How To Walk In A Fallen World!!!

How To Walk In A Fallen World!!! - Walk out and/or keep your healing!

How To Walk In A Fallen World!!! - Walk out and/or keep your healing!

We are ALL walking out SANTIFICATION until Christ comes for His bride!

My Process to Healing! I had to learn that Disease comes when we are separated from God, from ourselves, and from others. My healing started when I reconciled with God and received His love, reconciling with Him as my Father and making peace with Him. I also had to reconcile with myself and with others to complete the healing process, forgive my debts, and love who I truly am! Plus, continually forgive when others hurt you again!

The heart is made to love, nothing else. When we forgive, we are loving. Love is forgiveness. Jesus showed us the ultimate love of dying on the cross for us, and did it to bring us forgiveness. The first part of Matthew 22:38-40 was described when I spoke of Love of God. As we read on in Matthew 22:38-40, it says, "..and the second one is like unto it, we are to love others as we love ourselves."
Simply put, as we get to "know" God and how much He loves us and is able to receive that love for us personally, we are to do the same with others and not believe the lies we believe! Those lies also separate us from God's love. I know I believed some of those lies, which separated me.

Receive God's love more and more, and the hidden impurities surfaced. My sins were, and still are, being exposed so I can confess them. When I confessed them, God purged me and it brought me even closer to Him. That's the good news!

We get stuck on loving ourselves! We don't even want to make friends because we know ourselves all too well, all the hidden junk, all the past mistakes, etc., for fear they'll find all this stuff out. The truth is, God, already knows it anyway.

We get mad at ourselves when we make a mistake (sin). I know I did. I used to beat myself up literally. I was a rage alcoholic against myself. We think we must "pay" for them somehow, stay miserable for a few days, etc. But, if we truly believe in forgiveness, we would take it the minute we sinned, thereby staying free FROM sin, as Jesus promised. It's not that there won't be sin any longer; it's that we don't take it when it comes!

The Sanctification Process - don't be tricked by the enemy:

* To come clean or identify unforgiveness, if you have not done this already, list when you got hurt, experienced trauma or rejection, and see if a person, God, or self is attached to that event you need to forgive. Go back to your earliest memory and work forward. Did you know unforgiveness binds you to that person and also binds you to emotional pain? Every emotional pain in your life is a result of unforgiveness. When you can genuinely forgive a person, your heart will healed -- no more pain around that memory. Forgiveness of sins and healing diseases work together! Are you a stuffer - stuffing your emotions? Many people suppress their feelings and don't deal with their pain. A stuffer denies specific strong needs and represses a lot of feelings – shut down. Eventually, what they stuffed comes out in sickness, disease, or mental torment. Learn when someone hurts you to not stuff it or go in denial. Recognize your hurt and ask God to help you forgive instead of stuffing. "Stuffing is bad to your health." Do you replay past events in your head or tell the same story over and over what someone else, church, or job did to you, and you cannot stop thinking or stop talking about it? Guess what! That is Unforgiveness! Pay attention to what you are thinking or talking about!

* Then 1 John 1:9 - confess these sins to God, and then RECEIVE forgiveness. Simply confessing is good, but it's complete when we RECEIVE forgiveness. If you have a hard time receiving, that's OK, it will come as you continue your love quest with God.

* Do you have expectations of others to meet your needs as a parent would? Are you still performing? Are you hoping they will say words that you NEED? Are you in a cycle of being abused, expecting things to be different? REMEMBER: Doing the same thing but expecting different results is the definition of INSANITY. Are you disappointed, hurt, and crushed every time it does not happen AGAIN? Guess what, they won't, and it won't change. Satan is setting you up for disappointments heaped with more hurt and pain. Let go of the expectations of others.

EXPECTATIONS are really judgment/bitterness. Only the Lord can meet your needs. When we expect someone to act like a parent or special someone, we make them an idol. My healing came faster when I released the people I had expectations of. I was flooded with freedom from my heart. Plus, they changed!

* Hurting people hurts people. We live in a world full of hurting people. Expect to get hurt by others but not broken. How do I stay intact? The faster you separate them (Romans 7 Separation Teaching - it's not them but the sin in them), forgive them (a friend told me, "forgive before the crow gets cold"), then you won't be broken.

