for instance, were known to practice divination, human sacrifice, and spiritual communion with the dead. These practices are strictly condemned in Scripture.

“There shall not be found among you anyone who… practices divination, or tells fortunes, or interprets omens, or a sorcerer…” – Deuteronomy 18:10

When Christians visit, venerate, or participate in ceremonies at these ancient sites, they risk spiritual defilement, even unknowingly.

4. What Were Their Core Beliefs?

The builders of megaliths were often animists, believing that spirits inhabited the natural world—trees, rocks, rivers, and animals. They believed stones held energy or life force, an idea echoed in today’s New Age beliefs like crystal healing and earth energy lines.

This belief is completely opposed to Scripture, which teaches that God is the Creator and Lord over all. No object, no matter how ancient or mysterious, contains innate power or divinity.

5. Who Was Their God or gods?

The answer here is sobering: their gods were Baal, Asherah, sun deities, or other pagan idols. These false gods demanded sacrifices and lured people away from Yahweh. God often judged Israel for adopting such practices.

“They built high places to Baal… to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to Molech.” – Jeremiah 32:35

The same demonic spirits behind those idols are still operating today. When people engage in “harmless” ceremonies at megalithic sites—chanting, meditating, or aligning with “earth energies”—they open themselves up to spiritual deception.

Modern Fascination with Megaliths: A Spiritual Trap?

New Age practitioners often flock to these ancient stone sites, treating them as sacred spaces or energy portals. They conduct solstice rituals, divination, or crystal alignments—sometimes even claiming healing or awakening experiences.

But Scripture is clear: God’s people must not mix light with darkness.

“What fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” – 2 Corinthians 6:14

Even well-meaning Christians may be tempted to romanticize these places as symbols of lost knowledge or ancient wisdom. However, we are warned not to lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5) or seek power apart from the Holy Spirit.

Closing Warning and Encouragement

If you’ve participated in visiting or honoring these sites, even as a tourist or in curiosity, repent and renounce any spiritual ties you may have unknowingly formed. Ask the Lord to close every open door to the enemy and bring cleansing through the blood of Jesus Christ.

Remember, Jesus is our only gateway to the supernatural. Any other path—no matter how old, intriguing, or mystical—leads to spiritual bondage, not freedom.

The Truth About Medicine Men: Why Christians Must Say No

In today’s spiritually diverse world, many are turning to traditional healers known as medicine men, often found in Native American and tribal cultures. These individuals function as shamans, spiritual intermediaries, and healers. But should Christians seek healing or guidance from them?

The answer is a resounding no—and here's why.

What Is a Medicine Man?

A medicine man is typically a male shaman or spiritual healer who engages in rituals to heal the body, mind, and soul. These rituals are not based on science or biblical principles but draw from pagan spiritual practices, ancestral worship, and interaction with spirit guides. Their culture is steeped in animism—the belief that spirits exist in animals, rocks, rivers, and other elements of nature.

Their power comes from spiritual forces, but these are not from the Holy Spirit. These practices often involve chanting, drumming, trances, and altered states of consciousness—tools that open spiritual gateways. But these gateways lead to demonic torment, not divine healing.

Who Are They Really Calling On?

The core belief of medicine men is that healing comes through appeasing or manipulating spirits—spirits that masquerade as helpers but are actually demons (2 Corinthians 11:14). These entities do not bring peace or wholeness. Instead, people who open themselves up to these forces often begin experiencing:

• Hearing voices

• Seeing flickering lights

• Mental torment

• Confusion and depression

• Thoughts of suicide

What may begin as a "healing session" ends in spiritual bondage and psychological devastation.

What Does the Bible Say?

God warned His people against going to sorcerers, diviners, and mediums:

“Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.” – Leviticus 19:31

King Saul's life is a chilling example. In desperation, he consulted the witch of Endor. That single decision brought judgment, and ultimately, his death (1 Samuel 28). When we seek power, healing, or knowledge outside of God’s truth, we open ourselves to judgment and deception.

God's Healing is Pure and Holy

True healing comes from Jehovah Rapha—the Lord who heals. He invites us to trust in Jesus Christ, who bore our iniquities and heals our wounds (Isaiah 53:5). Turning to a lesser power is not only idolatry, it invites spiritual contamination.

Lunomancy: Divination by the Moon’s Shadows — A Spiritual Deception

Lunomancy, an ancient and obscure form of divination, involves interpreting the shadows of the moon cast on a person’s face dusted with silver. At first glance, this may seem harmless or mystical, but its spiritual origins and consequences tell a very different story. As believers in Christ, we must discern the source behind such practices and understand what the Word of God says about seeking knowledge from creation rather than the Creator.

Origins of Lunomancy

Lunomancy traces back to ancient pagan cultures, particularly in the Greco-Roman world and Eastern mystical traditions, where moon worship and celestial divination were common. The moon, symbolizing femininity, mystery, and hidden knowledge, was revered as a goddess or divine entity in many cultures, such as Selene in Greek mythology and Chandra in Hinduism.

In these societies, practitioners believed that the moon held secrets about the future and a person’s destiny. By observing the light and shadows the moon cast, especially with the added symbolism of silver (often associated with lunar deities), they believed they could gain insight from spiritual forces.

But these were not the forces of God.

What Did They Believe?

Those who practiced lunomancy believed the moon could reveal truths, emotions, and destinies. These diviners often entered meditative trances or ritual states to receive revelations, sometimes accompanied by chanting or the invocation of lunar spirits. Their “gods” were impersonal cosmic forces or literal moon deities—not the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

By seeking guidance from the moon rather than from the Holy Spirit, they opened themselves to deception and demonic influence. The spiritual entities behind such practices are not neutral—they are fallen.

The Dangers of Lunomancy and Similar Occult Practices

Lunomancy may seem like a poetic or artistic practice, but it is rooted in rebellion against God's authority. Seeking hidden knowledge outside of God’s provision leads people into spiritual deception. Engaging in lunomancy and similar occult methods can result in serious spiritual consequences:

• Mental torment

• Hearing voices

• Seeing strange lights or apparitions

• Sleep paralysis or night terrors

• Depression, anxiety, and confusion

• Even suicidal thoughts or death

Why does this happen? Because these practices open spiritual doors to the demonic realm. Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), and the moon’s allure becomes a false light leading to darkness.

Biblical Examples: Saul's Tragic Mistake

God makes it clear in His Word that divination, regardless of the form, is forbidden. One powerful example is King Saul. When Saul could no longer hear from God due to his rebellion, he sought a medium to call up the prophet Samuel’s spirit (1 Samuel 28). This was a direct violation of God’s command, and the consequences were devastating—Saul lost his life, his kingdom, and his legacy.

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (NKJV) warns:

“There shall not be found among you anyone who...practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer... For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord.”

The same warning applies today. Whether it’s tarot, astrology, crystal energy, or lunomancy—God says no. Not because He is restrictive, but because He is protective.

Why God Warns Against Divination

God alone holds the future. When we consult the occult, we bypass the Holy Spirit and seek truth from fallen spirits. It’s not just misguided—it’s spiritually dangerous.

Isaiah 8:19 (NIV) says:

“When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists... should not a people inquire of their God?”

God wants to protect us from demonic influence. He desires relationship, not ritual. He offers clarity and peace—not confusion and torment.