Jeremiah 5:25 says that we withhold good things from us. When we don't forgive, we block all blessings! Isaiah 59:1-2 says, God can heal us, but our sins and iniquities prevent Him. He cannot move against our will. Our sins and iniquities are unforgiveness and not receiving God's love.

* Are you being driven to meet everyone else's expectations? - "Fear of man", "fear of rejection", fear of failure", fear of abandonment", etc. Stop if you are! God leads, and satan drives. If satan is driving you, then get out of the driver's seat and allow the Lord to lead you. Being led is much more peaceful than being driven by fear.

"1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. 3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. 4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For every man shall bear his own burden."

* Do you get all caught up helping others (advising others when they didn't ask) and not taking care of self? False Burden Bearing is rooted in rejection! The enemy is tricky and will use your feelings of rejection to try to get you to help others (to steal your peace) so that you will feel accepted, but in reality, satan is stealing your peace and keeping you in "turmoil." It is meeting a need in you to help others. Let go and let God! Let Him be in control! Yes, pray for them, but release them to the Lord standing in faith, saying, "It is done." This is activating your faith by standing!

You do want to come alongside them! We are to support them during their trials. You are not there to solve their solutions. You want to avoid becoming consumed with their thoughts about the situation and person (children, parents, or someone they care about).

* Watch your thought life and don’t dwell in the negative. Keep our thoughts captive under truth, casting down all imaginations that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God. (II Corinthians 10:5).

If you believe the negative lies of Satan or others, it can cause you to pursue perfection, performance, drive, pull away, and engage in self-comparison, ultimately causing you to lose your peace and separate you from the Love of the Lord! Resist him because thoughts can lead to sin! "Submit yourselves to God, resist the Devil, and He will flee." This means submitting your mind, body, and soul to the Lord.

* Know God's Love Is Unconditional! There is nothing you can do to receive more of His LOVE, and there is no sin so large to lose His LOVE. The only difference between the lost and the saved is we have the promises. He loves the lost just as much as the saved. Sin separates us, but God is always there with His arms wide open to receive you back through His mercy. You do not need to perform to receive more of His LOVE. It's already done! The Scripture clearly teaches that God's love (phileo, agape, aheb, ahabah, etc.) is unfailing, undeserved, and unilateral (completely one-sided in initiation). But is God's love without condition--I.E.: UN- conditional? Come into His Rest!!!

*
Watch what comes out of your mouth! Is It a Good Report or a Bad report?

(Philippians 4:8) "Finally brethren, Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things. AND those things which ye have both learned, received, heard, and seen in me, do, and the God of peace shall be with you."

When you have symptoms, don't receive them or become one with them.

Conclusion:

Don't be tricked by the enemy, but be wise (Hebrews 5:14) and discern good and evil. Recognize the accuser, cast those thoughts down, and don't receive them, even if they come from a person. Know who you are to the Lord. You are precious in His sight!

I leave you with this scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:23 "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Familiar Spirits Exposed: A Biblical Warning Every Christian Must Know

Familiar Spirits Exposed: A Biblical Warning Every Christian Must Know

Familiar Spirits Exposed: A Biblical Warning Every Christian Must Know

In today’s world, many unknowingly invite dangerous spiritual forces under the guise of curiosity or misguided religious beliefs. One such force is the familiar spirit—a demonic entity that has operated since ancient times. The Bible speaks clearly against interacting with familiar spirits, necromancers, or sorcerers, labeling such acts as abominations.

📖 What Are Familiar Spirits?

The term “familiar spirit” refers to a demon that interacts closely with a person, usually through sorcery, witchcraft, necromancy, or divination. In Hebrew, the word for familiar spirit is 'ob', which literally means “leathern bottle.” It symbolized that the person was merely a vessel for the indwelling spirit. The Greek counterpart is pytho, as seen in Acts 16:16, where a girl possessed with a spirit of divination brought her masters profit through fortune-telling.

These spirits pretend to be helpful or informative, often impersonating deceased loved ones or spiritual guides. But they are, in fact, deceiving demons, aligned with Satan, meant to trap the soul and lead it away from God.

⛔ What Does the Bible Say?

God strongly forbids His people from consulting mediums, necromancers, or anyone with familiar spirits. Here are some direct scriptures:

  • Leviticus 19:31 – "Regard not them that have familiar spirits... I am the Lord your God."

  • Deuteronomy 18:10-11 – "There shall not be found among you... a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer."

  • Isaiah 8:19 – "Should not a people seek unto their God? For the living to the dead?"

These spirits lead people into spiritual bondage. Scripture also shows how God dealt with those who entertained them. King Saul, once chosen by God, fell into rebellion and eventually sought the witch of Endor (1 Samuel 28), an act that sealed his downfall.

👿 How Familiar Spirits Operate

Familiar spirits imitate the dead, speak through mediums, or influence the thoughts and actions of individuals. They can manifest through:

  • Dreams or visions

  • Voices or impressions

  • Psychic powers or prophetic imitations

  • Emotional torment or false comfort

They pretend to be servants, guides, or even "angels of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14), but they deceive the soul into spiritual slavery.

🧙‍♂️ Necromancy, Witchcraft & Sorcery

Necromancy is the attempt to communicate with the dead, often through rituals. Witchcraft and sorcery, similarly, involve calling upon spirits for power or knowledge. These practices are strictly forbidden by God and are often how familiar spirits gain access.

Examples in Scripture:

  • The Witch of Endor (1 Samuel 28:7-25)

  • Simon the Sorcerer (Acts 8:9-11)

  • The girl at Philippi (Acts 16:16) possessed by a spirit of divination

  • Magicians in Pharaoh's court (Exodus 7:11-22)

  • False prophets and dreamers (Jeremiah 14:14; Ezekiel 13:6)

These practices are rooted in paganism, Babylonian mysticism, and Satanic deception—bringing spiritual corruption to any who partake.

🌀 Demon Possession & Manifestations

Scripture reveals many examples of demonic possession:

  • The Gadarene demoniac (Mark 5:1-20)

  • The deaf and mute boy (Mark 9:17-29)

  • Mary Magdalene, delivered from seven demons (Luke 8:2)

  • Saul, tormented by an evil spirit (1 Samuel 16:14)

These demons often cause physical, emotional, and mental torment. Jesus cast them out with authority, demonstrating His power over all darkness (Mark 1:23-26; Luke 4:33-36).

🛡️ Deliverance Is Possible

Praise God, Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). He gave us power over all unclean spirits (Luke 10:19). Deliverance is available through:

  • Repentance from sin and occult practices

  • Renouncing all involvement with witchcraft, necromancy, and spiritualism

  • Calling on the name of Jesus Christ with authority

  • Receiving prayer and ministry through the Holy Spirit

The early church demonstrated this power (Acts 5:16, 8:7, 19:12), and believers today can walk in that same authority through the Holy Spirit.

🏛️ Rooted in Pagan Culture

Most of these occult practices originated in Babylon, Egypt, Greece, and Rome—cultures that worshipped many gods and spirits. Their spiritual beliefs centered around manipulation, control, and power through false gods and demonic spirits.

Examples include:

  • Balaam the diviner (Numbers 22-24)

  • Jezebel's sorceries (2 Kings 9:22)

  • The Chaldeans’ enchantments (Daniel 2:2)

Their gods were often demons disguised as deities. These cultural practices were meant to control outcomes, curse enemies, or predict the future—all forbidden in God’s kingdom.

⚖️ Final Judgment Awaits These Spirits

Demons know their time is limited. Scripture tells us they tremble before God (James 2:19) and will be judged (Matthew 8:29; Jude 1:6; Revelation 20:10). Satan, their leader, is described in many ways: Abaddon, Apollyon, the dragon, the serpent, the liar, the accuser. His destiny is eternal fire—and so is the fate of all demons.

✨ Freedom in Christ

You don’t need to remain in fear or bondage. If you’ve participated in these practices—knowingly or unknowingly—Jesus is ready to set you free. His blood breaks every curse and cleanses every soul.

Symptoms of a Spirit of Fear – Overcoming the Spirit of Fear

Symptoms of a Spirit of Fear – Overcoming the Spirit of Fear

Symptoms of a Spirit of Fear – Overcoming the Spirit of Fear

Trusting God

The spirit of fear is one of Satan’s most destructive weapons against God’s people. It is more than just a feeling—it is a demonic stronghold that can invade the soul and body, leading to physical, emotional, and spiritual bondage. Fear opens the door to torment (1 John 4:18), and when not addressed, it can lead to breakdowns in health, joy, relationships, and purpose. Below are symptoms and manifestations of the spirit of fear, followed by biblical steps to overcome it through Christ.

Physical Manifestations of the Spirit of Fear

Fear begins spiritually but often manifests physically. When fear becomes chronic, it produces real stress on the body. The body and mind are connected—what affects one, affects the other. Symptoms may include:

  • Tension or tight muscles (especially in the neck, shoulders, or jaw)

  • Headaches or migraines

  • Back pain or stiffness

  • High blood pressure

  • Numbness or tingling in arms or legs

  • Indigestion, heartburn, or acid reflux

  • Irritable bowel, colitis, or peptic ulcers

  • Difficulty breathing, asthma, shortness of breath

  • Chest tightness or angina

  • Skin issues: rashes, eczema, itching

  • Allergies or frequent infections due to a weakened immune system

  • Chronic fatigue, exhaustion, low energy

  • Dry mouth, lump in the throat sensation

  • Cold hands or feet (circulatory disruption)

  • Difficulty falling or staying asleep

  • Overeating or lack of appetite

  • Unhealthy weight gain or loss

  • Diabetes-related stress reactions

These physical symptoms can be compounded by emotional trauma, generational curses, or unaddressed spiritual wounds. The longer fear rules, the deeper it roots itself.

Emotional and Mental Symptoms of a Spirit of Fear

Fear is a paralyzer. It shuts down joy, decision-making, and hope. When fear is allowed to fester, it takes over the mind and emotions:

  • Constant anxiety or nervousness

  • Depression, lack of joy or enthusiasm for life

  • Mental exhaustion or brain fog

  • Inability to concentrate or focus

  • Forgetfulness and indecisiveness

  • Feeling emotionally drained or mentally strained

  • Pessimism, sarcasm, or cynicism

  • Frequent crying or being emotionally on edge

  • Feelings of being overwhelmed, overcommitted, or unable to cope

  • Low self-worth, self-condemnation, or feeling broken in spirit

  • Negative self-talk or perfectionist demands

  • Overreacting or underreacting to stress

  • Moodiness or emotional instability

  • Loss of sense of humor or inability to laugh

  • Difficulty adjusting to changes in life

  • Feeling “stuck,” hopeless, or unable to move forward

  • Obsessive thoughts or racing mind

  • Trouble letting go of past disappointments

Behavioral Signs of Fear Operating in Daily Life

Fear doesn’t just stay internal—it shows up in our actions, choices, and relationships. When under the influence of fear, people may:

  • Withdraw from social contact or avoid people

  • Exhibit nervous habits (e.g., nail-biting, pacing, fidgeting)

  • Feel panicky or driven by urgency

  • Become workaholics or perfectionists

  • Set unrealistic goals or deadlines

  • Attempt to "do it all" to gain approval or feel worthy

  • Engage in escapist behaviors (shopping sprees, binge eating, excessive TV, etc.)

  • Take tranquilizers, alcohol, or other substances to relax

  • Avoid conflict or confrontation

  • Perform below potential at work or school

  • Become overly competitive, even in unneeded areas

  • Struggle to bounce back from setbacks

  • Feel out of control or powerless

  • Overfill their schedules to prove worth

These self-defeating patterns are often deeply rooted in a stronghold of fear and must be addressed at the spiritual level.

Scriptural Truth: God Has Not Given Us the Spirit of Fear

2 Timothy 1:7 declares, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Fear is a lying spirit. It pretends to protect but actually enslaves. It robs believers of peace, joy, and clarity. Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18), including those in bondage to fear!

Steps to Overcome the Spirit of Fear

1. Recognize the Root – Ask the Holy Spirit to show where fear entered: trauma, generational sin, abuse, witchcraft, or rejection.

2. Take Responsibility – Acknowledge fear as sin when you’ve come into agreement with it.

3. Repent and Renounce – Break covenant with fear. Say aloud:
“I repent for allowing fear into my life. I renounce and break agreement with the spirit of fear in Jesus’ name!”

4. Remove the Spirit – Command it to go:
“Spirit of fear, I bind you and cast you out in the name of Jesus Christ! You no longer have legal access to my life!”

5. Replace with Truth – Fill your mind with the Word.
Key Scriptures:

  • Isaiah 41:10 – “Fear not, for I am with you…”

  • Psalm 34:4 – “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

  • Romans 8:15 – “You did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear…”

6. Anoint Yourself with Oil – As a prophetic act, anoint your forehead and declare peace and soundness of mind in Christ (James 5:14).

7. Rejoice and Restore – Thank the Lord for deliverance and walk in faith daily. Rebuild your spiritual strength through prayer, worship, and renewing your mind.

Taking the Spoils — A Biblical Strategy for Victory

✍️ Taking the Spoils — A Biblical Strategy for Victory

Taking the Spoils — A Biblical Strategy for Victory

“So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled… and they carried away very much spoil.”
—2 Chronicles 14:12–13

The story of King Asa in 2 Chronicles 14–16 presents a powerful illustration of what it means to walk in obedience to God, prepare in seasons of peace, and trust Him in the face of overwhelming battles. The reward? Victory and spoil.

I. The Path to Peace Begins with Obedience (2 Chronicles 14:1–7)

I. The Path to Peace Begins with Obedience (2 Chronicles 14:1–7)

Asa inherited a kingdom and immediately began cleansing the land. He removed pagan altars, high places, and images. He didn’t just tolerate evil; he tore it down. This bold obedience was honored by God.

Asa commanded Judah to seek the Lord and to obey His law. As a result, God gave him ten years of peace. But Asa didn’t waste that peace. He used it to build—fortified cities, walls, towers, and an army of valiant men. He understood that peace is not a time for complacency but a time for preparation.

Personal Application:
Have you torn down the spiritual idols in your life—bitterness, fear, pride, or unforgiveness? Peace comes when our hearts are wholly turned toward the Lord.

II. When the Enemy Returns (2 Chronicles 14:8–15)

Peace doesn’t last forever. The enemy always returns—just as Satan returned to tempt Jesus again after the wilderness. Asa faced an invading army of a million Ethiopians with 300 chariots. But instead of panicking, Asa prayed:

“Help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude” (v.11).

He acknowledged his weakness and fully relied on God. The result? The Lord Himself defeated the enemy. Asa and his army pursued them and gathered great spoil—livestock, riches, and goods. This is more than just winning; this is taking ground.

Spiritual Truth:
When you fight in God’s strength, He not only brings victory but also increases your spiritual inheritance. Like Asa, you can take the spoils of healing, restoration, and deliverance when you overcome by faith.

III. The Danger of Forgetting God (2 Chronicles 15–16)

God sent Azariah the prophet to warn Asa: “If you seek Him, He will be found. If you forsake Him, He will forsake you” (15:2). Asa listened—for a time. For thirty-five years, he reigned in peace and prosperity. But he failed to completely remove all idol worship.

In Asa’s thirty-sixth year, a new threat arose. But this time, Asa relied on a foreign king rather than God. He used the temple’s gold to bribe Ben-Hadad of Syria for military help. It “worked”—temporarily. But God sent another prophet, Hanani, to rebuke him:

“Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and not on the Lord your God, therefore… you shall have wars” (16:7–9).

Instead of repenting, Asa became angry, imprisoned the prophet, and oppressed the people. His spiritual decline continued until his death. He died diseased, having trusted physicians over God (16:12).

Warning for Today:
When we stop seeking God and begin relying on human solutions—whether psychology, medicine, or worldly strategies—we forfeit the spiritual victories and spoils we could have gained through faith.

IV. Spoils from the Lord Throughout Scripture

This biblical principle of “taking the spoils” is not isolated to Asa:

  • Israel in Egypt: God gave the Israelites favor and they “spoiled the Egyptians” as they departed (Exodus 12:36, Psalm 105:37).

  • David and Goliath: After David’s faith-filled victory, Israel took the Philistines’ goods (1 Samuel 17:53).

  • Jehoshaphat: Surrounded by enemies, he turned to God and collected so much spoil it took three days to gather it all (2 Chronicles 20:25).

  • Paul and Silas: Imprisoned but praising, they took the “spoil” of salvation in the form of the jailer and his entire household (Acts 16).

  • Jesus Christ: The ultimate victor. Through the cross, He “spoiled principalities and powers” (Colossians 2:15) and now divides the spoils with the strong (Isaiah 53:12).

V. How Believers Today Can Take Spoil

You were not called to just survive life. You were called to conquer—then take spiritual spoil:

  • Overcome the world by faith in Jesus (1 John 5:4–5).

  • Overcome demonic opposition by the Spirit of God and truth (1 John 4:4).

  • Be more than a conqueror—take what the enemy tried to steal and use it for God’s glory (Romans 8:37).

Every trial you overcome becomes a testimony. Every healing you receive is a weapon against future attacks. Every deliverance is a spiritual spoil that strengthens your walk and helps others.

Jesus Came to Mend a Broken Heart: Overcoming the Spirit of Self-Pity

Self-pity is more than just feeling sorry for yourself; it is a spirit that binds you tightly to the painful past like super glue, preventing you from stepping into the glorious future God has ordained for you. This spirit is not from God but from the enemy, aiming to keep you trapped in bitterness, defeat, and despair.

What Is Self-Pity?

Self-pity is a spiritual stronghold that creates a cycle of mental, emotional, and physical decline. It convinces you that your past wounds are too deep to heal and that your life’s purpose is lost. However, this is a lie from the devil to stop you from fulfilling your God-given destiny.

The Bible warns about such spirits that accuse and bind us. Revelation 12:10 calls Satan the “accuser of the brethren,” and self-pity often comes accompanied by accusing spirits that hold you fast in feelings of worthlessness and despair.

The Demonic Connection Behind Self-Pity

Demons rarely work alone. When self-pity gains entrance, it opens the door for other destructive spirits like defeatism, depression, anger, hatred, and bitterness to come flooding in. These spirits feed on your pain and keep you chained in a downward spiral.

This negative emotional state often leads to destructive behaviors: alcoholism, drug abuse, sexual immorality, overeating, or eating disorders such as anorexia. These are often coping mechanisms for the hopelessness that self-pity brings.

Mind, Body, and Soul: The Connection

The Bible teaches us that our spirit, soul, and body are interconnected (1 Thessalonians 5:23). When the mind is overwhelmed with negative thoughts—often fueled by self-pity—it releases harmful chemicals that can contribute to sickness and disease. Proverbs 17:22 says, “A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.”

Self-pity damages the mind and the spirit, which in turn harms the body. Thus, healing must be holistic—spiritually, mentally, and physically.

How to Break Free from Self-Pity

  1. Surrender It to God
Self-pity must be surrendered to God for healing to begin. As Psalm 147:3 promises, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Pray earnestly, asking Jesus to heal your wounded heart.

  2. Focus on God’s Promises
One effective way to break the habit of self-pity is to meditate on God’s Word and promises. Choose scriptures that speak of hope, healing, and restoration. For example, Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you a future and a hope.”

  3. Practice Gratitude and Praise
Develop a heart of gratitude. Begin by thanking God for small blessings. Praise shifts your focus from self to God and breaks the grip of self-pity. Psalm 34:1 says, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

  4. Forgive Those Who Hurt You
Unforgiveness is often the root that sustains self-pity. Holding on to bitterness gives the enemy legal rights to torment your spirit. Jesus commands forgiveness in Matthew 6:14-15. Forgiving others unlocks the chains and releases God’s healing power.

  5. Seek Deliverance Prayer
Self-pity can become a spiritual stronghold requiring deliverance. Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). Deliverance prayers can break curses, remove demonic spirits, and restore your soul’s health. Don’t hesitate to seek help from a trusted deliverance ministry.

Signs You May Be Under the Spirit of Self-Pity

  • Constant feelings of being a victim

  • Replaying painful memories without release

  • Resentment and bitterness toward others

  • Despair and depression

  • Physical sickness linked to emotional stress

  • Addictive or compulsive behaviors

The Danger of Allowing Self-Pity to Rule Your Life

When self-pity dominates, it imprisons your heart and mind. It stops you from pursuing God’s purpose and can lead to spiritual death if left unchecked (Ephesians 4:27 warns, “do not give the devil a foothold”).

It also opens the door for generational curses related to bitterness and unforgiveness, which can be passed down from ancestors. The Bible states in Exodus 20:5 that God visits “the iniquity of the fathers on the children.”

The Healing Power of Jesus

The good news is Jesus specializes in healing broken hearts. Isaiah 61:1 declares, “He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives.” Jesus’ death and resurrection provide victory over every spirit that seeks to bind you—including self-pity.

You are not alone. Through prayer, God’s Word, forgiveness, praise, and deliverance, you can overcome self-pity and live a life full of hope and freedom.

🧠 Demolishing Strongholds: Breaking Mental Bondage Through God’s Word

🧠 Demolishing Strongholds: Breaking Mental Bondage Through God’s Word

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God...” – 2 Corinthians 10:5

What Are Strongholds?

Strongholds are mental and emotional fortresses built over time through life experiences—often rooted in trauma, fear, lies, or false identity. These strongholds can be demonic in origin, deeply embedded in our thoughts, and designed to resist the truth of God's Word. According to 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, believers have divine power through Christ to tear down these destructive patterns.

They begin subtly—through what we see, hear, feel, taste, or smell. Traumatic experiences—like abuse, rejection, or abandonment—lay the foundation for lies such as “I am worthless,” “God doesn’t love me,” or “I will always be broken.” These lies become emotional strongholds, often protected by spirits of fear, shame, guilt, or self-hatred.

A Real-Life Example of a Mental Stronghold

A young girl molested by someone she trusted—perhaps a father or brother—may begin to believe, “I am dirty, unworthy, or shameful.” These thoughts don't just exist in the mind; they embed themselves into the personality and even affect physical health through the mind-body connection.

When the truth of God’s Word attempts to penetrate these lies, the stronghold reacts. It resists, often reinforced by demonic spirits whispering more lies. The goal? To keep the person from freedom and healing.

The Root System of Strongholds

Imagine a stronghold as a corrupted root in the brain. It feeds twisted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that oppose God’s truth. The ruling center of this stronghold is demonic, and it uses deception, fear, and false identity to maintain control. The spirit of fear is the master weapon—fear of rejection, failure, abandonment, poverty, or even fear of God’s judgment.

God commands us 365 times to “Fear Not.” Why? Because perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Love begins the battle for freedom. It tears down walls of self-deception and empowers the truth of Christ to reign.

Demolishing the Stronghold

Freedom doesn’t come just by casting out demons. Deliverance requires recognizing the lie, taking responsibility, repenting for believing it, and renouncing it. Only then can the stronghold be dismantled. However, if you don’t fill that area of your life with truth, the enemy will return with greater force (Luke 11:24-26).

Steps to Freedom:

  1. Identify the lie you’ve been believing.

  2. Repent and renounce the false belief.

  3. Speak the truth from God’s Word to replace the lie.

  4. Invite the Holy Spirit to renew your mind.

  5. Surround yourself with a body of believers for prayer and support.

  6. Memorize scripture and listen to praise music to cultivate gratitude.

  7. Seek deliverance ministry if necessary to help evict demonic residents.

Defending Against the Counterattack

Even after deliverance, strongholds often try to regain access. Don’t let your guard down! Demons desire to return to the place they once inhabited. But this time, they’ll bring reinforcements (Matthew 12:43-45).

The key to maintaining victory is truth saturation:

  • Read and meditate on Scripture daily.

  • Guard your mind from toxic input.

  • Keep a list of powerful verses for spiritual warfare.

  • Worship with thanksgiving—praise shifts the atmosphere.

  • Stay connected to a faith-filled community who uplifts you.

Walking in Victory

You’ll know a stronghold is broken when your thoughts begin to shift—when truth becomes more natural than lies. Your emotions begin to align with the Word. That’s the power of a renewed mind. Your body may even begin to heal because it’s no longer ruled by spiritual oppression or trauma-driven reactions.

Victory is not just possible—it’s promised through Christ.

“You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” —John 8:32
